The original version with 12v power supply is the one to have. When they changed the power to 9v and added the D.I. output, it changed the reactive dynamics and voicing. The original, with a swapped-out 12at7 instead of 12ax7, gives MUCH more warmth to my ears and a lot more flexibility of a range of tube breakup. The Vintage setting's compression + gain @ 3:00 with Volume @ 50% feeding a Jazz bass into an amp just NAILS the Moving Pictures bass tones. The 12ax7 with a Ric makes one sound like Lemmy through 15s & 12s. Or the 12at with gain under halfway is like a clarifying eq signal at the end of your chain. Without it, your pedalchain might sound okay, but as soon as the Valvedrive is engaged, it's like you took a heavy blanket off your cabs and they come to life. If you need a D.I. like the 9v version2 has, just buy a $30 d.i. box and run the Valvedrive through it.
Hello, I am interested in purchasing electronic tube front stage pedals and have set my sights on EBS ValveDrive DI and Olympic MkIIIS. I am not concerned with IR function, only the taste of the front stage amplifier. I would like to hear your advice
Hi your pedal has two line out around I only find pedals with an exit missing the Out Balance ...! are there therefore 2 versions of this pedal? can you give me the exact name of this model and version? thank you
After watching this video, I ordered a used one from talkbass. It arrived today. Did you ever notice it having an electrical burning smell? Sounds great just smells funny.
Really like the video but according to EBS official ValveDrive DI page: "Remember that the 'flat' setting on the Valve Drive is when Bass and Treble is turned all the way down, and Mid at center position." So I'm wondering which is correct?
From the manual: The special case when you want a flat frequency response from the passive filters is obtained when BASS and TREBLE controls are set to MINIMUM, and the MIDDLE control is set to MAXIMUM.
Personalmente, a mi me gusta mucho mi Noble DI.
Hey there, thanks for watching! I could, but: 1. I would have to re-learn/transcribe the song again + write down everything. 2. You can see and hear how i play everything during the song. 3. You’re gonna learn more if you learn the tune by ear, than by reading tabs. I don’t mean to be harsh, but it’s in your best interest for the long term to do it by yourself. The song is in the key of E though. Hope that helps
balb drajv// i love name how it sound inu bed//:):) AOUND IS NICE ,,I STILL THINK THAT THIS SHOULD BE USED JUST TO BOOST OUTPUT OF BASS FOR LIKE 10 /15 PERC TO GET BEST SOUND ,, WHAT BASS WERE YOU USING ACTIVE PASSIVE/SETTINGS ,,AND AS I HEAR MEDIUM HARD FINGER PLAY ,,SHAME NO SLAPP OR PICK //GOOD BEST PEDALS ARE AGUILAR, THIS ONE ,AND SANS AMP 21 ,,AND FISHMAN IS GREAT TOO ,, BUT 500 OR SOME EUROS/DOLLARS I LIKE SOUND WITH NO SMALL FARRRTING,, IT SHOULD BE CLEAN AS NEW SOCKS// OR HAVE OVERDRIVE LIKE ON ,,BEASTY B SABOTAGE ,, A LITTLE FARTING FEEL TO ME LIKE BATTERY IS GOING DEAD ON SOME WARWICK OR SO ,,HATE IT

Hey thanks for the heads up. I don't need the D.I. just the tone.
I'm at the point that when I need to learn bass stuff, I come here. Thanks, Ivan.
Thanks for the kind words! Happy to help :)!
Sounds really good! 🎶🎸
Glad you liked it, Tomas! Thanks for watching!
Beautiful demo, thanks 👌🏿
Greetings from Uganda 🇺🇬👊🏿🖤
Thanks for watching! Greetings from Germany!
Awesome demo! Thanks! I appreciate you playing a real demo with rock solid bass lines. Liked and subscribed!
Thanks for the kind words, Ryan!
Sounds awesome!
Thank you for showing different level of gain!!!
So many reviews just go from 0 to full and that annoys me so much.
Great great demo
Thanks for watching!

Yes there is an older version and a newer version that has a DI added.
Came for the pedal, stayed for the bass. Nice licks/lines.
Thanks! Glad you liked it!
Ivan is good! :)

Never noticed that 😅

@@IvanBassist now that's weird! :)
Different versions maybe?
Does the vintage/normal option accomodate passive and active accordingly?
It is just a change of voicing, not meant to act as an active/passive switch
So organic
Mikazuki Augus Those tubes 💪🏽

Podrias probar esa combinacion.

@enzodorochessi7818 si :)
Is it an existing bass line that you’re playing? It sounds so familiar🧐 Great demo btw!
Nope. I came up with it
What drum vsti is that?
I think i used EZ drums2
nice video
Thanks!
Yvan, any chance you write down the tabs of the song you play in this demo?

What’s with the slanted frets
What about it?

The Aguilar is also a great preamp :)

After awhile, everything sounds the same
