We have suffered long enough Bears fans. We shall suffer no longer. BEAR DOWN!!
Facts bro…I’m tired of the bears being the laughing stock of the NFL league
Respect
Bear down
Isn’t that what you said last year along with the Jets.
@@mikebuschek925 I think you're in the wrong comment section
Coming from an Iowa fan, Tory Taylor was the reason we won so many games. He’s incredible
Some people don't know but he's amazing player 🎯, he will help defense
Todd Sauerbrun was "incredible" in college too. He was a huge bust in a Bears uniform. Check your Iowa fandom at the door.
@@walterbison he was alright, I meet him, he was really cool, not going to say anything about him.
Damn as a big time bears fan that’s good to hear we’ve lost games cuz of missed fields goals as well too
I like this pick.
I love the Tory Taylor pick - a good punter is worth his weight in gold footballs.
Kiran Amegadjie's twitter history suggests he's a meatball Bears fan - the guy is literally one of us, screaming at his TV about the pass protection and playcalling
yeah, at one point he wrote, release the entire OLine. LOL i feel you bro i feel you. Well nows his chance to improve that OLine!
Needed a guard and center more.
Not sure why drafting the best college punter ever when we were the worst punting team in the league is a C+ grade
Yeah I stopped taking him seriously after that. The kid had a 4th round grade he was that good. We didn’t reach, if we didn’t snag him someone else was about to.
Punters are a dime a dozen. Your punter only sucks because your gm sucks at drafting punters. And he drafted another 1. Don’t cry when Caleb is getting hit 15x a game because you have no o line depth.
@@lucrative6477 tell us you don’t know ball without telling us you don’t know ball
@@lucrative6477it’s one pick. A 4th round offensive tackle typically isn’t making as big an impact as quite literally one of the greatest college punters ever. Use your brain. There’s also no denying it’ll translate to the NFL because all he does is literally kick a football. Smart pick by poles. A pro bowl level punter at the very least, is also not a dime a dozen.
I like the punter pick. Trench guys this late never really work. They may have missed a good starting safety though. I think a punter is fine
The Tory Taylor pick is a B/B+ pick. It’s insane that you’re talking it down simply because he’s a punter. He’s THE Punter. Absolute weapon. You’ll see.
I give your analysis a C. Needs to be at least a B to get a sub, so… better luck next time.
Some people don't understand about punting how it works out for your team if you have one, he was Iowa MVP last year and some people don't watch CFB either
Loved the Taylor pick. Special teams is huge; especially with our improving D…
The booker pick was my favorite
Who would passs on Ray Guy 2.0 ? Yeah, TT won the Ray Guy award . BEARS also jumped the Packers, Steelers, and Pats . Maybe more teams .
@gilliewilson- do you believe in the tooth fairy too?
GREAT pick up
here comes the negativity .....smfh...it's always 1
The Bears all time points leader is Robbie Gould. He unseated Kevin Butler. Kickers in the NFL matter. A 4th round pick has what percentage of starting potential in the NFL? If this guy can pin teams at the 10-20 yard line consistently then he is well worth a freaking 4th round pick
But how is the food at the Stadium? I have priorities.
There are some REALLY good kickers showing their stuff in the UFL right now. Maybe Bears should try out one of those. If you can kick--you can kick--doesn't matter what league you're in. A few of these guys are going to be on NFL rosters next year.
Tory Taylor’s grade should be a B as well. We needed a punter, and the one we have sucks. Special teams does play a huge role as well.
I can't believe we actually got Tory Taylor, so happy #PuntGod
No more having to deal with the same video every day! Woo!
yet we are still hearing the "i mean look man, his screensaver tho"
Surprised Harrison didn't mention that the 144th pick originally belonged to the Bears, but they traded it to Buffalo for OL Ryan Bates in the offseason. So the Bills trade it back to the Bears for a 2025 4th round pick, and the Bears grab the bargain valued Austin Booker. Those are some pretty sharp moves by Ryan Poles.
@clubmogambo- Booker was ranked from mid 3rd to 4th round and they traded a 4th to get him.
@@ttaylor758 Correction, they traded a 2025 4th round, which devalues the pick by the equivalent of a round. And remember, we still got Ryan Bates in essence for nothing. There's no disputing we made out really well on that whole transaction.
@@clubmogambo3214thank u!🧡🏈💪🏾
Yes, the Bears ended up tradong their 2025 4th round pick to the Bills for Ryan Bates and Austin Booker. Appears to be a good deal.
