the main reason i like ur videos is coz there is no background music. u keep it simple.

Right? Definitely don’t miss music ha. I mean that would be the antithesis of this whole solo trip somehow. Simple and elegant.

This series should really be called “Campground Cooking” as every episode is what’s for dinner in a beautiful setting.

I enjoyed every moment of this video, and then it occurred to me that Sterling did more living in that one summer day than many of us did in all of awful 2020. Then he capped it off with that thick pink steak, grilled over a fire, on the bank of that river. Glorious!

I’ve enjoyed all of your videos along this trip. I just completed Route 66 from Santa Monica, CA to Chicago, IL. On my way back I headed through WI, MN, SD, MT, ID, NV, and back to my home state of CA.
Your film making has been inspiring to me. The amount of time, planning, setting up shots, etc is something I’ve admired about your videos. I would love to see a “typical day” of what this looks like for you behind the scenes. From the moment you’re riding and see a great shot. Pull over, get the drone out, launch it, scope out the shot, get back on the bike, ride for the shot, get the drone back, etc.
I’m eagerly awaiting the next one. Thanks again for the inspiration.

It’s nice to have someone to ride with but it’s definitely an experience going alone. 95%of my rides
are solo so I’m really enjoying you’re Journey. I feel like I’m sitting right there I can almost taste the steak. Thanks for taking the time and trouble to video. Looking forward for the next one.

Another great video. I laughed there near the end when you talked about the organized campground. It reminded me of myself (we pulled into a campground years ago at Zion and I said the same thing). We ended up driving up a rutted path to an isolated spot on the edge of Gooseberry Mesa. We still talk about the amazing view there. Thanks for the inspiration Sterling. Definitely, going to have to add an adventure bike to the stable.

    Hello Sterling.
Fantastic video as usual! I always ride alone but I will admit that at times I met some pleasant rider to spend sometime with. Depending on the country you are in, how far from home you might be, it is nice at times, to share your last day ride with others around a camp fire, then the next day we all go our different way. Sterling knows about it after having traveled pretty much all around the world! Cheers

Great video. I think you made this trip during the pandemic. If so most of those tourists you saw were day use only. We have been to the Grand Canyon this year 3 times ( once to the North rim and twice to the south ) we had the reservations in advance. What we learned is the camp sites were empty because the quit taking reservations in March. All three times the campground was 10 percent full. The Park was half full with mostly day use tourists. After about 6pm it was desolate. No foreign tourists, no tour busses . It seemed like we had the park with just a handful of other people after 6 pm. Glacier might have been different but I think the GC is a good barometer. Keep the content coming

Thanks for sharing your trip and your insights. I'll probably finish the series tomorrow or certainly by Christmas. A mite too close to the river for me ... maybe cos many rivers and streams where I am at could suddenly swell up sudden like around where I am at during the rains. Very convenient for a dip anyways. That steak looks yummy.

@@SterlingNoren my concern is that it is a sample of a larger problem, five years ago with bats around home, I put up a bat house, haven't seen a bat or the swallows that precede the bats in the evening since. There are very few flying insects in Puget Sound area, so that most trips I ride with the visor up. That is not natural for summer~fall months at all. Whether climate change, loss of habitat or ??? it may portend a bleak future.
