Fun trails for sure. I hear ya on the wide bars though...between MTB and sledding in the trees, I've crushed my right baby finger so many times, I've given up on it.
Could be argued it’s the best single track in southwestern Ontario maybe, but not all of Ontario! Trails in Sault Ste Marie, North Bay and Sudbury are way cooler! Don’t get me wrong I do love the Hydrocut, though! And it’s a WAY closer for me lol
Really good trail system, in the top 15 in Ontario for sure. Needs a section with a longer run of some rough & tumble rocks n roots.. Stress less, ride more!
@@russellj7312 It's a toss up between, Turkey Point, the Don Valley & Harwood Hills. Unfortunately, I think I have to go ride each one at least 50 more times before I can really decide.. Now, all I need is a 30 or 40 more sponsors to cover the expenses. Lol😂😂
I am riding 27.5 but am moving to a 29er. Faster rolling and better over obstacles than 27.5. A lot of different opinions on pros and cons there though. Personally, I would say go 29er if you want more speed, 27.5 if you want a little more playfulness
@@Chewwsky Thanks for the quick reply. local shop by me have a 2021 Giant Trance Advanced but only comes in 27.5. might have to wait till i find a 29er.

@@witchdoktor69 definitely doable depending on your capabilities as a rider. Being a hardtail the rockhopper won’t be very forgiving to your body or itself on some of the bigger features! It’s always worth riding and scoping the features out!
@@Chewwsky thanks. I am 50 so I have been riding for a while. I just never did any jumps. Not even something like 2ft. The trails I have been on just don't have them. But now I am in Woodstock and want to try smaller ones. Definitely going to get some elbow and knee pads. The body will hurt more now if I were to fall. Over the next year or so I will decide if I do enough to warrant a full suspension bike. I have Matt Jones to thank for the jump itch.
These trails look more like blue lines rather than black and double black when compared to trails in BC and Quebec tbh. Small drops and not very technical. Still great Canadian scenery though
Oh absolutely. They are definitely rated based on the relative terrain in the area. These trails would all be green/blue in Quebec or even the west coast.
@@djgolf3256 depends what kind of ‘difficult’ you mean. The hydrocut still has a lot of difficult climbing features and ways of making it more difficult (ie ride faster LOL) If your talking descending then honestly not really. Your best bet would be a lift access park like horseshoe or blue mountain (if it opens this year). Also, three stage is quite challenging I hear. Locally, Puslinch also has many technical climbing trails.
@@Chewwsky I used to bike the hydrocut about 18 years ago in my youth so it was smaller back then and don't remember too much of it but yes it will definitely be good for as a close local trail to get me in shape. I'll be sure to check those out
They're busy, but it's never an issue in terms of having too many people on the trails. You'll mostly see people at the hub areas taking a break, but once you're out doing a trail you'll see a few people pass you. (Or you passing them idk)

Hey man just got a new mtb any trails you'd recommend in South Western Ontario? I love close to London. This trail looks sick its by Kitchener right? just found it on Google maps
That's one of the best cross country trails I've seen. It must get alot of travel to stay cleaned out and keep the wide ultra packed rootless surface.
Rode these in the early 2000’s. I would love to return.
Having fun on these trails lately! Nice video, cheers!
Thanks! I appreciate the feedback

Common you missed the base line there called Emotional Roller coaster! I have to take that one like 5 times in a row! Great video!
