Pun-Loving Lazy Bones - Sans FOR SMASH! (Challenger Concept #56)

- Undertale is a game I'm sure needs no introduction, as it has taken the world by storm ever since its release back in 2015. With its witty writing, rich atmosphere, fantastic music, and above all else...its wide array of fun characters, and standing proud as the most popular character in the franchise is none other than Sans, the pun-loving Skeleton who serves as the game's unexpected final boss in the Genocide route.
Sans as a character is no stranger to Smash at this point, as a simple Mii costume was more than enough to get the internet in an uproar back in 2019, so imagine how much noise an announcement for the real thing could make. Still, the question needs to be asked...how would he play? Sans is such a unique character that he can be taken in a lot of different ways, and this is how I feel he should play. You ready to have a bad time?

While I get why people tend to make his up special a teleport, I feel like there is a better option. A floating platform. In his boss fight you can dodge his atacks by jumping on a floating platform after all. And I think that by defalt it floats up, but pushing Left, Right, or Down can change its direction. Sans being lazy having this platform move for him fits his personality and is more unique.
true but then again we've seen what steve can do with his, sans is already a troll dont give him ideas lol
This is easily my favorite Sans moveset concept. That get dunked on attack is fucking brilliant.
That grab is the most brilliantly absurd idea I've ever seen for a Sans concept. It's just so perfect. The fact that the pummel is extremely fast and just involves him tightening his grip more is just icing on the cake, it gave me the biggest smile on my face reading the description for that move.
This whole moveset is great. It's like... It's literally what I'd expect if he was officially put into the game, barring some surprises like Get Dunked On, which is a phenomenal idea for a move in itself and makes me appreciate this kit even more. The victory screen where he gives the trophy to Papyrus is cute too, and I don't know if this was intentional or not, but I like how Sans gets "Mike Wazowski'd" by the losing fighter's portrait; it feels very in line with Undertale's brand of humor.
While I like the Final Smash idea, I think giving the opponent the ability to move during the falling phase would help make it just a little more special; I'll admit that I personally have a very heavy distaste for cinematic final smashes given how they're so abundant in Ultimate, but I really think that adding that little bit of interactivity could go a long way.
This is hands down one of your best videos, and congrats on the 100 milestone. Can't wait to see what you make in the future.
Can we talk about how good these concept images for Sans's attacks are? Those smash attacks hit HARD!!
There's no way Sans would be ballin'.

15:45 i feel like wario would find this funny rather than uncomfortable
Here it is!! Your 100th video!!! This has GOT to be the best rendition of Sans in Smash Bros I’ve ever seen; way better than BrawlFan1’s. Here’s to a skele-“ton” more!!
To be fair, Sans in Brawl's take is more of a gimmick for a _Papyrus_ moveset, which he thought better suited his character, but I get what you mean
Just wanted to say that Sans just being an extension is even worse.
This was so unexpected, yet believable at the same time.
I love it.
This may be my favourite Sans moveset and probably the best out there.
The attacks were all fantastic and the ones you made up were soooo good! The literal "headbutt" (down air), get dunked on, and the grab, man, that is one of the most creative grabs I've ever seen (and I didn't know grabs could be this creative).
Adoro come ai pensato a tutti i tipi di attacchi i maniera adeguata al personaggio
You saying *bones* at the end of a sentence gotta be a sound bite
I’ve seen a few Sans movesets before, but this one is my favorite! And Get Dunk’s On is a genius attack! Bravo!👏
Seeing this on my homepage elicited a "WHAT" from me in the sense I genuinely didn't expect this
I didn't ge through the whole video yet but I firmly believe this'll be good
Maybe think about Dracula from Castlevania franchise for a moveset video on Halloween:
He can have a unique victory animation like Joker and Sephiroth where it takes place at night time. And if he wins a Team Battle, he just sits on his throne.
One of his victory animations can be similar to Sephoroth walking into the background where he transforms into a swarm of bats and flies away while heading to the full moon and disappears later on.
