Driving Auckland to Port Waikato and back, Aotearoa New Zealand

We head to Port Waikato to Sunset Beach to walk to the mouth of the Waikato River.
On the way back we stop at Les Batkin reserve for lunch and then on to Pokeno to buy bacon and sausages. We spare you the drive back on the motorway. You've seen it before.

Do you reckon you could do a drive from Auckland to mount maunganui

The drive between Auckland and Tauranga isn't a great one really. Too much traffic these days. Although the Karangahake is pretty good. So don't have any plans to head back that way anytime soon. But if I do, I will strap the camera to the car and let you know.