@@clubmogambo3214that whole devalue thing for a next year pick is BS. So this years first from Carolina was worth a 2nd? But we got Caleb Williams? You can’t mortgage the future and then say it’s ok because it’s a devalued pick.
Technically this was the Bears’ 2024 Draft:
Rd 1: QB Caleb Williams / WR Rome Odunze
Rd 2: EDGE Montez Sweat
Rd 3: OT Kiran Amegadije
Rd 4: WR Keenan Allen / P Tory Taylor
Rd 5: IOL Ryan Bates / EDGE Austin Booker
Rd 6: IOL Dan Feeney
Rd 7: WR N’Keal Harry
-
Easy ‘A’ Grade for Ryan Poles despite the Day3 “busts” in Feeney and Harry 😅🎉
-
10 players acquired from 7 original draft picks! Getting Sweat // Allen // Williams // Odunze was a master class from across a single year-plus (03/2023 to 04/2024) in moves from Chicago GM, Ryan Poles
Solid moves. It is from 8 picks including the 4th round pick in 2025.
Kind of like the movie "Draft Day."
Your grade Harrison on Taylor is wrong. If you paid close attention last year, you surely know we had one terrible punter. Tory's placement, long high punts, inside the 20, could be 3-10 points a game difference than last year. FG for the opponents instead of TD's. Field position will be drastically improved. I give this pick an A.
It could have won us the Cleveland, Detroit and Denver game, he's going to be a great player 🎯 All pro max
Also to add Taylor will be extra valuable for the new kickoff design where pinpoint placement matters and not "booting" it. Hightower probably made that a priority with Poles since Hightower was one who advocated for this rule change to NFL and is already envisioning the strategic importance of this.
Loved the Taylor pick. Ability to flip the field is HUGE! We didn't even come close to that with Gill
Tory Taylor was the best punter in college A+
Poles crushed the draft this year !! Yes to Taylor the Iowa punter , great pick ! The only reason Iowa won 10 games last year was due to the defense and the punter ! Offense was terrible, but thanks to Taylor booming punts that pinned the opposition near the goal line it helped the defense to limit the opposition in moving the ball which gave it back to Iowas offense alot of times around the midfield and gave Iowa a better opportunity to score . Again in my opinion a great pick and then to pick up an edge in the 5 th round was a big surprise to me !!!!
A+ over all? I was not pulling my hair out and swearing at the tv.I was cheering Da Bears lets go.
People are going to give Taylor pick a A++++ after they see what he can do for this team. He was literally the Iowa Hawkeyes offense. He had 1,000 more yards than the offense. In the South Dakota State game. The Hawkeyes won the game 7-3. 4 of the points came from 2 safeties and the other 3 points from a Iowa field goal all because how good of a punter he is. Iowa literally won most of their game because of him and their defense. This kid will be a top 10 if not top 5 punter his rookie season.
Taylor is amazing, going to be All pro max
PEOPLE UNDERESTIMATE SPECIAL TEAMS!
@@peggymartinez-hg9lm we had a better special teams,we been a playoff team , now we have it
This kid punt the ball as high or higher then HOF punter Ray Guy. Ray was a first round pick for the Raider.
Y. LOVE the Tory Taylor pick. Having a punter that can pin the opponent deep with a defense like we have. AND not to mention the fire power we have on offense anyways. Three phases. Getting a stud like this for the special teams side of things is awesome.
Caleb and Rome LETS GO!!!
Most Dynamic Super Duo ever assembled.
I’m not huge into drafting punters, but I trust Big Pole Poles. If he thinks it was needed, we shouldn’t question it or the grade.
We needed it. It's not a sexy pick, but field position is often the difference in close games especially when defenses get tired. We had pretty much the worst yards per punt in the league last year
I like that we got Taylor just not where we got him. It was our last pick and we didn't take any d yet, so I was worried. Happy that they traded in for that edge. I like Austin quite a bit.
If we didn’t get him there, we weren’t getting him. He was projected 4th round. For a punter, that says a lot. He’s an absolute game changer.
I like it the punter pickup. Field position + our defense is scary 🔥
Im glad we got the punter from Iowa. No complaints here
Yes for Tory Taylor! He definitely flips the field and helps take some pressure off of the defense. Whenever you have a weapon like Taylor that has a leg to pin the Fudgepackers as deep as possible and make them earn those yards, you get the guy!
We got a franchise QB, WR and Punter. Can’t ask for a better draft. Go Bears 🐻 😊
A grade across the board! This draft honestly could not have gone any better for this team 🐻⬇️
I give an A PLUS PLUS PLUS PLUS. Poles has set our franchise up for years to come! Bear down!
