    Those intersector lights are great. Our deputy chief has them, great for intersection visibility and side visibility.

    Some of the new engines, you can see the red lights, in anything, where as the older engines, the lights are a wash, not very visible.

    Blue does not cut through fog better.
    Fog lamps are typically yellow because blue light is useless. Blue scatters too much and causes too much glare.

    can the fire department down there use blue and red? i thought they could only use reds

    • @SIRENNET
      @SIRENNET  10 років тому +1

      Fire & Rescue Departments have been using Blue in Oregon for about 10 years now. Private Medical Service Vehicles are still only legally allowed Red, White and Amber to the rear.

  • @paulsheehan8185
    @paulsheehan8185 Рік тому +1

    Fire should have red and blue, red is the color for stop and danger and blue is fire, light your stove sometime and you might see a blue flame, the blue flame is gas. Police, should all red lights.

    • @Zaltic
      @Zaltic Рік тому

      Red and blue is used by all emergency vehicles because blue and red are on the opposite sides of the color spectrum. Red pierces through beat waves while blue is easier to see at night

    2 questions, where did you get the console for the F150 I cant find one for my 2012 F150? Could you make a plate for the back cab to cover the wires for me and sell it to me?

  • @CaptainJa4804

    I have the same generation of truck. I was wondering how exactly you mounted the siren speaker and if you knew of any other good spots?

    • @SIRENNET
      @SIRENNET  2 роки тому +1

      If we remember right; Star Cars used an SAK1 "L" bracket that was affixed to the lower bumper support cross bar. In our opinion, this area is the best position for a Speaker. If you're not required to have a front license plate in your state, or if you side mount it, it'll be that much louder without the obstruction.

  • @RailsTailsandTrails
    @RailsTailsandTrails 7 років тому

    Where did they bring in the wires to the covered area? Under the cab or route under the carpet?

    I don't really get this. Since you guys are in Oregon (which is in the US), why would you have red and blue LEDs? Why not just red or red and white (for those interior lights on the side)? Although your installations are nice, they don't really make sense to me. Maybe it's just me...

    when Stuart (sorry if I spelled your name wrong) asks Dylan (or Dave) why the vehicle has no tail gate ad he answered saying that the customer had it being striped, what does striped mean? If possible attach a picture please.
    Thanks

    • @SIRENNET
      @SIRENNET  10 років тому

      The End-user is getting reflective vinyl overlaid on the tail-gate. It adds extra safety to the Trucks rear. The "chevron" style is what many Fire and Rescue Rigs have on the rears and front bumpers. Bright vinyl, usually yellows, reds, and oranges, some do get them in reflective blacks, greys and greens.
      With the Truck out in service, it may be a bit tuff for us to catch up to it for a photo.

    How long from the time when you get the vehicle to the time it leaves the shop, does it take for a full installation?

    • @SIRENNET
      @SIRENNET  8 років тому +2

      +SPCGoldsboro2016 Depending on the Vehicle and the Equipment being used in it's build-up, Installation's can range from 10-50 hours. A simple Mini-bar or Beacon Project may only take a few hours where a full Battalion Chief SUV can be 40+ hours.

      An idiotic statement? Me stating that a Private Dealer s selling Fords and Nissans, is idiotic? Haha I never said ford cant sell their own trucks. Dealerships more than likely purchase these vehicles. Just like a dealership near me, they sell Nissans, Chevy's, Fords and Dodges. There are private dealerships and company dealerships. Ford owns numerous dealerships in which they sell ONLY Fords.
