If you have some time for me
Then I will sing a song for you
About ninety-nine balloons
On their way to the horizon
If you happen to be thinking about me
Then I will sing a song for you
About ninety-nine balloons
And that such a thing comes from such a thing [very literal statment wondering how such absurd consequences can come from a little thing]
Ninety-nine balloons
On their way to the horizon
Were thought to be UFOs from space
Therefore a general sent
A flying squadron after them
To sound the alarm if true
Even though on the horizon there were
Only ninety-nine balloons
Ninety-nine jet fighters
Each was a great warrior
They regarded themselves as Captain Kirk
There was a great display of fireworks
The neighbors didn't understand
And soon felt harrassed
Even though on the horizon they were shooting
At ninety-nine balloons
Ninety-nine ministers of war
Match and petrol can (gasoline can) [note: yes, singular is used]
They considered themselves as clever people
Already on the scent of fat quarry
They shouted "War" and wanted power
Man, who would have thought
That someday it would come as far as this
Because of ninety-nine balloons
Ninety-nine years of war
Left no place for victors
There are no more ministers of war
Nor any jet fighters
Today i'm making my rounds
I see the world in ruins
I found a balloon
I think of you and let it fly
Steamrick the singular was used for lyrics/rynme or for any other particulary reason?

Very fun, very '80s mashup. While I'm not normally moved by a lot of 'Top 40' pop music, I've been quite taken with "Take On Me," (pun intended) ever since it was first released. It has an absolute killer hook and, IMHO, the music video for the song is still one of the best-ever examples of the art. Thank you, everyone!
I don't know what happened, but Take On Me went from being a lost gem that you were lucky to hear on the radio more than a handful of times per year to a HUGELY overplayed song that now must be avoided at least 3 times an hour, at least in my local radio market in low-cal, So.Cal. [where the money is plastic & people are too!] Something happened that Bohemian Rhapsodied it, but I don't recall it being featured in a movie a la' what Wayne's World did for _BR_ [and led to a general resurgence of Queen's catalog as well, which is also good, but I wish _BR_ was still a secret known to only the cognisceti instead of being played to death. C'est la vie...]
My god ! Quel souvenir ! Excellent mix !! Merci Jack et Nath !! xx
My brain hurts. The girls got some pipes though.
Omg, my two favorites of that era! Thanks for the incredible mash up!
Nataly and Loren sound *incredible* together. 😍
yup
No they sound like two people mixed up singing
Everyone involved in shooting and editing this video deserve a raise. Oh yeah, and the music is stellar
Nick Campbell is a funky bass player. Really great!
She touches my soul and makes me tingle inside..what an angel. She is so hyper focused.
Посмотрел одно видео из Pomplamoose Mashups и "прилип" на все видео! Получил много положительных эмоций! Спасибо за творчество! I watched one video from Pomplamoose Mashups and "stuck" to all the videos! I got a lot of positive emotions! Thank you for your creativity!
Nataly Dawn is an angle; wonderful presentation. She was really coming for all of us with this music!
Дуже гарно. Дякую!
The. Best.
What a way to resurrect my childhood!
I just discovered you via finding Elise Trouw -> Scary Pockets -> intersecting with having previously followed Postmodern Jukebox, via Kenton Chen. I'm on music discovery overload right now.
You guys are such fun. The music, the choice of covers (w notable mention for the French selection), editing, comedy, ideas, business model focused on creators. All the best to everyone involved in bringing us so much delight!
This is what heaven sounds like.
Hahahaha
I just spent a week traveling, proudly wearing my Pomplamoose sweatshirt all over Canada. Love what you're doing
Hearing "Neunundneunzig Luftballons" in English is so weird O.o
As a young teenager in the early 80's I heard the English version first on Top of the Pops, but when I bought the 7 inch single it had the original German language version on the B side. I've been familiar with both versions for about four fifths of my life, and loved both even though I do not speak German or have any fleeting familiarity with the language. I am also extremely fond of A-Ha's Take on Me so I found this mashup quite satisfying.
I stumbled across these mash-ups on UA-cam, and OMG, I'm so glad that I did! POMPLAMOOSE is now on my Amazon Playlist!
Потрясающая музыка, потрясающие музыканты, потрясающая певица, потрясающая девушка!
Lindos!! Vocês são demais! Baita homenagem com esse revival totalmente novo de um clássico como esses! Massa!!
Does Nataly ever sing cranberries? I bet she has a killer voice to cover Dolores. Awesome work though, love it all!
@Dana S that would be only fantastic and a great tribute to Dolores, May she Rest in Peace.
@@fmcm7715 I thought so too!!
Simply smart and nice... no words ❤ thanks for all team
My favorite version of all! Two of my favorite 80´s songs. Thank you guys!!!!
Been watching you guys for the last 6 months or so, and I wish I'd been following you for longer, you are all totally totally awesome. Love you.
This is a love letter to your Gen-X fans. Thank you.
Haha. I was born in '86 and Jack in '84 so we're right there with you.
Her voice is so smooth and her brain is a genius at arranging how it’s used. Bravo
Tudo que vocês fazem fica lindo...I love you! - Florianópolis - Brasil
This is a perfect soundtrack to go with the footage of China's red balloon being shot down off of the Carolina coast. 🤣 I love the mix of the two songs
Y'all are just way too dang cute together! ..you and your group of friends are amazing musicians. Your songs are fantastic and very well produced. The world is lucky to have you.
Nick Campbell is once again the MVP here! The dude is just so good. Every choice the right one.
Who else heard Nataly say "Stop thinkin' about yourself" after hearing "Step 1"?
I get it. But you made me go back & listen Just In Case it was real! You are a rascally rabbit
This was a very pleasant surprise... Superbly done, thanks!
A song about launching nuclear missiles crossed with a song about trying to get laid that has the most complicated backstory of any synth-pop song in history.
lol!
Yep. Accurate as a MF
So I recently found you (Pomplamoose) and I just LOVE your music and covers. I started following you or subscribed today and bummer I'm too late for the CD thing but Im pretty pumped to hear that album. Seriously, can Nataly be any cuter, beautiful or hotter? I mean that in all ways a person can be - looks, personality, sense of humor.. You a great group! Keep bringing us the music.
Turn up the background vocals a bit please! They're always so quiet...
Background vocals.. Louder? Say it again with me.. Background vocals.
Wow the lyrics are so perfectly clear. Every single word is sung spot on. Thanks guys awesome.

“The heart of your bottom is your anus.”-Jack Conte
the 80s all my youth. Thank you !!!
One of my favorite favorites.. brilliant! Now it's hard to separate the two songs in my head... forever transformed.
How did this work so well great job thank you I am blown away
What an ingenious concept, so beautifully executed.
Oh those played on my Sony tape recorder those days.... Wonderful, you are music angels!!! ✨
I mean, most of what I listen to here is covers and mash-ups, so this feels like a glorious inevitability.
Even my aged ears can appreciate the superior sound reproduction of a cd (played in a quality machine) when compared to a digital music file. Heck, I still listen to my cassettes from the 80's! They sound way better than you remember as well.