Tory taylor is gonna win games for chi it’s gonna be great to watch
With all the 3 an outs the bears have he will get a lot of time
Bears fans are going to love Rome Odunze. He is a cut above with great route running and amazing hands to the ball. He is also an intelligent and mature gentleman. I followed him this year with the Huskies.
Poles drafted Gill, this has to be a record for a GM to actually draft 2 punters out of 3 drafts😂
Did you like the Tory Taylor pick? Type ‘Y’ for Yes or ‘N’ for No
Yes. Getting 3 starters with only 4 picks coming into the draft is impressive.
Yes
Y
I like the pick, in fact I like it a lot. But I would have loved it at a later round.
Yes
10 I haven't been fired up for DaBears in a minute. Man Caleb is the next legend in the making and I am so proud for our City for drafting true players.
I was disappointed by the Bears moving on from Fields. But,now that the draft is over, it's become obvious that the Bears have their sights set on the playoffs this year. No messing around. I like it. It took some time, but I'm starting to get on board with our new quarterback. If he's as good as they say he is,we'll have a winner this year. I'm starting to believe he can really be that guy. I'm in.
U STILL TALKING ABOUT THAT BUST LIKE AN EX WIFE OR GF! ITS A SICKNESS MY FRIEND!
I think the Draft by the Bears this year was great. Obviously Williams + Odunze are going to be a great weapon for a very long time.
I like the Kiran Amegadjie pick, I don't expect to see much out of him this season, especially since in the Ivy league he was beating up on a bunch of 5'8" 130 pound guys, but he is coachable and a hometown kid will give a little more for his hometown team.
I questioned the Tory Taylor pick at first, until I looked the kid up. Phenomenal at the position. What he did for Iowa literally won them most of their games this season
And I thought we were done there, but trading back in to pick up Booker was a great move, he's shown to be a producer, hes young and can still learn so much that could make him "that guy" on defense
Also, I believe we still have 7 picks in next years draft. a first rounder, a few 2s then obviously some a little further back. We're in a good spot.
Got a starter in the 4th and he is a stud day 1. I give it a A
All 3 WR can play inside and out side unbelievable then add the TE position and the RB position all can catch passes. Best offense the bears have had.
And QB that can throw yeah we winning BIG TIME🧡🏈💪🏾
You had great draft coverage and you gained a subscriber. Thank you.
Tory Taylor is a future HoF punter. I’m not mad at all. I feel bad for Gill though such a good guy and we love him but Taylor has a leg up on the competition haha
Y
I loved it cause not only is it an upgrade, but you picked up the best punter in years
Yes, I like the Taylor pick. Having a great punter is underrated.
For now Kiran is your Larry Borom replacement.
Don’t forget 2nd round pick went for Sweat and 4th round pick for Keenan Allen
As an Iowa alumni, Tory is a stud. The home crowd would cheer when he came on the field.
I had Tory Taylor as an A grade. Together with Rome receiving punts/kicks( hopefully ), our Special Teams has taken a HUGE leap forward.
Poles has improved the team in all 3 phases.
🐻⬇️
We NEEDED a punter, Taylor is that guy at that position. He might turn our special teams around.
C+? Yeah Harrison your another one, I just don't get how some undervalue the punter? He is a generational punter! He will immediately be in the top five in the NFL and maybe a few years down the road he might be the best. So all those punts we had last season that landed on the 35 and 40 yard line are now going to be put inside the 20 or 10 yd line. Field position is so huge in a football game. I really like the pick. Honestly there's probably a good chance he wouldn't have been there in the next round so taking him there at 122 makes sense to me!
I live in Iowa and watched a bunch of their games. Taylor was literally their best offensive player. Single handily won them games
Let's go win the division BEAR DOWN!!!!!
I love everything Poles draft picks
I'll believe it when I see it. Every year the "experts" claim the Bears had a good draft and they're going to be a formidable team. So far it hasn't translated into any winning seasons.
As an Iowa fan Tory Taylor single handedly won us football games not even going to lie to you, side note Iowa has been catching strays this entire draft cycle 🤣
Keenan and Rome on the outside, DJ in the slot. I wouldn't want to have to defend that!
I love the Taylor pick. It has been common knowledge for a while that this draft, starting in the fourth round, dropped off in talent dramatically. Poles himself said so. Before the fifth round trade, this was their last pick, and to walk away with the best player on the drafte at his position is a steal. Ultimately, from fuve picks, you get three starters. That's a solid return.
