Excellent advice!.I've been playing for a number of years but I still miss notes!I'm trying playing slowly and also without blowing as you have recommended and I think I may have found what I have been doing wrong all these years.Once again thanks for the inspiration!.Cheers Jim

Good advice for solid fingerings. Thank you for not saying to play it harder (band director told us to do that once and everyone got tendonitis). For me, I’ve got one, maybe two sets in me before I put the flute down and pick up the whistle for the tendon pain the flute starts giving me in the wrist. It’s a lot heavier than the classical flute and my classical flutist wife says it might go away eventually. But as far as mechanics goes, can you provide pointers on proper hold for an Irish flute so as to avoid that?

I’ve got a rosewood D flute and after much consideration, I’ve determined that my hands are just too small. Piper’s grip doesn’t work for me. I’ll have to stick to my old high school silver flute and sell this thing…it’s sad, really!
