I work in a shop repairing ship Propellers. Stuck in the Middle with you came on the radio while I was welding and I had to stop flip up my welding hood and do the Michael Madsen dance. I used a welding stinger as my straight razor. My boss died laughing.
If you've seen Pulp Fiction, you'll remember John Travolta is Vincent Vega. Mr. Blonde is Vic Vega, Vincent Vega's brother. They were both hit men and not robbers. It's why Mr. Blonde is more of a psycho than a "professional". For several years Quentin Tarantino toyed with the idea of doing a sort of "prequel" to both of those movies with the Vega brothers.
The literal rats that used to frequent the reservoir were the size of dogs. So even though they were rodents, the rats are referred to as Reservoir Dogs and the whole movie is about finding the rat in their group.
Check out "Jackie Brown", that is the Tarantino movie I think you will like the most. It's his third movie, after Pulp Fiction, before Kill Bill. It's definitely MY favorite.
I still have to go with Pulp Fiction, but it's pretty close. Fun to see what he could do with nothing, but exponentially more impressive to see what he could do with not much.
My mom took me to see this when I was 7 years old. I remember being shocked by the bloody backseat scene and then laughing OUT LOUD when Mr. White MAKES HIM SAY THE Goshdarn WORDS! Even at that age i knew how ridiculous the whole thing was. I understood Tarantino flicks right there.
I was just thinking about how young I was and was shocked. But I was only 12. Respectfully your mom sounds awesome. I wish mine had taken me 😂. “ I understood Tarantino flicks right there” 👍🏻💯

Fun fact: Mr. Blonde is Vic Vega, and he is the brother of John Travolta's character in Pulp Fiction (which I highly recommend) Vincent Vega. Tarantino was planning on making a prequel to both movies with called the Vega Brothers where both Michael Madson and John Travolta returning to play those characters, but it never came to pass and both actors got too old to play their younger selves and Tarantino won't recast the parts with younger actors.
What's so different about this film is, the majority of it takes place in one room - yet the writing leaves a LOT to the imagination. For years after I first saw this, I kept thinking that the actual jewellry store robbery scenes were cut from the film, because I "know" that I saw it the first time I saw the film. However, we never see it take place - we only hear about it. Now that you've seen this, you can see Pulp Fiction, and you'll understand it a bit better than the average bear. 🙂 And yes, you must see True Romance, Jackie Brown (arguably the least violent of all of his films - and equally arguably his best), and a lesser-known vehicle of his (pardon the pun...you'll see...), called Death Proof.
Tarantino used to work in a video store. a few years before RD came out, there was a (relatively) popular French movie called Au revoir les enfants. According to legend, a couple came into Tarantino's video store looking for a movie and the lady proposed they rent said French film, to which her beau responded, "I don't wanna watch no 'Reservoir Dogs'". Tarantino noticed and kept the name. I believe it, if for no other reason than his unintentional misspelling of Inglourious Basterds becoming that movies official name.
I agree. I found it kind of disappointing when it came out, but it's definitely grown on me. One of my absolute favourites and would like to see more reactions to it
You need to watch "True Romance" You will like this one. True Romance is a 1993 American romantic crime film directed by Tony Scott and written by Quentin Tarantino. It features an ensemble cast led by Christian Slater and Patricia Arquette, with Dennis Hopper, Val Kilmer, Gary Oldman, Brad Pitt, and Christopher Walken in supporting roles. Slater and Arquette portray newlyweds on the run from the Mafia after stealing a shipment of drugs.
In the Tarantino universe, Mr. Blonde (Vic Vega) and Vince Vega (from Pulp Fiction) are brothers. He had planned on filming a prequel based on those two but had to abandon it when the actors aged out of the roles.
LOL you hid behind a pillow 👀. Nice reaction👍. If you haven't seen it yet, please consider watching Casino. It stars Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci and Sharon Stone and is based on the true story of mobsters in Las Vegas.
Fun fact, Kirk Baltz (the guy playing Marvin) actually ad-libbed that line about having a little kid at home, and Michael Madsen couldn't continue filming the scene for a little while because his wife had just given birth.
