Access Party vs. Swamp Party: UF Election Results (Spring 2015)

February 25, 2015. 10:30 p.m. History was made at the University of Florida.
This was a night of firsts.
First Latina elected as Student Body President at UF.
First executive ticket from three different racial minority groups.
First time a minority political party won the executive ticket since 1999.
First time UF broke a historic high of 12,742 votes cast in a Student Government election.
124 votes went against the status quo. 124 votes changed the political climate as we know it at this university. 124 votes made history.

MInor correction to make: first time a minority political party won the executive ticket since 2004. Alligator has its history wrong.
Also, first time a minority political party won a majority of the Senate seats. First time two opposing executive candidates each got 6000 votes in the same election. A lot, a lot of firsts. Be proud.

Are there many other Universities with student government political parties? The only others I am aware of are in the Associated Students of the University of California of University of California, Berkeley. I think we should have them at my university to make our elections more fair.
