So instead of searching, it will generate answers? Even if those in many cases are incorrect, which was proved many times before?
To be honest I find this a deeply worrying trend. Google continues to move from "curating the worlds information" to "providing the worlds information". This is another step towards not only obscuring where information comes from (has Google scraped it off other sites and is presenting it as its own) but actively diminishing the likelihood of people looking at multiple sources. It's very impressive, appealing and useful but I'm afraid it makes the world even more narrow.
Couldn't of said it better myself.
Now it might add a link to a website, 90% it doesbt work. But it's still stealing. I didn't give any consent to use my content! I'm so angered by this. Twelve years of honest work... Gone.
I love it less annoying ads to deal with that most shifty sites have 😊😅
Unfortunately, the majority of people just want things handed to them... and Google's delivering it!
Ok, now Google AI have the content from multiple sites that runs ads to live.
If the user will not enter the site because Google will just "take" what it needs from it, that site owner will stop making content, because no visits = no money.
In the future, how AI will get the content from, if majority of the content creators will stop creating content?
Or we will read just what Google wants?
unless the google AI scraping data counts as a visit. google should pay scraping fees
Haha, yeah.. good luck with that. Google being this big, it won't ask or pay for anything.
Good point. I hope people will move to other search engine. That is if they don't come up with the same crap as Google.
@@cleliamattana9838 Indeed.. but it's quite hard to break habits... we will see how this will roll out, but this changes will affect all the small / medium site owners.
L'aspetto positivo conto che sia questo: chi scrive per il piacere di fare informazione, e non per soldi, riprenderà l'importanza che merita
‘Features simulated’ 😅 notice at end.
Didn't google face a backlash just recently for faking their "AI" demo? I see that is the new norm.
Have you seen bard? It does this, that just is for safety there @@toggtlas7099
SEO killer
I feel Your pain
Not really. Long story short - job of SEO specialists will be just modified a little bit. AI still needs to get the information from some websites and there will be sources...
Cool, now where is the website I was searching for? Have to scroll down to the end?…. lol
It generates only if you type a question like search if you just type for example apple it just says generate a ai prompt for this search? At the top an d show the website results
If you type the name of the websites. No A. I result will appear. Not to mention you turn off A. I suggestion
did google really suggest that the photographer should open the door and EXPOSE THE FILM????
It says: "Open the back door and gently remove the film if the camera is jammed." How else do you clear a jam? If you really can't risk losing the exposures it's always possible to open it in a darkroom.
@@IanGrams I've been shooting film for a very long time on very old cameras. It has never ever jammed on me. It's a bullshit scenario with even worse bullshit "answers".
If you want to pretend they actually had a problem here that needed solving, it looks like camera reached the end of a roll, which should just be rewound for processing - not exposed and destroyed. Maybe a glace at the film counter would reveal that. But I'm not the director of this particular circus.
I did enjoy the happy-go-lucky shot of the guy taking pictures right after. It's the kind of Dumb and Dumber cringe I'm here for.
@@IanGrams It seems to me like this camera is not jammed at all, rather it ran out of film.
Yesterday it showed me a recap of what I wrote on one of my articles. It prides it to link to the website. Too bad the link wasn't working. All my 12 years of writing CORRECT info from a local, thrown to the bin. My website who gave photos of me trying things in real life now is gone. Congratulations Google for destroying countless years of hard work for a lot of honest content creators!! I hope there will be a lawsuit against this.
Now I can't even edit my answer anymore on mobile? Apologies for my grammar mistakes, I usually write better. But I'm infuriated by this.
Good point, get a lawyer ai does not know.
All I need is a basic search engine. It really doesn't have to be more than that.
Wow, this really creates an opening for an actual search engine from someone else to emerge.
Like how???
@@pacforever2043 because google is dogshit, that's why
It will not find answer for my question, it will find what the advertisers want to sell me
I'm sorry, but this violates the first law of meal prep: a meal cannot be cheap, quick and healthy at the same time, you have to give up at least one.
Yes it's possible. Not everyone lives in NYC
Fruit?
French toast made with bananas and flax instead of egg. Topped with mashed strawberries.
Even on expensive Ezekiel Bread, it costs me about $2.50, is super healthy, and takes me 20 minutes from start to finish. I even have time to make an almond milk smoothie while the toast cooks. Tastes like moist delicious banana bread. 😍