Hey Liz, I think your distaste for the blood made you miss some awesome themes and deeper meanmings happening in the movie. You took it as just dialogue being rattled off by each of the characters but there is a deeper psychological dynamic going on in the movie, which is what take it to another level. Because Harvey Keitel (Mr.White) feels responsible for getting Tim Roth (Mr Orange) shot. HE stops thinking like a criminal and starts taking on a father figure role, soothing Tim Roth (Mr. Orange) as he bleeds out. He knows ROth's going to die, he feels responsible for it and it won't let him entertain the fact that Tim Roth is a cop. Tarantino's subtext is always next level and gives the meaning of events in the movie so much more psychological impact than would be in a normal shoot-em-up heist flick.
ahhh, you haven't seen jackie brown, its very underrated in my opinion, i group jackie brown, pulp fiction and this movie into a specific tarantino genre
This was his first “major” production movie. Nothing like this had really come out. Especially with the dialogue. Then pulp fiction cemented his “style” since it was so unique. After this, many movies came out trying to emulate the style.
All of Tarantino’s films are somewhat derivative. This one is specifically built off of Stanley Kubrick’s The Killing, which introduced the non linear crime/ heist drama dependent on each colorful characters storyline. Films like this and Fargo reintroduced audiences to the style and definitely did start a heavy wave that stayed solid for another decade.
Tarantino foreshadows that Mr. Orange is the rat in the opening scene. When the boss Joe asks who didn't throw in a tip, Mr. Orange rats on Mr. Pink right away.
The diamonds from the heist were originally what was in the Pulp Fiction suitcase, Tarantino and his writing partner Roger Avary quickly abandoned that idea, realizing nothing they put in the suitcase would live up to an audience’s expectations
The disjointed pattern that Tarantino uses in filming where you can't really tell where it begins or ends, is what is called a Mobius Strip. I don't know anything past that, just the term.
I always thought Reservoir Dogs referred to feral strays, but it's a guess. Fun fact: Mr Blonde's Parole Officer, Scagnetti, who is talked about in this is played by Tom Sizemore in Natural Born Killers, which QT also wrote.
Reservoir Dogs is a made up term. It didn't mean anything when selected as the title. - Just as an aside, I believe the same goes for Peckinpah's Straw Dogs.
I wish I'd seen this on a big screen, in a theater with an audience. I was late to the party......waiting about 6 months until after it came out on video.
I saw it in the theater (the Mayan theater in Denver) when it came out and a lot of people walked out during the scene with the cop's ear, even though they don't actually show him cutting it off.
Tarantino is good friends with filmmaker Robert Rodriguez. They collaborated on several projects that are not on your Tarantino list and each one has a number of actors that appear in many of their films: "Desperado" (1995) "Four Rooms" (1995) "From Dusk Till Dawn" (1996) They did a double-feature called "Grindhouse" (2007) which includes both "Planet Terror" (2007) and "Death Proof" (2007), as well as some false trailers for the intermission between them. Rodriguez made one of these into a full film: "Machete Kills" (2013)
I saw this in the theater when it came out I sat in my seat waited for it to come on again it was so good still one of my favorite movies till this day
I did too. I later learned it was only in 67 theaters. So I'm assuming only select cities. I'm only in Halifax Nova Scotia but for some reason on the list I guess in Canada that usually only was Montreal and Toronto.
The rat is revealed in the diner scene, when the old man asks “Who didn’t Tip” the rat, Mr Orange rats out Mr Pink. Also foreshadows Mr White being sympathetic and thus believing Mr Orange is not a cop. Before the Mexican standoff the old man says “he should have his head checked” he means he didn’t realize at the diner Mr Orange was a rat. Tarantino is the best storyteller.
There are aspects of Tarantino's movies that I don't like (such as his weird obsession with feet) but every one I've seen has absolutely nailed the soundtrack. He's unimpeachable in that regard.
My older sister saw it before I did, and she said it made her sick to her stomach. My mom said that she hated, because it grossed her out. Me and dad liked it though. Both historical theaters I was projectionist at had Midnight showings of it before I began working there. One time the projection booth manager saw that I was wearing a Reservoir Dogs shirt and he said "I going to have to tie you up and cut your ear off."
I think that "Jackie Brown" is the best of Tarantino's films. It is based on a book by Elmore Leonard. The film "Out of Sight" with George Clooney is based on another one of Elmore Leonard's books. In it, Michael Keaton plays the same character that he played in "Jackie Brown".
