This is what happens when we value numbers over quality. 10 well-trained, well paid professional officers physically and mentally fit would have ended this thing in 5 minutes. Hiring 400 poorly trained, low physical, and mental standards gets you very little protection even if you do arm them to the teeth. As you can see, all those guns and gear did not give them the courage to do their job.
Hell, less than 10 well-trained, well paid, professional officers who are physically and mentally fit could've ended that nightmare in under 5 minutes flat. What a total abject FAILURE.
I agree. Total failure. I bet if the parents stormed that class you would have a few parents that would go down, but more kids would have made it. So sad.

Almost 400 LEOs rush to the school then don't bother to try and organize themselves. Like state senator Gutierrez said, who were the guys seen with their phones out, talking to? A lot of them were seen just standing around looking like spectators. Some people are saying that it looked like they were told to stand down by a higher up, a state official. The guys outside were not just waiting around for small town School police chief Arredondo to tell them what to do. Some are wondering how did 400 from 17 local, state and federal agencies get to the school so fast? Also there were SWAT teams there before BORTAC showed up. It almost looked like they wanted Border Patrol to be the ones to take the shot. The 10 Billion dollar Operation Lone Star project had 91 people there. Was the BORTAC team part of them? Is that why everyone waited for them to take the shot and get the credit?? These are some of the questions folks from Texas are raising on line.
Two companies' worth of police and for what? Police were already on the scene BEFORE the gunman entered the building. Defund the police, shut down that precinct, fire and ban all involved from working in law enforcement and military service. It's a national tragedy and a disgrace.
Q: " _Why Did It Take 77 Minutes to Confront Gunman?_ " A: Cowardice. Cops don't take oaths, instead, they just tell another lie ... AGAIN! It's legal for them to violate their oath. And judges are to believe them more than you ... because they're _sworn_ officers of the law.
@@t.m9341 So, there was no cowardice? And cowards can't orchestrate set ups? I don't believe their "facts" or details. I expect them to lie and cover up their corruption like most authorities. This entire force should be fired, the videos are clear that these officers were afraid. This is not acceptable for Police. the first officer could have shot him down before he even entered the school, instead of calling in, he should have engaged and shot him. He had already shot before he went in , so he was an active shooter, You don't call that in you engage!!!!!!!! All of those lives could have been saved. Fire everyone of them. @@garthstewart6099 It's really a cultural thing. You are correct very poorly trained cops are getting military gear but they have a "code" and "getting home" is all that matters. That's why in the body cam videos you keep hearing the officers exhort each other to "be careful" and to take cover. This engagement was 400 on 1. That's pathetic. I've taking CQB and carbine courses and 3 well trained door kickers could have killed this 18 YO Call of Duty moron in 5 minutes.
The shooter was there to kill, not to negotiating!! The police officers should be in the room after they heard the first gun shoot, instead of over 100 gun shots!!
Let's talk about the officer who actually had the "shooter" in his gunsights before Ramos entered the school and began the "killing spree".. Who is he and why didn't he engage immediately? Why did he have to call a supervisor and ask for "permission"? 21 LIVES could have been saved?! This whole thing could have been prevented...

3:20 Those 400 police officers reminds of of what cops were originally formed for in usa (at the founding of usa cops were charge with catching black slaves and returning them to the Euro slaver owners). These cops are not organized to effectively solve and stop crimes, but instead control and subjugate black population in usa. So when an actual threat to public safety happen or is happening from a non-black person, they are hesitant to actually stop the attacker as quickly as possible because the attacker is not a black person, who they were form to subjugate and attack.
Later renditions of cops were pulled directly from the Pinkertons in the north to attack union workers and kill them. Cops have always been an occupying force not at all tied to the communities the occupy.

It wasn't cowardice. It was pure evil. They were told (most likely paid) to not engage and instead block others from doing so, which was unconstitutional.
Absolutely. 400 armed police allowed the slaughter to happen. Cowardice could be an explanation if there were only 2 cops. But 400 cowards? Very unlikely
This is the same poor decision making process they've used since the beginning of time, while murdering countless black men, women and children in the streets of this nation. These are cowards with a gun. Heartless. How can you be an officer of the law and sit by and watch all these innocent children be murdered in cold blood while you do absolutely nothing to stop it? Yet you will gun down a black man with no gun whatsoever, and hold yourself unaccountable saying you feared for your lives. SMH

I have to wonder if the problem with policing started with the 1981 ruling in Warren v. District of Columbia where our Supreme Court said the police don't have a duty to protect. Perhaps the problem started earlier, but this one ruling has had a ripple effect on our police institutions ... and it hasn't been for the better ... worse yet, I don't know how to fix it.
Yes and no. The problem seems far beyond a court ruling or two. Police have no problem violently attacking brown and black people - but protecting them??
@@AvangionQ It's even much larger than police. We live in a culture that teaches and/or conditions us to worship toxic masculinity - among other toxic beliefs/values. Maybe, we can start by demilitarizing the police, looking at what many other nations have been doing for decades both in policing and in their larger criminal justice systems? Maybe instead of "defunding" the police - maybe professionalizing them - which means we raise educational standards/requirements (not just more "training") and professional pay. Most police departments do not require any formal education beyond high school and some weeks of military-style police academy training.

Hard to face, but it's not necissarily the individual cops' fault. It's a much larger system that goes way beyond this one small town or even Texas. Most individual soldiers or veterans in the U.S. military are technically war criminals but I think its the commanders and leaders who need to be indicted and PUBLICLY convicted first and foremost.

