Firefly makes its official debut at KLIA!

On 16 June 2024, Firefly has launched a new route flights between Penang and KLIA with a B737-800 as a code-share flight with Malaysia Airlines.
The Hedgehog boarded the first day of Firefly's debut flight to KLIA and enjoyed free refreshments and the purchase of the B737 model airplane.

Firefly will add B737 flights to Subang, one Penang-Subang flight will be operated with B737, they will also add a new route from Kota Kinabalu to Subang

According to flightradar24, Firefly has started jet operations at Subang Airport today, the inaugural flight, Flight FY2875 from Penang to Kuala Lumpur Subang, landed at Subang Airport at 3:01pm, operated by a Boeing 737-800, registered as 9M-MLI,now we have another jet operator at Subang, and their Kota Kinabalu-Kuala Lumpur Subang flight will begin on 29 August
Now they seem to be expanding flights to KLIA while flying with B737s to Subang, which is... uhhh, i dont know how to describe it 😅

去年5月スバン空港からコタバルまでファイアーフライ航空利用しました。機体はプロペラ機ATR72−500でした。てっきりLCCと思って搭乗したら、水とスナックのサービスがあり、良かったです。ただし定刻より約3時間遅れの出発でした^_^。

That’s sounds interesting.
For MASWings to come to KLIA, they might need new fleets that fits the world class airport scale, and distinctive destinations that differentiates from MAS.

Firefly may now be in the phase of showing more B737s with their logo to more passengers. Once that phase is over, I would like to see a more various designs.

Should Firefly discontinue flights to Seletar and just move all Singapore flights to Changi Airport? Since they are adding B737 flights from Subang they can just move to SIN and their SZB-SIN flights can be operated with just like 1-2 daily frequency with the Boeing 737, they will be able to switch their ATR 72 planes to operate on other short routes like Penang-Langkawi, as their Penang-Banda Aceh and Penang-Kota Bharu flights are how operated with ATR 72s, besides i feel like Seletar Airport having just one flight for a private jet airport dont really seem the best idea as it seems that those flights are extremely seperated and isolated and transiting to Changi would need people to pass immigration and take more time on transportation

I would love to experience the inaugural flight if I get the chance.
Although I am working in Kuala Lumpur and my schedule may not allow me to do so.
Since it was the holiday season, many passengers were on board.

As far as I have checked the in-flight announcements and safety cards, Firefly should not prohibit recording takeoffs and landings.
Passengers should only need to set it to Airplane Mode.

Maybe not, they are adding routes from KUL, they already added Haikou and Nanjing flights from Kuala Lumpur, beginning today and on Thursday respectively

Maybe one day Firefly will operate B737 from two airports, KLIA and Subang.
Plus I would love to experience a special event flights like KUL-SZB.