16:47 - Marvin saying "I got a little kid at home" was an ad-lib and it caused Michael Madsen to say 'no no' out of character because - unlike Mr. Blonde - he's a good dude.
If you haven't seen them, both "Species" (1995) with Michael Madsen and "From Dusk Till Dawn" (1996) by Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez are good films for October.
Reservoir Dogs, largely feral dogs that live on the fringes of society like at a reservoir or a trashyard. They are mean, opportunistic and constantly fighting each other.
The cop saying he had a little kid at home was improvised, and if you listen close, you can hear Mr. Blonde saying "no no, don't" just before it cuts to the next angle. That was actually the actor, Michael Madsen, getting too uncomfortable with the scene and telling him to stop. Madsen had a son not long before this was filmed, and the idea that the cop was a dad with a little kid upset him so much that he broke character.
i see someone smoking a cigarette in a movie/tv show, doesn't bother me but when i see them start a cigarette, the act of lighting it up, brings the cravings and i've never been a smoker, at age 18 i bought a pack of smokes that went stale and i threw out, i've bought MAYBE 3 other packs since then that i mostly give to friends/randoms
The movie gets it name from Movie Production companies - they call unsolicited scripts "Reservoir Dogs" ... All those scripts were fighting with each other for attention like dogs trapped in a reservoir...
Fun fact: when this film was still in production, Harvey Weinstein told Tarantino to cut the torture scene because it would have alienated women. As you saw Tarantino refused, but in the end he realized Weinstein was right
Amazing reaction my friend Elizabeth!!....If you decide to react to music in the future, you are the right person to make this reaction to this insane singer!!...In 2017, the music world was shocked by the bursting onto the scene of a 22-year-old singer named Dimash Kudaibergen, who performed on the famous Chinese competition show for professional singers called “The Singer”... It was just It was necessary for this young man to make his first appearance, making a cover of one of the most difficult songs in the world, a famous French composition called "S.O.S. D'un Terrien En Détresse", to be considered from that moment on as the best singer in the entire planet....No one in the musical field had ever seen a human being, being able to reach vocal ranges above 7 octaves and several semitones, that is, all 88 keys of a digital piano, which reaches a little more than 7 octaves and as if that weren't enough, sing the more than 12 languages...Since then all kinds of experts (Vocal coach, analysts, singing teachers, youtubers, reactors, etc.) have dedicated themselves to reviewing their presentations to try to understand how someone can sing this way...The incredible thing is that that presentation in China was in 2017 and 5 years have passed since then, but what Dimash has done in these 5 years is to further improve his wide vocal range, which is currently practically above of the 8 octaves... The Covid pandemic stopped his concerts worldwide, all with tickets sold in just seconds, via the internet, but at the same time it ended up catapulting him to the top of popularity worldwide...Anyway, since I think you are one of those reactors who have not yet met this impressive singer, here is the link of that presentation in China in 2017, with the song S.O.S. and I would like you to mention my name as the person who recommended him to you...You have to be prepared because you ar going to receive an avalanche of views, comments and new subscribers....I leave you one more recent video than the others, so it does not have the same number of views as the previous ones, which have millions of views, but it is a more complete video, with an intro, subtitles in several languages and with the improved quality of audio and sound....ua-cam.com/video/bDX3FhmyNac/v-deo.html
Your channel with soar if you hit the popular comedies and horrors. Everyone wants to see if you'll laugh when they laughed or get scared when they got scared.
The thing about Tarantino, despite all the n-words and the f-words and the extreme violence, his films are essentially comedies, they're very entertaining.
He's like a quirky Scorcese, Wolf of Wallstreet is more of a straight up comedy than anything either of them have done, imo outside of mayeb Pulp Fictio
Liked your reaction, if you're taking suggestions on movies to react to Rounders starring Matt Damon and Ed Norton & it has some other recognizable faces in it as well & there's nowhere near as much violence in it so you don't have to worry about that. If you put it on your list and react to it whenever you get to it on your list I'll subscribe. There is only 1 reaction to it on UA-cam so it won't be like the 500th reaction to Batman.
@@Diadin22 there is 1 reaction to it on UA-cam thanks to me lol, I requested a reaction for it & told her I'd subscribe if she did it & she did so I subscribed, she wasn't the biggest fan of it but she didn't dislike it lol.
