I've been wearing a lot more makeup than before. I came late to makeup when I was firmly in a corporate office role. Being at home has given me more time to get ready, and I've been able to experiment with wild colour on my eyelids, wonky winged eyeliner or bold lipstick. It's relaxing and a nice moment of quiet for me when I'm getting ready away from the kids, and I discovered a love of bright colours. Winning
I love this look, especially that liquid shadow! My makeup routine hasn't changed too much, as I was chronically ill disabled homebound prior to covid, so I still throw on a full face/half a face/whatever when I have the energy and my pain levels are good! I *am* that person with voluminous curls on a Tuesday ....BUT it's because I wash my hair every 7-10 days. (I throw some waves in it with a flatiron (5 min) and then proceed to only bother to fingercomb it every couple days and use dry shampoo and BOOM 7-10 days of waves/curls. Dry shampoo has my heart forever.
i’m definitely wearing less makeup! and i’ve gotten really good at accentuating my eyes, cuz they’re the only way i can express myself in my mask. Lashes, liner, precision shadow placement, and then glowy cheekbones 💯💯💯

First months of self-quarantine (March-April) I wore no makeup at all, but slowly I came back to wear some base makeup, mostly a light weight or mineral foundation, some cheek products (usually highlighter and blush or bronzer, not really all 3, but I love my glow 😃), no lipstick because it makes no sense with wearing a mask, and I put more effort into my eye makeup. I’m more experimental with colours which I have never done before because I had no courage 😃 I’ve been loving putting my eyeshadows in rotation so every week I focus on a different palette and actually use the makeup that I own 👌🏻
I've been mixing Purito unscented spf50 with a couple of dots of Too Faced born this way concealer in a bowl to create a tinted SPF. Mix them up with a foundation brush and apply directly with the brush. This combo is so bomb for dry skin and great for natural make up lovers. I can't trust foundations with spf to provide enough sun protection. By using this mixture, i know i'm applying enough sunscreen. And it's so natural looking and quick!
I actually almost totally stopped wearing makeup - I’m not required to be on video for my work calls, so unless I need to (like for a one on one or something) I don’t bother. I just take the opportunity to sleep more! I haven’t been so caught up on sleep in YEARS! It’s amazing 🥰
Wearing more eye makeup, less foundation/blush/lipstick. Some days I don't even wear foundation, as I have been concentrating on skin care during the pandemic, and it's paying off. I'm with you on the lashes - even if I'm not wearing makeup (rare!) I still curl my lashes - makes me look more awake! Love your plants - and kudos for trying new things. Obviously you are artistic, and think the drawing class is a wonderful idea.
OMG yess do the glossy blush video, I am obsessed too!! I love the EM ones but have not yet found a color that suits me- Rose Milk pulled really orange on me and I want to try the lilac shade but it's been out of stock. I have been buying these A'Pieu Juicy Pang ones in various fruity shades everytime I do a YesStyle order. I agree with what you said about having to seek out new passions in 2020, I had to do the same- or check in with what I loved that I wasn't keeping up with, if that makes sense.
Do you find the EM blush dries down to a matte or dewy finish? I want to get probably the pink nectar shades one day when I wear makeup often again lol. Are the A'Pieu JUicy pang ones dewy when they dry down? the only cream blush I have currently are the glossier ones but they dry down matte.
@@clisaa6974 I would say both stay dewy but are a bit different. The EM formula is slightly more special. It really is a bit like skincare mixed with makeup (i.e. contains oils) so feels hydrating on the face and means you don’t need highlight as Karima said. But EM makes products in really small batches and consequently their products are out of stock frequently, plus the shades to me were a bit odd and I hope she expands them again. The A’Pieu ones are a bit more watery but still look dewy and they come in a ton of shades for a pretty good price point (plus they smell delicious!).
@@meganm214 I love Tiger Lily Queen on my medium skin tone! Sweet Peach Peony is a little too subtle on me, but gorgeous on lighter skin tones! I believe it’s their most popular. Cherry Blossom Babe is also really pretty if you prefer cooler tones.
I haven’t watched her videos for quite a while (I’m not even sure why), but so happy I came across this one, reminded me how much I like her style and charachter, so much fun to watch, even though I gave up on make up in 2020
I’ve been trying to tone down how much base makeup I wear (even before quarantine) but it definitely varies with my mood :) I’ve also been very extra with the base cocktails that I’ve been mixing to achieve the perfect shade and finish!
Hi Karima- I’m wearing little to no foundation this year (since the pandemic) I still find myself liking to wear lip products because the ones I choose are moisturizing and kind to the lips, which I find makes me feel great-if my lips feel dry, I never feel good. As for eye makeup, I find I’m more into it since they are “featured’ when we have masks on. Love your videos- love the tips on doing your lips the way you showed to give a more youthful, full lip. 😘 Love plants.. just took a few hanging ones in for the winter. They make the house feel ‘alive’

