Hi there , thanks very much I do my best to be different and show what other don’t , there’s many different videos on the channel show the coast as it’s been getting washed away and damaged, plus lots of other things

Lots of people lost homes in hemsby with little or no help from the council or anyone with power to do something it’s a shame I lived there for years and loved it

Hi there , no problem yes it’s very sad how much I getting taken by the sea each few weeks
You can see that the local community has worked hard to clear the debris. I still think it’s not safe for children to play on the beach and there is more to come down unfortunately. Great update.

To see what work has been done on Hemsby beach is amazing with near all that dangerous metal and roadside cleared. Full credit to all those involved in this mammoth task to make the beach ready for 2024. It is such a shame this needed go this far after so much campaigning to the Government it all fell on deaf ears.
Hi there , yes I’m glad this much has been done a big improvement, but more will keep coming down each big tide or bad storm, and so the process will start again.

They need to get amongst those rocks with an angle grinder, and bolt cutters, to get rid of the metal sticking out. Imagine kids playing on them and getting spiked.
Hi yes exactly, if they got a team in it could be done in a day
think you will find they will back fill behind the front row of rocks and build it back up...... 🤔
It breaks my heart to see Hemsby like this. Born and bred in Norfolk I spent many happy holidays and family days out at Hemsby. My Mum and Dad even did their courting back in the day there...❤... I have photos of my Nan with them sat on the beach..
We moved away in my teens and I sadly don't get back as often as I'd like but when I want a day at the beach it's always Hemsby I head for.
Surely those power cables and metal bars have got to be removed before the children start arriving in the warmer weather?
As I said, it's heart breaking.....
Hi there it’s great to hear about such great memories of the area , but a real shame there just letting it go to the sea , I agree all metal and cables and pipes ect need removing asap before the 2024 summer season or it will have a big impact I’m sure .

Hi there , yes it has a notice on it to be removed with the year , but I think the sea will claim it before then .electric has now been disconnected all the way along now .real shame as they all could of been saved
I'm sure any help to clean up the beach would be greatfully accepted after all most of the clean up has been done by locals and the volunteer Lifeboat crew

The sand dunes you mention here, are on the Blackpool border with Lytham St Anne's on the Fylde Coast. I am amazed to learn that they are only 10 years old. They are so high if you were sitting upstairs on a double decker bus you cannot see the sea over the sand dunes. But you will see lovely flowers as you go past. An amazing success and a great way of recycling old Christmas trees. Would something like this help Hembsey and Happisburgh?

Hi there , yes that’s the main trouble 👍
The whole area is compacted sand and the sea will take it all away sooner or later. Up Cromer way the cliffs are more robust. Think of all those lost villages and towns from the time of the Domesday Book was written. Thousands of years ago there was a vast plain where mammoths and hippos roamed, and ancient tribes. All taken by the sea. We may slow down erosion, but it will continue.

The gabions (cages) could be restacked in a half a day with a big bit of machinery 🤣🤣🤣🤣

@@WFAEXPLOREWITHME Sorry I was laughing that you thought it could be sorted in half a day. Last time they were repaired it took about 2 months and cost more than half £million.
@SuperLizz99 with two large diggers and a crane it could be done in no time at all . I had family who done it for a living in the work days .

I watch this video of Hemsby and videos of Happisburgh with great sadness to coastal erosion in action. How much land have you lost? Due to a small population you get little money and help to protect your properties and coastline, which is very unfair.
Meanwhile on the Fylde Coast, Blackpool Council in the middle, Fylde Council to the south and Wyre Council to the north have been given well over £100 million on sea defences in the past 20 years to protect 1000s of properties.
Blackpool have 7 miles of coastline all protected by a sea wall. The sea wall continues at Cleveleys, a beautiful seaside town north of Blackpool, and goes all the way to Fleetwood, a total of 12 miles of sea wall protecting the middle and north of the Fylde Coast. On the south of the Fylde Coast there is at least a 5 mile streach of sea wall between Lytham and St Anne's.
Blackpool and the Fylde Coast is tidel and there is a big difference between high and low tides. High tides did cause a lot of flooding in Blackpool before the current sea defences. On very high tides and stormy weather some properties in Cleveleys are still at risk of flooding.
Major sea defence work is being carried out at Cleveleys. After building a lovely sea wall some years ago, last year they buried hugh rocks to protect an older sea wall and now they are replacing old timber sea groynes with new rock groynes and adding extra rock groynes.
Visit Fylde Coast have an excellent series of videos on their UA-cam channel about the sea defences at Cleveleys. Maybe similar work can be done at Hembsy and Happisburgh? Would it be worth burying old Christmas trees to create sand dunes like they have done at St Anne's just south of Blackpool?
Hi there yes there’s lots they could try and do but as you say because there’s only a few properties they don’t want to help , but just up the coast Cromer and mundsley are being done as we speak, and other big areas around bigger population on the coast get help too 👍, thanks for watching and joining in .
oh dear , i really feel for those people losing their homes , it must be aweful when you've spent all that money doing it up , & putting all your lovely furniture & things in , only to see it being pulled down , i think i would want to weep .
Hi there yes I agree , some of the people who have commented lived on there , they said they had a lot of fun years , but that no the point really , they should have many more left to enjoy not go through this 👍👍👍
You can’t be serious mate? Your more worried about the rubbish on the beach then what’s happening to the beach. I think the people of hemsby have more things to worry about then a little bit of rubbish! Every time I go on holiday there the beach is beautiful even with everything that is going on. I applaud the people of hemsby as they have no help from anyone else.
Hi there , try watching my other videos and you will see there plenty of help with big machinery to clear the beach and make it safe to walk , I agree the residents have more to worry about than rubbish, but there being offered plots elsewhere now to move too 👍
I wonder whether a local scrap metal company would be interested in combing the beach for free scrap metal? Everyone would benefit!
Hi there , yes you would think so wouldn’t you , I think the clear up was a fairly good job , but more needs to be done to make it perfect again .
Not enough for a scrap company to spend labour and equipment time on I would imagine.
The Marrams has disappeared from history shame it was a good place to live