Guys, Rounders sucks. Like, be real. It’s an OK movie at best. It’s better than a bucket of dirt. It has some entertainment value. But it’s not great in any way. It certainly isn’t reaction-worthy. I wouldn’t even call the script ‘good enough’ even though it’s nicely performed. Why waste your suggestion on a movie that doesn’t excel in any way at anything ? What a great eight minute reaction that would be.
There are lots of theories about the title: one refers to "Au Revoir Les Enfants" and "Straw Dogs", two films that QT recommended frequently when working at Video Archives. Another is that another word for "reservoir "is "dam", and "dogs" are "sons of b*tches". Put em together, and what have you got?
It's hard, Ringo (Pulp Fiction reference), real hard, but I'm trying to understand why would anyone only watch half of the best Quentin movie and one of the best movies of the 90s that set the tone ("tone", as in the usage found within English literature) for every film maker for the next 20 years. You should stop watching any more movies until you watch it all over again. Gee wiz, Honey-Bunny.
Dope movie & more reactors should react to it, I finally got a reactor to do the 1st reaction of one of my favorite movies on UA-cam after requesting it on a bunch of different channels lol.

you should watch the entire movie of Pulp Fiction
Saludó desde la República Dominicana excelente vídeo👍🏿🇩🇴
The movie gets it name from Movie Production companies - they call unsolicited scripts "Reservoir Dogs" ... All those scripts were fighting with each other for attention like dogs trapped in a reservoir...
I notice that you haven't watched "Jackie Brown" it is a must-see!
You took that well!
Recommend Jackie Brown. Definitely my second favorite Tarantino film, after this one.
Fun fact: when this film was still in production, Harvey Weinstein told Tarantino to cut the torture scene because it would have alienated women. As you saw Tarantino refused, but in the end he realized Weinstein was right
True Romance is Tarantino’s best film…..because he didn’t direct it. But the writing and directing (tony scott - Top Gun etc.) are perfect.
Knowing the guillotine was almost there is such a turn-on.
Awesome reaction
Reservoir Dog is slang for a rat(rodent). In this case it is also a metaphor for being a snitch.
3:25 - 😂
Your channel with soar if you hit the popular comedies and horrors. Everyone wants to see if you'll laugh when they laughed or get scared when they got scared.
The thing about Tarantino, despite all the n-words and the f-words and the extreme violence, his films are essentially comedies, they're very entertaining.
He's like a quirky Scorcese, Wolf of Wallstreet is more of a straight up comedy than anything either of them have done, imo outside of mayeb Pulp Fictio
how are you a mom of five already? I'm 48 and haven't broached that yet
Obviously because 1) she wanted to have five kids and 2) you have not.
Yea i love Rounders I've seen it so many times, its a great movie imo and no one reacts to it. Hopefully that changes.
@@tempsitch5632 yeah, well, that's just like, your opinion man.
Sweet! Mom is back with a big classic!😎🍷🚬👀👍💪🔫
wtf
Hello mom of five 👋🎄🥰🏴
3:23 …aaaaaaaaand B L O O D .
Res Dogs was Tarantino misinterpreting the title of a foreign film, think it was a Truffault film
My mom was an idiot, too.
I both enjoyed and disliked this movie. A visual feast, but I was glad when it ended.
Will you be doing a reaction to Prey (2022)?
Если включить субтитры то просмотров будет на порядок больше)✌
liz, i love you... your husband is right, the movie is bomb
They phacking wit ya!
Great reaction. You should check out Phone Booth. Colin Farrell is awesome in it. And the storyline is absolutely fantastic.
Dope movie & more reactors should react to it, I finally got a reactor to do the 1st reaction of one of my favorite movies on UA-cam after requesting it on a bunch of different channels lol.
LOL
Please don't hide your eyes. The filmmakers WANT you to see it. It's doing a disservice to them.
Have some fire Scarecrow 🔥🔥🔥
Try to do red dawn your going to really like it.
Bonjour de France 🇫🇷 "Reservoir Dogs" very good, I love Tarantino 👍 you h@ve to watch "Pulp fiction" the best for me 👍 Vive le Cinéma 🎬
Agree with the blood. It wasn`t necessary. Actually, all that fake blood makes the film a little cheap.
Are you wearing socks? Lol