I feel like I've been doing a lot more combining of products lately in 2020. Like adding rose hip oil to my moisturiser. I've also been using more cleansing balm and exfoliating more. I think 2020 has really made me concentrate on my skincare and my complexion. And I'm thankful that my maskne has dimmed the later the year has gotten; I think it's most likely from my skin getting used to the moisture from wearing one for 5 days a week, 8 hours a day at my coffee shop where I work.
Putting on makeup sets a productive mindset, as does changing out of pjs, and putting on shoes. Also, to answer your questions - to have good curls I have to wash them and then leave them the heck alone. And I am wearing more makeup, because I found you and Sharon. Can't wait for the next Sharima.
Honestly I hardly wore makeup to begin with but now when I have time to play I do a daytime Smokey liner haha. And I fell back in love you liquid lipsticks. I don’t care if I’m wearing a mask. all day I don’t feel right without some color on my lips.
The makeup I've been doing lately is probably more 'quiet' than before 2020, but I indulge in those precious little details that end up prolonging makeup play time. Tight-lining, nude pencil on the waterline, individual lashes, inner corner highlight, some fake freckles, and tons of spot concealing. I've been doing less dramatic eye looks and been focusing more on skin. A lot of days I'll wake up and spend 40 minutes on skincare and base makeup, and then not apply any eyeshadow at all! I don't really know why, it might have something to do with going back to school and having less freedom with the kind of makeup I'm allowed to wear, but it's also definitely a new development. Whether it has anything to do with the craziness of 2020 or not, I don't know, but that's how my makeup routine has changed.

I have been wearing makeup less frequently, but when I do put some on, I wear way MORE than I used to! Also, I'm guilty of buying more makeup... why? I agree - how I got out of my emotional and mental rut is by doing what I normally do in the mornings before going to work - shower and makeup!!! It makes me feel more normal again!! 💪🏼😂

This year I wear so much less makeup. I used to put it on every morning for work. Now I don't feel obligated to do that, but I will play with it more just for fun! It has been really refreshing!
This is my first video from this channel and definitely will be subscribing! Such a please to watch someone so fun/ refreshing and also with great tips! I’ve actually just gotten into makeup in March this year and it’s been nice to have a new hobby to explore with so much stress this year. Without covid I also would’ve felt a lot more pressure to always wear makeup when I was going out instead of just putting some on and experimenting on whatever days I feel like it. It’s been nice to just wear it because it’s fun and have this time to play around with things and not worrying about people seeing me if my application doesn’t look good😂
Yay for the plant tour 💚💚 your pink princess is a priceless one!! I find myself spending more time doing skincare - a longer massage, a bit more frequent masking. It's my hair that has been neglected though, I've mostly stopped styling it.
At the beginning of quarantine I was taking a lot of time doing my makeup just because I had the time and now I'm doing it much quicker but because of earlier months, I'm more likely to experiment with a fun lip or eye on a daily basis.

I’m definitely wearing less makeup - instead I’m focussing on skincare and I’ve become obsessed with Korean skincare. I’ve stopped bothering with blush quite so much - I love a strong highlighter though because it can be seen above the mask!
I wear the same amount of make up as before but I emphasize certain things more because of the Zoom lighting issue you mentioned 😁 e.g. lining my upper water line or applying a highlighting concealer. Great video and gosh I love that liquid blush!

