I wish they did recorded plays for DVD as standard. Imagine being able to see Robin Williams and Steve Martin, and Rik Mayall and Ade Edmonson, at will.. Even if they charged the full price of the ticket for it, I'd pay it to be able to see. Not everyone can make it to the theatre, not everyone is old enough at the time.. I'm gutted I had to miss out on this.
Learned about this play after watching the Bottom Exposed documentary and promptly bought a copy. If you haven't read it yet, I highly recommend doing so and imagining Estragon as Eddie and Vladimir as Richie. You will not be disappointed.
Funny guys, but could they really act? Think the jury's out. Wish I could see this though. It's interesting to hear the comments about the philosophy of their comedy. Deep!
wish someone had filmed the whole play
Saw this on a school trip I think we were all still laughing on the bus home. Honestly one of the funniest things I’ve seen in my whole life.
So jealous

I’ve wanted to see this footage for years. I thought there was none!❤
I still remember this performance. And how I felt.
I saw it at the theatre too. Rik and Ade were fantastic, it's a memory that will stay with me forever.
As Ruby Wax said... Rik is so beautiful it hurts to look at him. The two of them are absolute babes. Still miss Rik.
I wish I’d have been old enough to have seen this in person. I really do.
Nice to see some footage
God I wish I'd seen this. I was only 8 at the time but still would have loved it
I especially would have loved it aged 8. Bottom & Ren & Stimpy were my 2 fave shows at that age.
Waiting for Bottom! Would be great to see the whole play with these two.
I would love to see it too, but I don't think it was ever filmed.
"this is just showing off!" oh yes!
I have never seen a serieus rik mayalll
I was thinking the same thing! There is always a twinkle in his eye and a smirk on his lips normally.
I so wish I'd seen this.
Every time I see a bumble ad i think it says bumhole
Does a full version of Rik and Ade doing this exist anywhere?? Such a shame if it's lost.
Sadly not.
I'd have settled for audio

I would hae loved to have seen Chris Ryan tackling the Lucky monologue.
I'm here because I listen to 'Talking Bottom'
Hello 3 years ago!
Stay where you are btw. It sucks here in '25. 😅
A podcast called 'Talking Bottom' is it?
This stage show should be televised
worth watching
I like the bit when things get confusing with the boots scene.
Damnation......SILENCES!
The bit at the end with the critics genuinely surprised me. Can't win them all, I suppose.
This was just after my 10th Birthday! I'm also the 8,000th viewer, right on!
Actually shocked that the only positive review was, from all places, The Express
Critics know nothing but how to criticize
Well…duh.
Did anyone ever record the whole performance? Would love to see it!
The 2 & a half hours would have passed in any case.
Yes, but not so rapidly.
How is this a new interpretation?
With Ricks departure and the way the world is now - who cares about what the critics say
Clear case of snobbery on the part of the media. Gatekeeping theater.
Plenty of snobbery in those reviews!
Critics being as petty and unselfaware as ever.
McKellern and Stewart did it much better.
Ade and Rik were great, but not in this
Funny guys, but could they really act? Think the jury's out. Wish I could see this though.

Rik should be estragon, not vladimir. I don't think they did this very well by the look of those clips.