And he also gets a unique victory quote when he beats Simon and/or Richter and says, "You're a disgrace to your family name" or "You give vampire hunters a bad name"
Can we just talk about how smooth the transition to the characters introduction was?
Damn these illustrations and models (I think) are really high quality and effort. Good job
9:40 “the laziest dropkick known to man and monster”
Orange Cassidy: “Finally a worthy challenger”
The "get dunked on" move reminded me of Quote vs Hiryo 2 animation lol
Congrats on your 100th video!🎉 your smash brothers movesets are amazing, and I’d love to see moveset concepts for potential nick all star brawl characters.
*IT'S FUCKING SPOOKY MONTH! ARE YOU EXCITED AS I AM, SANS!?*
It's cool that most of the move names in Sans' moveset are based on different bones.
Forgot to say congrats on ye 100th Video. I can't wait to see CRASH go N.SANE
15:35 this is the greatest idea for a grab ever😂
Now we need one for papyrus and one of Papyrus victory animation is that sans sleep on Papyrus' trophy, making Papyrus do his stomping animation
Lucario’s face is beautiful with that grab.
I am contractually obligated to demand a Frisk moveset now.
If Sans ever became a fighter of his own, they would do that exact same bit but with Ness instead of Chara on a stage based on that corridor
I always imagined Sans down special being similar to Jigglypuff’s, in reference to his “special attack”
Also one of his taunts should have him eat ice cream, in reference to a cut animation where he purposely stalls speed runners by eating ice cream. He can lick the ice cream for an infinite amount of time depending on how long you hold down the taunt button. Maybe it can replace the trumpet one, which can be the victory animation.
Sternum Slice caught me off-guard
If you're going to make another Smash moveset video on October; can you try a moveset video on either:
Skul from Skul the Hero Slayer
Death from Have a Nice Death
Dracula from Castlevania
Hellen Gravely from Luigi's Mansion 3
hey there! i'm planning on animating a few movesets in the future myself... and your own videos an EXCELLENT example of the effort and detail i hope to include in my own work. thank you for that.
with that said, i plan to do one or two characters you've covered and you've done some moves similar to how i would, though a bit different.... and in some cases i think i prefer your suggestion. may i use them? i would, of course, credit you for the idea.
You know what would be fun? If you did a stream rating viewers' movesets!
Sans's moveset was perfect. I would love to see you do your own take on Freddy Fazbear. And here's my concept of him:
A button attacks:
Neutral jab: “The Show Stage” He does 2 alternating high to low arm swings, ending with a leaning forward bite.
Dash attack: “Perilous Pounce” He leaps and pounces on his foe while letting out a mechanical roar (the same one from FNAF 2). It's similar to how Withered Foxy, Toy Bonnie, Toy Chica, and the Puppet attack the player in FNAF 2.
Side tilt: “Tip Your Hat” He takes off his top hat and viciously slams it in front of the ground, dealing two hits. The last hit spikes foes if it properly connects.
Up tilt: “Just a Glitch” He starts to temporarily malfunction for a second and his head violently shakes from left to right
Down tilt: “Crouch N’ Chomp” He lunges and uses a quick low-to-the-ground bite
Side smash: “The Bite of ’87” Freddy leans back and opens his mouth, his mouth getting wider and wider the longer he charges while the "IT'S ME" hallucination sound from FNAF 1 plays. Finally, he steps forward and lets out a loud robotic scream (from Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria Simulator) before delivering a viciously powerful bite! The name of the move is a reference to the canonical event of the same name, where a child lost their frontal lobe due to a malfunctioning animatronic's bite.
Up smash: “Pirate Plunder” He summons Foxy to do an overhead hook slash.
Down smash: “Join the Band” He summons both Bonnie and Chica to the left and the right, while they both do a jumpscare respectively that hits on both sides.
Neutral aerial: “Malfunctioning Madness” He starts to malfunction while his body emits a lot of electricity. The burst of electricity deals multiple flinching damage before launching foes with the final hit.
