      Hey Kimberly - thanks for being the first to comment on this video. That is awesome and what I was hoping would happen for several people with this video. If I can save you the cost of a mechanic visit and the frustration of dealing with that with a fairly simple fix using an air compressor to unclog your drain, that is what I was going for! Appreciate you letting me know the video helped!

    Im hoping it's just as easy for someone like me who hasn't run a wire through it in the past. Wish me luck, I'm gonna have to get air compressor out of storage. I'm mostly worried about the sunroof switch. Poor design.

      Hope it works - doing it again, my preference is definitely compressed air but a bent nozzle or elongated nozzle seems to be the best way. Had to unclog again a couple years after making the original video and compressed air worked way better!

      Sure thing - most air compressors will work, but here is a link with several from Amazon: amzn.to/3sKLa7M - the version I used was a Porter Cable pancake air compressor, but you should be able to get away with any of the brands on amazon if you are watching prices closely. Prices have climbed over the last couple years, but compressed air is always good to have for handy folks to inflate tires, use a brad nailer, blow things off, and a variety of other projects. Thanks for your comment!

    will compressed air in a can be powerful enough to unclog it ?

    • @DIYNate
      @DIYNate  Рік тому

      Hey there - Thanks for your comment / question! I doubt a small can of compressed air will do the trick, mostly because the small end that is usually used with those cans will be much smaller than the vehicle's drain port, so while you may shoot air in, the air will escape around the sides when going in, and not create the kind of pressure build-up you want. That said, if the size fits the drain hole or you have some type of adapter, it may give you enough pressure to unstick the clog (probably wouldn't be my first way of trying to solve it though). Good luck - hope you get it fixed!

    IF,, You have a digital radio ie, $700 one, I highly recommend to cover it up so water won't come out and ruin it like it did mine 3 days after i bought it.

      Ouch - that is no fun - sorry to hear your sunroof leak caused your new radio to get ruined! Good tip for anyone experiencing leaking water through their vehicle's roof - it definitely can cause damage to the electronics and other interior features.
