I have had my SDRUM for about 9 months, as long as my last comment here, lol. It is great and I haven't even started using it to write verse/chorus/bridge. I keep making one loop and jamming over that and recording that. I would say you HAVE to get the footswitch to alter things hands free. one setting on the footswitch is actually the ability to change from verse/chorus/bridge by pressing one of the buttons, which I didn't know it could do. easy to use in an easy way, TOTALLY worth learning it more in depth. and the price and sound quality are just amazing. this learning technology is just great, like the band trio and all that. this is really for someone that just needs beats, not a bassline with it, cause if you're a guitarist, you'd probably want your own bassline, but that's another pedal, lol. plus this guy seems really nice and enjoys rocking out, so that's cool too
this pedal is great, so worth it. american musical supply has it for 99 dollars. I run it into my mixer and it is great to have beats made and up running so quick is great inspiration. nothing worse than having to stop and try and make a beat to play over, only to take longer making a beat than you do playing guitar! it is easy to use with a little knowledge. they made it really well and it is a great evolution of drum machines for guitarists.
I've bought it and it's quite amazing. However, more than a how to use it, a video on how to create different drum patterns would be greatly appreciated
Its new technology that has Ruined Good music anyway. depends on what you consider "Good"?Most pop & Dance songs have programed Beats. there's Rap & Dance techno which from a Musicians point of view is all Candy ass sugar coated Pop music & it Sucks.
Or rather: the music industry has changed in a way that original, inventive, risk-taking music doesn't end up on the radio. Technology has given everyone means to write, record, produce and release music from their SMARTPHONES. Just because there's now a sea of diahorrea out there, it doesn't mean there's not incredible and inventive modern music out there too. You just need to 1) do a little digging 2) actually still have an active interest in music beyond what you listened to as a less cynical youth. Judging the entire modern musical output of the world by "the radio" is like saying "all modern literature is rubbish" based on the celebrity autobiography shelf at The Works.
leave it to the older generation to never miss a chance to shit on the younger. im getting old. im gen x and we had some pretty bad music too, but we also had some good in the 90s. everybody shit on it all the time regardless. im pretty sure yall are voicing honestly how you feel because i feel that too sometimes. i think the thing is, music for the most part must be judged by itself to itself. you gotta go in listening while not holding it for comparison with anything you already heard and love and know thats how music must be. you gotta listen like its one of the first rock songs youve been exposed to. kids are able to do that better than we. its really hard to do this but ive found the times i pulled it off its been pretty rewarding.
THANK YOU for addressing how to save a song (multiple songs) - that's one feature that I needed to see how it works in case I'm without a drummer. All videos I have seen do not address saving and recalling songs. Cheers!
I love this pedal. i can't say enough good things about it.first, to compare it to beatbuddy isn't accurate. this pedal is for guitarists/keyboardists/bassists that want to MAKE THEIR OWN BEAT. no matter how simple or complex. the way it builds on what you make is really great and can come up with surprising results. I have used it as only making one beat and jamming over that each time. finally getting into creating songs and everything else and it is just great. the first thing you MUST do is get the FOOTSWITCH. there are some cool features with it, the best one is the setting where you can change from VERSE/CHORUS/BRIDGE with the footswitch. that is great cause you can switch between parts as soon or as long as you like, and you can adjust the complexity of the symbals/hi hats/toms, and stuff for each part, as well as the intensity the drums hit, for each part. it is fairly easy to learn. the fact that it takes a little while is a good sign. it shows it has plenty to offer. I can't recommend it enough. oh, and DON'T PLUG YOUR GUITAR INTO IT. I use it separately! on it's own, into my mixer and tascam 24dp. I also have it raised up so I use the bass and snare button to make the beats. it is a great pedal and a huge leap forward for easy to use drum machines that make your beats better for you
I have the external footswitch but i did discover you can also change from VERSE/CHORUS/BRIDGE with the pedal by itself by pressing the footswitch on the Sdrum*
This guy's a right pro and makes it look EZ. I own one and it's not as simple as he makes it seem.Don't get me wrong it is a cool device but it takes a bit of learning to get it down ,definitely not out of the box ,plug n play.
@@9hk38f Unfortunately as an older guy technology has passed me by.I'm currently trying to figure out DAW recording with Studio One. OMG! Keep at it, you'll figure it out.
wow, this pedal is absolutely amazing. just what I was looking for. I bet I could pair two of these up at once and have up to 24 songs recorded for an entire set. Excellent concept by describing how it would work during a set. This is just so great. It is hard to find drummer in my area, so this was just so cool to see. Relieving. I really appreciate the help.
A review that is actually very useful. You zoomed in as you described what was changing. You'd think all good reviewers would do this vs showing off their bozo riffs. Thank you.
I have to say , also as a bass player this pedal actually sounds pretty damn good for a " drum machine" and does a good job of varying the beats as you play*
Sting from Dune called, said you need to work on your bass playing, and, that he looks better coming out of the sauna. Oh, and Stewart will write his own damn parts. (Seriously, though, this thing is cool. This is the best demo ive seen of this. It pays to have a rep come out and go over some things real quick. Thank you, maybe a follow up on some foot switch stuff.) *and if they could make it midi syncable to other devices beyond the JamMan.
Mykhedelic ***** there is!...you can build a midi cord to make it have basic functionality....of Midi! I believe that there’s a good diagram of the procedure online if you search!...(I have it actually but how can you send photos here huh?)...✌🏾🎶🎸✨Good Luck & Jam on!
Is it useful for progressive metal? And what about the changes of tempos? Can somebody say if can I create different beats with different tempos, record them and then alternate and play over them? Thanks
I bought one of these used back in January, and it worked fine up until about a month ago. Now it gets really quiet. Volume just drops out, and then comes back. It's hooked up to a 1A power supply that tests fine. I've done a factory reset. This thing is just a practice tool for me but it's impossible to use now and I'd rather saw my own head off that go back to using a metronome. Anybody have this problem? Is there a way to fix it?
In other words if you turn knobs the whole time I bought this because it said I could sync it to my Jam man loop pedal and it would automatically play drums,
This Drum Oriented Pedal IS so Cool!! It’s for SERIOUS Musicians whom KNOW Music,..CAN actually “Compose” good tunes without a computer‼️ Get one of these and get into it!! ..and you’ll see what I + others are saying!! Great Tool for Bassists, Guitarsts, Keyboardists and even Drummers!! ..looking for a pedal to key up & assist in a Drum Performance feature or live arrangements‼️ ✨🎛👍🏾😎Bad Ass Cool!!! ..imo‼️🤨👌🏾
First I would like to know why subtitles and machine translation are disabled for this video. Not everyone who watches it is a native English speaker! Also I would like to say that I bought the Nux JC5 drum machine and was disappointed by the scarcity of drum grooves it contains. If it were possible to connect the two pedals and synchronize the rhythms of this drum machine with the beat and buttons of the pedal that I already have, I would buy it.
basically this is is utter flop.. i bought the SDRUM with lot of hope specially the instant feed in of the desired beat..but its nut ..there is nothing for saving as it shows off in same standard demo...if some one can help me.....and moreover all the setting is finger controlled..one expect me to bend down on belly to do setting each time... foolish..
How would you program this to play a beat like this BASS drum on 1-2-3-4 SNARE only on 2 & 4? With the Bass & Snare drum at the SAME TIME on beats 2 & 4? Cheers!
doesn't work like that Marc, looking at manual now, it says you just use the pads NOT THE STRINGS, to play both at the same time, I wanted to know that too. I just got mine and it is fun, 99 bucks from american musical supply
really? 3/4 is your 'experimental' mode? does that mean if i play a 5/4, 7/8 or 11/4 it wont be replayed in the correct meter but will be pressed into either a 4/4 or, huh, a 3/4 ;-)? would have been too good to be true wouldnt it... please let me know. thanks.
Struggling to see the necessity for a stomp shaped drum machine like this which has less features and less workflow flexibility compared to established machines.
not only strum a beat, but program a detailed and precise beat on the fly. Which other pedal does that? I have the Trio+ andf it's good, but the patterns kinda program themselves. Only other option is a sequencer setup that will invaribly be a pain on ther arse.
because, with it in your pedal chain, there is no long stopping to make a beat, which for me is frustrating and can kill my desire to play guitar if I can't make a beat on my sr18, I spend like 20 minutes trying to make a beat, and this thing creates more parts from what you create, which is very clever and something I haven't heard of. for 99 bucks, any assistance with making music is and should be welcome as a musician, right?
How about the kiss principle, keep it simple stupid. It's not practical unless you want to constantly bend over to turn a knob, push a couple tiny buttons, and actually try to play your guitar. Might be ok for creating and recording basic drum tracks, if you only want 4/4 or 3/4 timing without fills, or you just to keep repeating the same rhythm pattern throughout the song, like rap music bleh.