Side aerial: “Nightmare Claw” Nightmare Fredbear appears next to Freddy and does a downward claw slash
Back aerial: “Rock On” Montgomery Gator appears behind Freddy and does an overhead swing with his guitar from high to low. The guitar swing spikes foes if it sweetspots.
Up air: “Pop Goes the Weasel” The Puppet appears above Freddy and does an upwards headbutt
Down air: “Be Still” Glamrock Freddy appears below Freddy and does a downwards strike with his microphone, with a stand. The microphone swing spikes foes if it sweetspots.
The grabs:
Grab: He reaches out, similar to how he did in Five Nights at Freddy’s 2
Pummel: He bites the foe in the head
Forward throw: “The Best” Roxanne Wolf appears next to Freddy, and does two claw slashes to the foe. The first claw slash deals minimal knockback and the second claw slash sends the foe flying
Back throw: “Nightmare Bite” Nightmare appears and bites the foe's head before throwing said foe backwards with his jaw
Up throw: “Always Thinking” The Puppet phases out from the ground and headbutts the foe, sending the foe upwards
Down throw: “Come Get Your Candy!” Candy Cadet drops down from the sky and slams down on the foe, burying them
The Specials:
Neutral B: "Mic Toss" Freddy throws out his usual mic that travels in a similar distance to Mario's Fireball. His mic can be reflected, but it cannot be absorbed. Only one mic can be thrown at a time.
Side B: "Pizza Wheel" Freddy sends out a sideways rolling pizza that rolls like a wheel (hence the name, and similar to the attack from FNAF World). It travels the same distance as Samus's Super Missile. The Pizza Wheel deals multiple flinching damaging hits before it vanishes. Freddy can only have one pizza wheel thrown out at a time.
Up B: "Haywire Hop" Freddy surrounds himself with static, allowing him to travel upwards in a slight amount. Its jumping height is sort of similar to King Dedede's Super Dedede Jump. Freddy will be invincible during this move, but after he finishes this move, he'll be vulnerable to most attacks.
Down B: "Jumpscare" Freddy will power down for at least 3 seconds before he reactivates again. If he is hit once he powers down, he reactivates and screams loudly at his foe, sending them flying. This counter attack works similar to the Fire Emblem characters' Counter special attacks, but there's a unique twist once Freddy jumpscares the foe. After the foe gets hit by Freddy's scream, they'll be dizzy for five seconds, referencing the Jumpscare attack from FNAF World.
Final Smash: “It’s Me” Upon activating the Final Smash, Freddy unleashes a burst of electricity from his endoskeleton body while laughing ominously, and if only one foe is caught in the burst of electricity, they will be pulled into a terrifying cinematic Final Smash. We cut to the opponent's POV of the office from the original FNAF game before the lights dim out. Freddy's laughter can be heard as soon as his footsteps approach. Then from the left door, Freddy’s face flickers while playing the Toreador March jingle, then the whole screen blacks out for 5 seconds. Finally, Freddy jumps out from the shadows and screams loudly at the opponent’s face as it cuts to a static screen! This Final Smash will deal a MORTAL amount of damage. Freddy's opponent won't be launched away if their percentage is low, but if they end up with more than 100% of damage, their night shift is OVER.
Stage entrance: A burst of static covers the screen as Freddy suddenly appears deactivated, his head bowed and arms at rest. He then rises his head, with the sounds of mechanical whirring ringing out, and takes his neutral stance while he says “A-a-are you ready f-f-for Freddy?”
Taunts:
#1: He briefly turns into his "TAKE CAKE TO THE CHILDREN" minigame sprite, turning side-to-side, before he reverts back.
#2: His eyes turn black with white pupils, then his face flickers while playing the first few notes of the Toreador March jingle and also echoing out his ominous laugh from FNAF 1 before his eyes turn back to normal
#3: He disappears in a burst of static and Golden Freddy's head takes his place with his usual laughter and the words "IT'S ME" appear randomly around him. Freddy then reappears on the spot that he disappeared before Golden Freddy took his place.
Victory tune: Nothing. Absolutely nothing... deafening silence, just like Kazuya.