It definitely can be cheap, healthy, and quick. But it def won’t be tasty. Take beans rice and lentils for instance, pop eme in a pot together and your good
@@justinwescott8125So much carbohydrates, and most of them sugars, are anything but healthy. Eat this 3 times a day everyday and type 2 diabetes is for sure.
Interested to see how Googles largest cash cow will be monetised in this new era
U do know that 80% of google search keywords are not monetized right
I believe they're referring to Ads
saw similar announcement on I/O 2023...
Yeah, you're right. It is the same thing but with some downgrading. Now you cannot ask follow-up questions, just summaries of what you are looking for.
Too lazy to read. Just "Find me cute guys near me who will fix my camera"
How much are you willing to pay for a cute guy to fix your camera?
Sounds gay, I'm in!
Gemini: "Searching hot guys near you"
😢
@🎉thibaultmol
When does it roll out to the general public?
It's rolling our periodically I believe
Already rolled out in beta mode.
@@nilesh6137 API access only, right?
They said it available for everyone in the US starting today. Will be available to 1 billion users by the end of the year. No mention of the countries. It’s currently available in more than 120 countries in “Search labs”.
@@MrSchweppes Thanks. Am I right that it's currently API access only?
When will it be available in Greece?
When will it be available worldwide?
Who takes the responsibility for content generated by AI such as answers, recipe and summaries? What if it makes up something which does not exist or leaves out something that is important?
Its usually never wrong. I used it in google labs for like 2 months and its far better than chat gpt cause it pulls the info realtime from articles and other sources. So if the ai is wrong source is most likely wrong. So its no different from searching manually, just faster. I use gemini for my studies and ask stuff i dont understand from it and only time it got it wrong was when i asked a chemestry oxidation no question. Its just really helpfull
@@harithaspidy "It's usually never wrong" = "I couldn't notice when it was wrong"
@@AfonsoBucco i said usually because it got wrong oxidation no question one time because it had to use logic to get the answer(it gave correct answers for maths question that need logic, perfectly i dont know why it got a oxidation no question wrong lol). for all other questions it answered correctly ( i cross reference it with my resource books).
What could possibly go wrong.....
Here comes the Gemini!! Let's brace ourselves guys for how fast, informative and true the searches could be...
언제 이렇게 바뀌나요?
Compelling functionality - maybe in last May. Bing Copilot generates summaries, and Perplexity generates summaries with citations. The Astra videos are way more impressive.
Nah this AI stuff is getting to good for me 💀
The Microsoft copilot is really amazing.
Google is seriously affecting every blogger and content creator. Many have given up and gotten "real jobs." AI is amazing, but it is appropriating all content and Google is not paying the creators of the content. 😮😢
I desperately want this DISABLED.
Will it come out for Android 7? We ran out of support even on the Google app ☹️
Fortunately it hasn't arrived in my country yet
At the end the world will be machines interacting with machines 😢
I am entering in the field of seo/blogging... After this update I don't think so there will be any place for newbies... Should I stop learning seo/blogging? Anyone?
With Google's Gemini Ai, u don't have to think anymore. The thinking will be artificial and hallucinated 😊🎉👍🏽
“One Reddit user suggested jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge” Cool, google.
i like 10 uninterrupted seconds of it loading the results in this *simulated* video at the 1:20, very realistic, and just what i want from my search engine
Thank you, but don't forget about the rest of the world. I read that all the updates are for North Americans.
The latest updates of the search engine that were presented at the previous event are still not available in Europe, for example.
Google: AI CAN SOLVE THE WORLDS PROBLEMS... '
Also Google: WHY DOES MY CANDLE BURN UNEVENLY'?
HOW DOES THIS GET SIGNED OFF?
Cant find it with search without vpn
Tell me when it actually ships, Google has many promises and didn't deliver on most of them
Demos, demos and just demos…
Don't let this distract you from the fact that in 1972 a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire the A-Team.
Under rated comment
I think it's just a blown out version of Google's original AI capability and Google Assistant. I think Chat GPT is more powerful, contextual and intimate.
Oh look, Google stealing people's content and providing the answers right in their results while making tons of money. Thanks, I really appreciated it!
The problem is AI speaks authoritatively, even when it's not sure of the results. It's like that guy that likes to pretend he knows everything and will make up bullshit if necessary.
Takes i'm feeling lucky to another level
What does that even do? I've never tried.

