I heard this version almost 40 years ago but I never caught the name of the symphony that played it. I've searched for years but couldn't find it. Some were close but not the one I heard and I gave up. But finally, I found it!! When the violins start to rise as the piece approaches the end, something inside me soars along with them. No other version does that to me.
The sweetest dream I ever had was of me playing this on a violin. I can still remember it clearly - the violin tucked against my neck, under the side of my face, eyes closed, bow moving across the strings, playing this. I can still feel the upwelling in my heart as I played. The dream feels as strong now as it did when I awoke those many years ago!

The beautiful thing about dreams my friend, is that for every today & tomorrow that we're Blessed to awaken to?
So too, can a dream come true as you pick a violin...
Whether it's for the very first time or the hundredth time...
...and whether it be a group lesson or private lesson?
That upwelling in your heart can be awoken again and again as you pick up a violin and play even if a little piece of Pachelbel's Canon (in D MAJOR of course)...
And perhaps the piece you play?
Will be that very ending you spoke of...
...that very piece, as it approaches the end...
      What a sweet Dream indeed.
And even sweeter as it absolutely can still come true.
      Best wishes...

There is something fundamentally wrong with people who give such beautiful classical music a thumbs down. Whoever you are, I don't want to know you.

The dividing line has been drawn. I'm not against that, it's fundamental to humanity. I just don't think people admit that to themselves, even as they're doing it.

By far my favorite classical piece ever composed. I'm so glad I have the first 8 measures tattooed on my back :) This is real music right here. This is art in its purest form.

I love this music. It is something that shows what true civilization can accomplish.

Played on ancient instruments. Oh so lovely. In my church after the graveside service we all come back to the church hall for a mercy meal .I want this music played during the beginning of the meal with the wine and appetizers . Then some of favorite classical music with the last being a VERY HAPPY MARCH!!

A beloved Friend played this on her cello, and I would greet her with a CD version of it when she visited me. A couple of years after we met, breast cancer got her. I still see her sometimes hovering over me, her sweet smile watching me.

When our daughter was a baby she had really bad colic and when it hit the only way she could get relief was for me to walk around sometimes for hours with her wrapped up in my house coat pressed up to me with Canon playing. What made it interesting was the song on the album after was the Trumpeters Volitare.
She is now 36 and still loves to hear Canonu.
