Just ordered me a JD poster to hang on my wall above my instruments, he's the reason I picked up the banjo and my favorite bluegrass banjo player ever! fantastic playing, fantastic human being. thanks for everything JD!!
@@Austin_Garcia it’s an expression, as in JD Crowe’s achievements and talent in the field are so impactful that generations after him will know his work (compared to as if he had written a well-received book on the subject)
Like many banjo players I wish he'd hired someone to help write a book on the subject, thanks to the Banjo Newsletter and folks like Janet Davis to help me understand his style and structure. I can't imagine life without him and his incredible influence. So grateful I have it all on LP and CD etc.
I had the great pleasure of going to church with him a couple of time we live in the same town of nicholasville Kentucky what a wonderful man playing his banjo in heaven he will be greatly missed God bless you sir God bless America

J.D. Crowe: great picker & true gentleman.
Legendary picker.
The way a banjo should be played I love Bluegrass
Beautiful.
Rest In Peace JD Crowe!
Look up The Boxcars. Keith Garret
JD. RIP
look@ the wear on the head of that banjo my cat has played his banjo once or twice
Rip to a legend
I would love to get to pick with jd
Does anyone know who the singer/guitarist is? He has a soft nice voice I could listen to for a lot longer than this.
Keith Garrett , he’s in The Boxcars
The other vocal is John R Bowman. He played with Doyle for awhile. Kieth Garret has a Fraley mandolin like I own. Built by my neighbor John Fraley.
❤
His pickin hand looks like a bird claw
is JD neck on banjo wider than standard ?
Hi Warren, do you know if JD was using his 3 or the 75? I believe they both feature the same inlay pattern, which is why I ask. Thanks!
@@NCyates Thanks Warren.
That was his 75
@@NCyates Thanks Warren, love your rims.
