For those saying the values are wrong at the circa 6 minute mark, the end value of 43.232mA is actually correct. However the error lies with the resistance value used to divide by. On the example the combined impedance of ZL1, ZC2 in parallel with ZR1 was used (449.11 Ohmz < -17.147) when the value of resistance for just the ZL1 and ZC2 should have been used (1523.3 Ohmz < -90) which then gives approximately 43.232mA. Hope this helps.

I just understood in a couple of minutes what I could not get sort of two semesters. Thank you for your explanation.

I thought I was never going to understand this, but you where able to explain it to me in litteral minutes. Thank you for saving me (for my exam)

Keep increasing the difficulty. They are still a little on the easy side. I wouldn't mind seeing some Laplace Transforms, transfer functions and filters hashed out quite a bit. But hey, it's free. Can't complain too much. Nice work :)

I appreciate that feedback. There are so many topics to cover I sometimes don't know what to do next. I've been trying to pick a general topic and then try to work through it (e.g. AC circuits), but sometimes I get bored and like to jump around to other things. Focusing on op amps right now

You can do the same exercise by using the laplace form for the impendences. Like, 1/sC for the capacitor and sL for the inductor and work out the math from there by having s=jw. Once you've grasped the concept of equivalent circuits/impedences it's not that difficult.

This was the best example problem about this topic that I've watched so far. Thank you.

Your calculations is right, but there's a small error when you find current across second impedance Ic2=Il1 you forgot to put the right value

    Hii,
Can you please make a video if i want use it for my filter circuit, the parameters available with me only the resonance frequency and frequency band, then how will select each and every component of this circuit? What are the data required for calculating the component values ?
I am using this circuit at the output of full bridge rectifier.

great explanation, i have a similar problem but i want to make sure i dont mix up my parallel components, my C2 and L1 is reversed with your R1, although do i need to go through all these steps to plot the resonance freq on a graph ?

    Sir you made mistake
When you written C1 4.7MF but when finding capacitive reactance that time you use C2 value

Thank you for this tutorial. It was very helpful. It would be interesting to see a similar example in a 50 ohm system (e.g. 50 Ohm signal generator and 50 Ohm load).
I think you might have an error around 6:11 when calculating iL1 and IC2. You calculated a magnitude of 43.232mA at an angle of 131.22 degrees. I believe it should be 0.147 at an angle of 58.367 degrees. This also screwed up the final voltages across L1 and C2.
    Thanks again.

I also spotted the possible error at 6:05