Victory animations:
#1: The original four animatronics, Freddy, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy are seen performing for the crowd. You can hear a group of children cheering for Freddy and his gang while confetti rains on them.
#2: This victory screen appears more desaturated than normal. Freddy's laugh echoes as he is nowhere to be seen. Suddenly, the camera glitches out in a burst of static, and after the dust settles, Freddy is staring lifelessly at the camera, appearing to be deactivated, yet with white pupils in his empty sockets.
#3: This victory screen takes place inside the original office from Five Nights at Freddy’s 1, and the victory screen is even more desaturated than before. Freddy is initially seen reaching towards the camera in a sort of frozen stance as the screen flickers to black. After a moment and a flash of blackness, Freddy suddenly lunges at the camera with his arms out-stretched while letting out a loud mechanized scream. At that moment, the splash-text and freeze frame initiate. Once that happens, the camera cuts to static. The initial pose is a reference to Freddy's in-office appearance from FNAF2, the animation of Freddy attacking is a reference to his power outage jumpscare, and the mechanical scream is just the FNAF1 jumpscare sound. #4: This only plays when you win with Freddy's Final Smash. We get to a POV shot of Freddy's opponent wearing the Freddy Fazbear mask, that is until Freddy comes into view and stares at his victim ominously. He then says “When y-y-y-you wake up, just r-r-r-remember… friends are f-f-f-forever.” This references the Game Over screen from Five Nights at Freddy’s 1, where the player was stuffed into a Freddy Fazbear suit.
That probably will happen sometime next year.
@@FeliciaFan_that would be Exciting
I wonder who’s next for the smash bros moveset concept
Holy shit sans undertale?!?!?!?!???
MAYBE IT'S THE WAY YOUR DRESSED
Out of curiosity, if you were to create mods for SSBU, would you create mods based on your many moveset concepts?
Wouldn't Brawl be easier? Also, there's a playable Sans in REMIX.
Please can you make a moveset for wesker and for balan
Here are some ideas for smash
Cuphead
Freddy fazbear
Worm (Worms)
Rayman
Bomberman
Spring man (Arms)
Toxtricity (Pokemon)
Parappa the rapper
Sylveon (Pokemon)
Snivy (Pokemon)
you should do a moveset for Beatrix from slime rancher
she could use the different slimes and gadgets
I would think that Sans would have literally no chance to take a hit. He dies in one hit, as a noweight. However, he has a stamina mechanic. Every time he uses an ability, it uses a little stamina, and if he gets hit he loses more stamina. When it hits zero, he has to nap for a second or so before he can get back into the fight.
7:45 I was honestly expecting Papyrus
sans doesn't know what happens in Undertale though.
What about having Papyrus as a echo fighter? As a more neutral-focused character with higher survivability but weaker attacks?
Considering how different the characters’ models would be, echo fighter probably wouldn’t work well for Papyrus
@@Clownbelt-u2s wouldn't it just be about moving the hitboxes around and tweaking the stats? I think it could work
This was an interesting moveset, I don't really give a sh- about Undertale nor zoners, (Unless their name is Megaman, Kuja, or Chris) but still not too bad, that color 6 though, oof.
Get dunked on is so funny
unfortunately I doubt they will put sans on smash because they have already worn the costume but it would be beautiful
Am i the only one who sees sans forward tilt being a lazy kick😂
Last time I commented on your video, things didn't go out so well considering about an entirely different video, making commenting here a little nerve racking.
As FeliciaFan knows, I'm more of a fan with Brawlfan1 than him, especially after the heated discussion. While I don't agree with everything, that is because of being biased, but even that has a limit. While I don't agree on everything on both sides for Sans, I do like aspects from both sides a lot. Especially your Side Special FeliciaFan, though I wouldn't have make the Blue Bones more complicated than what they were in the games.
What I'm saying is, I enjoyed the moveset, even if there is a nagging voice of why the moves are what they are. While I don't agree with everything, there are ideas which I think are executed extremely well, maybe not perfectly, but close to it.
Red from Angry Birds next, please