Of course Poles said that, because you had so few picks
I might be a biased Iowa Fan, but Tory Taylor was the only way I made it through Hawkeye games. Seeing him punt was the only glimmer of hope we had to win games along with our defense. Also, bro is a massive human being
this sounds dark if the punter was the best shot to win 💀
The punter pick should be A+ he is a generational talent that can take over a game with his leg 💯
I love picking players that were fans of the team it makes it feel more personal
Yes. Taylor was a Great pick. Brilliant move! Field position is important. Most football games are decided by less than 7 points. This can decide a few games which may make a huge difference.
New QB, new stadium, wife has a BBL….. life is good
I like the Tory Taylor pick. It fills a position need and gives us a starter. Punters are important for our defense and he'll make an immediate impact. Also, seen in most mock drafts that he was slotted to go right around pick 140 or so. So not bad for the value!!
I have been following the NFL draft since before it was televised. (Yes, I am older than hell) This is one of those drafts that will be looked back on as dynasty builder. I have seen them before, I know what they look like, THIS is exactly what they look like!!!!!
I know he's a punter but that dude is a massive weapon in the field position battle. He's a difference makerb DAY 1!!!
This draft is easily an A….Taylor is gonna be the stud of this draft, and of the league. He will win games for this team!!
Y. A great punter can help make up for some defensive shortcomings.
Loved it. Helps oth offense and defense!
I don't see how this offense won't be Nasty as hell next year
TORY TAYLOR IS A FUCKING BEAST!!! WE DIDN'T HAVE ANY OTHER PICKS. SO WE HAD TO TAKE HIM AT #122!!!
Y.. however I live in Iowa City.. our offense was so bad, we have "punting is winning" shirts.. he also pinned the ball like nobody else, and is a big reason with the worst offense in the country, we still made the big ten title game 2 out of the last 3 years.. no joke
You forgot several picks. 2nd for Sweat, 4th for Allen, and some player rental for OL. The draft is an A++ once you cover the entire draft.
I like our 2024 draft
Good job Poles, Flus, staff.
Forth round is too high for a punter not named Ray Guy
10 extremely excited about both Williams and Odunze
I like the Tory Taylor pick. Field position is a big part of Football strategy. Booker is still a project, he has ability but he needs to be coached up.
It's an obvious 10
Next draft is deep with gr8 lineman poles is doing a great job
Our punting stats put us dead last in the league in that category overall so we addressed a glaring need with a supreme talent at that position. Im good with it.
I thought for the small number of picks they had, the Bears did well.
Tory Taylor is at least a "B".
When you can get the BEST at any position at #122, you take it.
PLUS -- you are like a lot of people who disregard the kicking game.
Punters can win and lose games.
If you have a bad punter, your offense will need 50+ more yards to make up for it.
If you have a great punter, that is probably 50 + yards you DON"T have to make.
I was stunned by the pick. Initial response was "yecch".
More I think about it, the more I like it.
If you look at the Bears 4th round picks in recent history many have been a bust. Troy Taylor is elite. Field position near the goal line compared to the 25 is huge. My overall draft score is B+. Poles will get more studs in FA.
yes people wanna come now and play hard....winning culture🧡🏈🙏🏾
The Bears killed the draft. It’s their best draft they’ve had since the early eighties.
I hate the CW criticism!
#1 thing I’ve learned in life so far is nothing happens by chance.
You can’t hope for great outcomes with a normal mindset.
If you want great things in life you can play the lottery and hope to get insanely lucky or you can set great goals, put EVERYTHING you have into it CONSISTENTLY, dont listen to anyone who says it isn’t realistic, stay focused, stay hungry, stay motivated and don’t ever STOP until the goal has been reached!
TT pick is a solid B before getting the other need of an Edge with the trade back in. The value of Booker at 144 might make the Punter pick an A. I was confused at the timing but like it’s been said he is a Day 1 starter with game changing skill sets.
The punter is the top pick of Poles average GM tenure. Taylor raises this draft grade an entire letter grade to a solid B
Tory Taylor was rumored to get drafted by the bears for weeks by the local media. I’m not shocked. Watch the highlights. He’s a weapon. When he starts pinning offenses in their within their own 5 yard line the pick will make sense.
I disagree with you on the Taylor grade. He shores up a huge weakness. You do not have any guarantees of getting back in the draft and you got the best player at a need position. I would go a B at the very least.
WOW I'm ready
I like the Tory Taylor pick. Offense and defense should both be top ten. Field position will be huge. I give him a B for this pick.
Man haven’t been this excited since the Lovie days…. Except no Sexy Rexy to ruin everything
THE TRUTH IS NO JF1 TO RUIN THEM!!!!!