Yup you’re right Australian and European internet are like the FLASHHHHH..compare to US.. when we had our vacay in Europe for a month my kids were amazed by their internet and they called it the flash!!... anyway, beautiful makeup love it..
I wish i could still wear blush! Lip color and blush were my favorite makeup products and now the only makeup i really wear is undereye concealer, mascara and brow gel. Loved the video even though I don't work from home. It's always so fun to "visit" with you, Karima. Happy birthday once again!
In 2020 I definitely veer between days when I go all out and experiment with different things (colorful gradient eyebrows etc) and others when i just can't be bothered. Less if the basic everyday looks, I guess, since I only really see people when I'm out for walks or through a screen, so my makeup really is about me and what I want to do that day rather than looking polished for other people.
My answer to "how do you do voluminous curls on a Tuesday?" I washed my hair the night before and actually had the time/patience to curl it on Tuesday 😂 Part of why I love having short hair, I never have to be bothered to style it! My only issue with the hazy full lip is that I have a naturally hazy lip line (my natural lip line literally bleeds out) so when I try to do that trend I feel like my lips look unnaturally full and it just ruins the look 😭
Definitely putting on some makeup has really kept me going during this quarantine. Perhaps I use less more cream textures and curl my lashes as a minimum. Unless I have a meeting then I do a full face of makeup. But always a little something. Great Video! Thanks for sharing.

I love makeup, even if I’m going nowhere!! - I just enjoy the process, the colors, it’s relaxing to me ;) maybe I’m wearing a little less lipstick, as I have to wear a mask all day, but I love it all ;)
Bouncy curls on Tuesday... yes that’s me! BUT! It’s because I do it on wash day and wear a silk cap to bed and it preserves my curl and bounce so well! Highly recommended! And than I have bouncy curls for like 4-5 days 😂

I'm all about eye make-up, a little bit of brows, and zero complexion because I have quite good skin these days (or I've learnt to not care about imperfections under a mask...)

These days, wearing less makeup but still buying, lol. I have what I want and need from Estee Lauder, bought from the Guerlain line and now having a pleasant go with Chanel. Oh and picked up a couple of Natasha Denona palettes 🥰
You know what, my makeup preferences did change this year due to corona! I used to powder my entire face all the time but I found that the foundation looks more patchy after I take off the mask, but it fades nicer under the mask when I don't powder. I still wear lip products, but usually inside my house. Outside my house I sometimes use the Maybelline superstay matte ink liquid lipsticks because they don't move, but I don't enjoy wearing as much lip products as I used to 🥺
Kosas! I think this is the first time I've seen you using anything from theirs, so I'm quite glad because I really like that brand. And it makes me even happier that you're making a brand review ☺️ Their lipsticks and blushers/highlighters are really lovely, imo.

The Nudestix Nudies Bloom blushes are also great glossy blushes! As a lazy person, I love how easy they are to apply. I just swipe and blend.

Honestly I hardly wore makeup to begin with but now when I have time to play I do a daytime Smokey liner haha. And I fell back in love you liquid lipsticks. I don’t care if I’m wearing a mask. all day I don’t feel right without some color on my lips.
The makeup I've been doing lately is probably more 'quiet' than before 2020, but I indulge in those precious little details that end up prolonging makeup play time. Tight-lining, nude pencil on the waterline, individual lashes, inner corner highlight, some fake freckles, and tons of spot concealing.

I've been doing less dramatic eye looks and been focusing more on skin. A lot of days I'll wake up and spend 40 minutes on skincare and base makeup, and then not apply any eyeshadow at all! I don't really know why, it might have something to do with going back to school and having less freedom with the kind of makeup I'm allowed to wear, but it's also definitely a new development. Whether it has anything to do with the craziness of 2020 or not, I don't know, but that's how my makeup routine has changed.
I have been wearing less makeup. It’s just hard to get into normal things when things are not normal. Beatiful makeup.

