As regard Africa's identity it has two dimensions. The identity that is predestinated in other words, it lies in the Cause and the Will that have determined Africa, I mean God who has created Africa and Africans. And the identity that has been forged by Africans.
The first identity cannot be restored, because it cannot be defiled nor broken. Africa's identity that has its source in God, hasn't been broken nor defiled by the events. Thus, it on this basis the other identity should be restore.
Let's considering that, as human beings, we are in the world as a project which is to assume our humanity. Our humanity in relation to ourselves and our humanity in relation to the One whose will made us be as such, as Africa and as Africans.
An identity that draws from God and man, to live a life that suits beings created by God. A life of freedom and peace, of mutual goodwill and hope. For this, Africa and Africans must be attentive to the situations in their details. Because what has been defiled is dignity. And it is in the details that we must restore this dignity.
Nothing on earth, nothing as human can justify centuries of slavery followed by centuries of colonization that the same peoples, the ssme continent must endured. God who has revealed himself through Jesus Christ is the absolute opposite of such evil, greed and madness.

@dianegreen1937 I very much understand why some of us can ask the question you are asking. Some white people in Africa haven't only betrayed Jesus but also the simple morality. Therefore, we don't have to judge the pertinence of Jesus Christ through the behaviors of predators, organized criminals, and dictators. Because a true Christian, whether he or she white, black, etc, you will see something similar in them. Likewise, those who exploit the name of God have something similar, too.
If we apply Christian principles in Africa, we can transform the continent into a wonder. But if we follow those liars, those hypocrites fill with greed, wickedness, and madness, and who are mocking God and everyone else, we will continue to condemn Christianity while Christianity isn't the problem.
