Personally living in Jackson county, a lot has changed. It’s kinda like a ghost town now. All the buildings are worn down. I really wish I could have experienced Jackson county in its prime
Jackson County used to be a quaint little place, tucked away in the hills and seemingly never aging. We had a running joke that if you drove thru Mckee and blinked, you'd miss the whole town. Life was like Andy Griffith's Mayberry; everybody knew everybody and you didn't have to lock your doors at night. But growth was super, super slow there. Not much changed for years at a time and when change DID finally come, it was like an awakening. But I think a lot of folks left there because there was just nothing there to build a life on.