This is such a strange effect. I wonder if this is an extension of the 10-80-10 principle which I've witnessed many times in life. It reasons that 10% of us are leaders (we have a plan, take action, and do the right thing) This group is called the Survivors. 80% are dazed, panicky, and disoriented. They are the Confused and struggle to make sense out of the situation. They seek direction and wait for someone to take the lead and tell them what to do. Finally there are the Doomed, 10% that behave in counter-productive ways. They do the wrong thing and even hasten their own injury. I'm sure that there are many watching this program who knew exactly what they would do in this situation even if they've never had any police training. I know that some parents and others stepped up but were stopped from proceeding into the school. If you are one of those first 10% (you know who you are because you've had to step up in multiple emergency situations with no training), learn a few more tactics, such as the art of distraction to get the other 90% out of the way. If anyone tries to stop you, continue going forward. I'm shocked by the amount of people in danger or situations that the persons-in-power have not acted immediately. I've watched police chiefs clearly exhibit Doomed behavior .. Maybe this is just innate and some can never be taught. 😔

Abbotts arrogance and disrespect for the people of that state is totally reasons for his dismissal!!!
He doesn’t give a F about us. When migrant children first came to San Antonio he came that day and did a press conference saying children were being sexually assaulted and demanding the federal government step in. The jerk hadnt stepped foot inside the facility or had any evidence to back up apparently one or two supposed claims made via phone. He went on the local news stations in San Antonio at 5 pm saying that BS. I was at my moms house when that happened. When my mom gasped at his statements about kids being sexually assured in the facility I was like… “ugh” bc I knew wtf he was doing from the start and was saddened that my mom wasn’t seeing his game instantly. He is one pathetic sob.

It's what happens when you promote based off politics or whoever kisses butt the most instead of the hardest workers. This is the case across the board and a huge problem. A perfect example why this country is in the shape it's in.
The question is Does the officers deserve prison time??? Or a minimum to be fired with no benefits????
Can the families go to the Ethics Committee and get their pensions denied. They need to be fired and meant to work at a fast food place 😡
Takes a village to raise a child. That is the lesson to learn. Humans need to engage in empathy and compassion to become truly a sentient being. ShakeUp XR
As an Army combat veteran, my fellow Americans have to see the profound danger of police cowardice when mixed with the US-military uniform.
We all see how cops love to LARP as soldiers with all the military style gear. You have to understand how that American military uniform had a reputation around the world for excellence, and when you let cowards wear it, like in Uvalde, that reputation of our military uniform is tarnished forever. Other militaries had learned to respect that uniform, from our soldiers showing an obvious willingness to close with and engage an enemy.
To the outside world, it looks like actual US military were in that hallway (foreigners do not understand that SWAT just like to dress up like that because they were too scared to join the REAL military). To the outside world, it looked like US military were in that hallway, afraid to engage.
When police are acting like cowards, they seriously need to stop LARPing as soldiers, and wear their own uniform.

JB used part of his SOTU address to back$tab Americans who want police reform. Instead, he vowed to increase their already-bottomless budget.
If you don't check the background of the policeman and you let them take off their hoods and put the policeman uniform that's why there's all this killing and abusing cause you don't check on their background you just give them the uniform and the badge and why don't you put the minority policeman in the minorities neighborhoods how come all of a sudden they're all snowflakes and no rainbow policings to take care of their own people if they have been rainbow police they would have gone in and saved those children's something's going on that's not right a lot of talking and no action more people dying is that what they called making America great again killing the the minority that'll make America great again may God have mercy on your souls
Why was law inforcement told to stand down?? Heartbreaking.
that has been repeated at several atrocities.
They were told to stand down in order to attain a higher body count. The plan is to take guns way from the citizens. To that end the globalists will sacrifice all our children.
They weren’t told to stand down, none of them wanted to go in there. They were freely standing in the hall, any of them could have run in there at any time. To hell with the job. Kids were screaming for help and being blown away. 😡
It is still not clear if they had been told by a higher up to stand down or if they just did not want to risk their lives for these chilren.
They were cowards. They all should be fired.

Greg Abbott the governor for a man who is wheelchair bound I am surprised that he doesn't have a sensitive side for the hurting.
400 cops and not one single person had the Balls to run in and help those kids...but a mother did!
@@zapatasghost Agreed. I need to think more about what to do about our police problems.

10 million dollars to fix a radio system? Typical government spendthrift mentality. $900 toilet seats, $200 hammers and etc. “Fixing” their radio system would cost a mere fraction of $10M. Get real.
Why aren't we all protesting nation wide together we will get them fired with no benefits I thinks that why they are protecting the supiriors. They should not only lose everything but also there freedom for not doing what they were supposed to do
Why can't Americans vote for GUN BANS?
Hard to face, but it's not necissarily the individual cops' fault. It's a much larger system that goes way beyond this one small town or even Texas. Most individual soldiers or veterans in the U.S. military are technically war criminals but I think its the commanders and leaders who need to be indicted and PUBLICLY convicted first and foremost.
The corruption in U.S. "law enforcement" is appalling. Every officer that was there should be held to accountable. None of them will be held accountable. That's just America doing what America does.
That’s how long it takes Texans to decide who’s going to lead the charge to save children.
No that how long it took for an off duty ice agent to fight thru the cops and stop the shooter because the cops were obviously paid.
@@Perroden Paid to do what? The ICE agent, while off-duty, was still being paid. I believe an earlier account whereby the training offered to the Uvalde officers regarding this type of incident was disregarded. Why? The Uvalde PD know.

It's simple as my comments always go unnoticed lol... If the police can respond almost asap for a simple domestic call or when a black or Hispanic man goes on a shooting rampage they will take care of the perceived threat rapidly. Yet it took 77 minutes for ive r 400 officers to arrive and yet still didn't fire off a single round at the shooter who was clearly a threat.

If it was innate, it would be duplicated in other similar places/systems in the world - don't you think?