I hope Pole is out there grabbing some of this UDFA WR class... Theres some day 2 talent out there for free.😊
I did not like the Taylor pick because I wanted Booker at 122. But when they traded back in and got Booker at 144 the Taylor pick looks great.
A punter is like a kicker, under appreciated until you don’t have one. For years Gould was the guy that Bears fans mention as the ex-Bear they miss the most. Yet nobody shed any tears when he was released, and nobody raised a fuss when Pace didn’t adequately address the void that was left. It took us years to finally find some stability at the kicker position, and I think folks are appreciative of the position now. If Taylor can become one of the best punters in the league and help our defense when our offense stalls out, then I’m ok with it considering most day 3 picks aren’t starter material anyway. I don’t love the pick, but I don’t hate it.
what do you mean, there was tons of noise when he was released. We were not happy and it immediately came back to bite the very next year with the double doink.
Kicker was the main thing everyone was talking about for that whole season since Cody Parkey had a habit of doinks & even lost them a game earlier in the year off a missed kick
@@kneesnap1041 you proved my point. The noise and complaint from Bears fans was from 2018 TWO FULL SEASONS after Gould was released, and hardly immediately after. Gould was released after 2015, and he actually played a season for the Giants before he went to Niners and Bears fans started to miss him. Like I said, nobody noticed he was missing for 2+ years until he was missed.
@@fixindan3592 While I see your point, and I did mix up the years, I think there's a middle ground here. I remember it in 2018 because that's when it bit us in such a huge fashion.
I do remember being upset when we cut Gould too though, and there being talk about how we had no replacements. We cut him and we paid the consequences for it, even if it took a little while before we were competitive enough to feel those consequences.
Part of the reason I find it hard to agree with this is how much media attention it got that Robbie Gould was our all-time highest scorer. How he scored more points than our actual offensive touchdowns. Etc. It felt pretty clear how important our kicking was at the time. But this is just the perspective of me, a single person. It seems you've experienced something different.
@@kneesnap1041 what I remember of it was yes, there was some media coverage of his release purely because he was the all time scoring leader who played I think 10+ years in Chicago, the media coverage definitely wasn’t “Pace messed up big time by releasing him and not getting a quality replacement” when it happened, and had Gould not played as long as he had in Chicago I doubt there would’ve been any media coverage at all. As a matter of fact I remember people were on board releasing him because I think he struggled in his last year in Chicago. I definitely don’t think Pace got any criticism for the release until Bears were contending and their kicker couldn’t kick for 💩.
@@fixindan3592Hmm actually yeah I agree now actually. I do remember there being criticism, but it wasn't ever the level of "this is a big problem", which it probably should have been.
Caleb - A, Rome - D+, Kiran - A, Tory - C, Booker - B. The Rome grade isn't completely based on his ability. Our Bears passed on a perfect opportunity to trade down. Could have gone down only 2 spots and get a 2nd rounder. Laiatu Latu and a quality WR in the 2nd would have been a better decision. Tory could have been had in the 5th. Couldn't we get a trade down at that point? As for Booker, I'm on board with it as long as they expect him to get solid playing time THIS year. A completely developmental guy isn't worth a future 4th. So if we pass on signing a free agent DE and plan on Booker contributing this year, then it's a good pick. If we are getting a free agent and this guy sits on the bench, then it's a bad choice.
Honestly I love the Austin pick I wouldn’t have been upset with him in the third😅
Y punter pick was alot more then what we had as a P was an upgrade.
I give Pole's draft an A-, mostly because it was going to be impossible to fix every issue and he did the right thing in prioritizing offense. But I do have some concerns...
1: Interior O-line is still a glaring issue, both the depth and especially starting Center. Unless they move Borom to backup Guard (they should), depth is better than last year but still not good enough. And we still need a long-term QUALITY fix at Center. A 'good enough' O-line isn't good enough any more.
2: I don't fault the Odunze+Amegadjie picks, but I do wonder if Fashanu+McMillan will end up being a more productive pair. Time will tell. Taking Odunze over Fashanu is definitely an endorsement for Braxton Jones. Time will tell.
Overall this was a good draft. We got 2 blue chip players in Williams and Odunze. A special teams stud and 2 rotational guys who we can develop into starters.
Y - Assuming he performs the way we expect him to, he will be a top punter. The Bears, at this point, need more top players, not more kinda good players or just a guy players. The question is whether they could have got him later in the draft - take Booker at #122, and then trade a 5th next year for a 6th to take Taylor.
Y, we need impact at all positions
Yes a punter is a critical position it affects field position