I have been wearing makeup less frequently, but when I do put some on, I wear way MORE than I used to! Also, I'm guilty of buying more makeup... why? I have no idea but I have been trying out way more makeup than ever before. Like you, makeup is my escape! I'm so excited to try the EM Cosmetics glossy blushes, please give us that video!!

I agree - how I got out of my emotional and mental rut is by doing what I normally do in the mornings before going to work - shower and makeup!!! It makes me feel more normal again!! 💪🏼😂

This year I wear so much less makeup. I used to put it on every morning for work. Now I don't feel obligated to do that, but I will play with it more just for fun! It has been really refreshing!

I’ve actually just gotten into makeup in March this year and it’s been nice to have a new hobby to explore with so much stress this year. Without covid I also would’ve felt a lot more pressure to always wear makeup when I was going out instead of just putting some on and experimenting on whatever days I feel like it. It’s been nice to just wear it because it’s fun and have this time to play around with things and not worrying about people seeing me if my application doesn’t look good😂

I find myself spending more time doing skincare - a longer massage, a bit more frequent masking. It's my hair that has been neglected though, I've mostly stopped styling it.
At the beginning of quarantine I was taking a lot of time doing my makeup just because I had the time and now I'm doing it much quicker but because of earlier months, I'm more likely to experiment with a fun lip or eye on a daily basis.

I’m definitely wearing less makeup - instead I’m focussing on skincare and I’ve become obsessed with Korean skincare. I’ve stopped bothering with blush quite so much - I love a strong highlighter though because it can be seen above the mask!

I wear the same amount of make up as before but I emphasize certain things more because of the Zoom lighting issue you mentioned 😁 e.g. lining my upper water line or applying a highlighting concealer. Great video and gosh I love that liquid blush!

Yup you’re right Australian and European internet are like the FLASHHHHH..compare to US.. when we had our vacay in Europe for a month my kids were amazed by their internet and they called it the flash!!... anyway, beautiful makeup love it..
I wish i could still wear blush! Lip color and blush were my favorite makeup products and now the only makeup i really wear is undereye concealer, mascara and brow gel. Loved the video even though I don't work from home. It's always so fun to "visit" with you, Karima. Happy birthday once again!

In 2020 I definitely veer between days when I go all out and experiment with different things (colorful gradient eyebrows etc) and others when i just can't be bothered. Less if the basic everyday looks, I guess, since I only really see people when I'm out for walks or through a screen, so my makeup really is about me and what I want to do that day rather than looking polished for other people.
My answer to "how do you do voluminous curls on a Tuesday?" I washed my hair the night before and actually had the time/patience to curl it on Tuesday 😂 Part of why I love having short hair, I never have to be bothered to style it! My only issue with the hazy full lip is that I have a naturally hazy lip line (my natural lip line literally bleeds out) so when I try to do that trend I feel like my lips look unnaturally full and it just ruins the look 😭

Definitely putting on some makeup has really kept me going during this quarantine. Perhaps I use less more cream textures and curl my lashes as a minimum. Unless I have a meeting then I do a full face of makeup. But always a little something. Great Video! Thanks for sharing.

Bouncy curls on Tuesday... yes that’s me! BUT! It’s because I do it on wash day and wear a silk cap to bed and it preserves my curl and bounce so well! Highly recommended! And than I have bouncy curls for like 4-5 days 😂

I'm all about eye make-up, a little bit of brows, and zero complexion because I have quite good skin these days (or I've learnt to not care about imperfections under a mask...)

Had that same watery eyes issue, so I switched to the Japanese sunscreen NOV for sensitive skin for just around the eyes. Works like a charm.

I’m more into natural and vintage makeup lately! Brands like Kosas and Besame.
You know what, my makeup preferences did change this year due to corona! I used to powder my entire face all the time but I found that the foundation looks more patchy after I take off the mask, but it fades nicer under the mask when I don't powder. I still wear lip products, but usually inside my house. Outside my house I sometimes use the Maybelline superstay matte ink liquid lipsticks because they don't move, but I don't enjoy wearing as much lip products as I used to 🥺