Nice way of ruining any photos you’ve taken, thank you Google.
Second to a google video 📸
Yes. I love me volumes of irrelevant data. Thankfully -ai is still working.
AI will enter the uncanny valley very very soon
So, this PoC finally caught up with what MS Copilot or Bing has offered for a fair while now? 😂
Google workspace is left put of the good stuff again. :(
i cant believe how we are in the middle of a revolution🥺 100 years from now humans will be talking about these in history books, or will they?
if humans dont destoy themselves first

This is Google doing stuff not in the user's interest but they are scared of OpenAI..

Google will add advertisements everywhere and ruin the experience
This is bad. Look at openAi examples. All real-time and just super cool. Mind boggling who is deciding to make these videos.
The start of the end of creativity. Let’s replace humans connecting online with AI, genius!
they forgot to mention how much it actually sucks

Good.
Enough with dead end, shopping results when i search

We're glad you're excited
Microwavable Cheeseburger??!? EWWWWWW
This is what everyone needs
Agreed! The possibilities are endless!
@Google😂 no one really needs this.
This is totally bullshit, Google doesn't put in consideration of the content creators on this project. For instance,
1. How offen does readers click on internal linking?
2. How offen does readers click on link sources or call it referrence?
So , you see, this whole AI shouldn't be applicable to all areas of life. Now even content creators won't bother creating good contents , because it takes time, zeal, money and the profit driving to create good contents .
So why will one be creating good contents again after knowing google takes all the glory. Less traffic and possibly no earnings? Anyways, it may only benefit hotels and e-commerce businesses.
This is total bullshit!
The AI is turning into joke, to ridicule and steal from the content creators. Soon, no genuine information will be out there online if this madness of AI on this regards isn't well thought about 😢
Google detest scrappy contents, but it does it through it's AI.
Google's algorithm sees short contents as not elaborate or relevant. But it does it.
Google is being exposed now, it doesn't do the things it pitches
microwave burger sounds gross
Stealing content from websites to write AI generated content? Wait... Isn't that against the Google search terms?
You can break your own rules.
People will stop making content without visitors. So Google will have no new content in the coming years. The end..
Stealing? It's borrowing. :D
It cites them in the footnotes.
@@StarChaser1879 I don't think it matters to them. Websites being used should get some money everytime their content is used. Otherwise they might as well be doing charity work
Why is my girlfriend reacting like this..
Google presents nothing good, we need pixel devices to be more customizable like Samsung or iPhone now I own a couple pixel devices but I'm tired of them I can't customize too much don't buy more Google Pixel not anymore
Google's AI is sooo bad, it has turned google into Bing.
Why do so many think this is a good idea? I find AI summaries utterly useless because they can't be trusted to not be completely made up.
I don't like this one bit. It is bypassing the real source, it is cherry picking information, and and the ai generation feels clunky compared to just searching the links.
What, what parts were simulated, and what parts weren't? Is this just a tech demo, all smoke and mirrors?
I've been able to use the search features for around 6 months now in beta, it works pretty much as shown. It even generates hyperlinks to the sources it cites so you can go to the real website the info was summarized from. It can definitely be inaccurate tho on occasion, and can get things mixed up with more complex questions. Thr cited sources is nice tho
Get rid of it, or I'm leaving all of your platforms.
Google, again, is far behind OpenAI in terms of innovation! This new search design is so "me too"! Boring!
Ouch that music....
Thank you so much for this video. Super helpful and well-presented. Your time and effort is most appreciated!
Thanks so much for watching from home! We're glad we could bring I/O to you.