You can program 36 songs. Just keep turning the song selection knob through the first 12 you'll get the second bank and then a third bank.

u´re explanation is great, but u´re groovin guitar play is really "brilliant" ! TOP

Is it possible to use it for home studio recording (demos)?
Uh, can it go back to the verse after the chorus, instead of a bridge? Like in MOST songs? V,C,V,C,B,C???
You can indeed do that, no need for external foot switch. Just doubble tap the footswitch, and the "part" progression moves backwards.
You guys rockYou guys rock
there are enough options to make this interesting, even for recording, lol. it is easy to use, they made it pretty straightforward
Great vid guys, thank you. Can you tell me if the Boss FS-6 double footswitch will work with this?
to save money there isn't an led screen, it would make things like bpm and song number easier. though it does seem like a fun tool for songs
skyflyer thats what kills it for me. I want to know the exact bpm.
Is there any way to skip the bridge and go straight back to the verse?
Does it compliment a bass guitar
Is it useful for progressive metal?
And what about the changes of tempos? Can somebody say if can I create different beats with different tempos, record them and then alternate and play over them? Thanks
Can make the drum sound go through the guitar amp with the guitar?

Can you go back from the chorus to the verse with out going to the bridge.
Yes, just double tap the footswitch.
Yes, simply double tap the switch quickly in succession. Get from verse to bridge the same way.
Muito bom !! Porque não criam um pedal Digitech SDRUM Trio + ? Ia ser foda !!
Concordo!!
Is this a good companion with something like Boss RC3 ? How would you set it up ?
