My great-grandmother has a mini piano that plays this, today i visited her, she told me that I should enjoy my life. She said goodbye, she knows she doesn’t have much time left. It’s always important to appreciate the present, we won’t live forever so we have to enjoy while we can. I hope that whoever is reading this the best in life and never give up on your dreams.
I came here because of the same, My grandparents had a musical box that played this song, which represents my childhood and my amazing time with them. My grandma is 95 years old but My grandpa passed away 2 years algo. I'll love them forever.
Fot those who are asking, my great-grandmother unfortunately died in September 2022. However, she was tired, she wanted to take her last breath. I´m glad that she is not suffering anymore. Also today i was told that i didn´t pass my collage exam but i remembered that my great-grandmother told me not to give on my dreams. I might not be the best at Math or Chemestry, might not have the talent but i still have time, i don´t want to give. Also, if you are reading this and you are going thorugh a similar situatuion, NEVER GIVE UP, you may see everything dark and far away but it is never late to do what you love.
This is one of the most beautiful and saddest song, I remembered watching the movie the very first time at the age of 10, 40 years ago, I cried and cried. To this day, when I listened to it, it still gives me this chill in my heart and soul. To Ryan O' Neal and Alia McGraw, you are both loved and will always remembered. Thankyou.
I just watched it again, last night, on Netflix. And yes, screen chemistry between the two were absolutely perfect. And the setting at Harvard with old buildings and all was equally impressive.
I was a music teacher...you are sooo right. and after hearing this many times I can no longer stand Andy Williams or others singing it. THIS is the way the theme was meant to be heard. Francis Lai was a great writer and player.

I feel identified with this film, I became widow for some years ago. I could not understand why it happened so soon after my marriage. Many years have past and I´m living a true love story now with the other half of my soul who reincarnated in a different country. That was the pact and agreement my soul had made before coming to the third dimension. It has been a long travel since I first met my husband in 1992. The Universe knows better the way we have to go and strive for.

It's been more than 50 years now and I have never once seen this movie or knew what it is about until today but I remember that theme so clearly. I was only 9 then and my mom bought the LP of this theme and played that record all the time. I used to look at that picture of the young man and woman on the record cover and wonder what this Love Story movie everyone talked about back then was all about.
I'm not mature enough to comment on this song, because in 1970 I was only 3 years old... the only thing I remember when I was a teenager I listened hundreds of times to pianist Richard Clayderman playing this song on a vinyl record. Really this tama seems to touch my heart in a more dramatic and romantic way, it's just wonderful! Thank you Francis Lai!
Please, I do not know where I heard this song before, but I recognized it immediately. As if it called out to me from some critical moment in my past that I have forgotten.
Hello! I also like this song so much.. I've made my arrangment of this song and I want to share it with you ua-cam.com/video/uUTwajrwVrc/v-deo.html&start_radio=1
Francis Lai's poignant piano melody 'Where Do I Begin?", mixed with windswept strings, from the tearjerker film phenomenon Love Story of course, a melody that perfectly evokes a tale of grand passion that is tragically cut short.
I do play the piano. So glad my dear mother who passed, worked 3 jobs to give me and my sis piano lessons. Playing the theme from "Love Story" still bring tears to my eyes to this day even 50 years later. I hope they make a new CD recording of the theme and soundtrack. It is the most emotional and unforgettable piece of music ever written, capturing the heart in just five opening notes.
Absolutely great movie, now this was a sad one and oh so relatable for us who ever had cancer. Though I didn't have the man that loved her as this man did. What a touching story of how coming together thru loss can make a difference in life. I am referencing the relationship between he and his father. The freedom these two shared was nice to see and a example to us all of how free a relationship should be. For me just meeting a person I would ever want to spend time with is historical. I think my lover is on another star and perhaps it is why I stay alone. I could have been with men to give me a life, I had offers, I just couldn't fake it. Not even for money......Not even for money.
It really is beautiful. Just a wonderful, magical piece of art that will stand proud in the history of music for many, years, and many more to come. The way the song just takes you down to its own story letting the soothing sound reach your heart and let the notes shine in you while you enjoy the melody, it's fabulous.
