My sweet friend, you make it look so easy. God bless you and your family too. You have encouraged me to keep on keeping on top. I've always cooked and baked. I'm not going to quit. I'll keep you posted on how things are going.
I can see me using the microwaved marshmallows and water for...fresh fluff, peanut butter, and banana sandwiches rather than the jar stuff. I don't eat fluff often, so it gets separated and yucky in the jar. I will be making the fondant too. If you can do it, Matt, I can too! 😉 Thanks for your great and easy recipes!
Leave it to you, Matt, to make yet another intimidating recipe look so easy to make! How about the use of a stand mixer? Do you think it would be too stiff for the machines's motor? Fondant looks so nice on a cake. Thanks again ! 👍🏻
Thank you! Yeah I think it will be too stiff for a stand mixer with a dough hook. In the beginning it might be okay, like for the first 5 or 6 cups of powdered sugar, but then you will probably want to do the rest by hand. Although I haven't tried it in a stand mixer, because yes I still don't own or use a stand mixer, lol :)
@@inthekitchenwithmatt You don't own one? Is there a reason or do you just find you don't need one and prefer the old fashioned method of mixing and kneading?
@@tahoe7779 Nope I don't own one lol. Maybe someday I will get a KitchenAid but I am still content doing things the old fashioned way, and using my hand mixer when I have to. But as far has kneading dough goes, old fashioned it is, plus it is therapeutic for me. :) And a bit of a workout. haha
@@inthekitchenwithmatt My Gramma wouldn't hear of having a stand mixer, never mind a dough hook! 😁 She was a little frail gal but worked that dough like a pro! Made the best cinnamon rolls and danish! She made all her own egg noodles too for soups, so nice and thick and all different widths, cut with a kitchen knife on her wooden pastry board my Dad made for her. I used to love her pierogis, all made by hand. I do use my KitchenAid with its dough hook. It's faster so I can make more in a shorter amount of time. lol
That is such a nice story about your Gramma! :) Hehe yeah I don't have anything against KitchenAids in fact that would be my choice if I got one, and if KitchenAid contacted me and wanted me to do a product review I would happily take one off of their hands...lol :)
Hi I tried ur fondant but it is condensating In your recipe you mentioned 400 gm mashmellow is it 400 gm or as stated in your video. Also in your recipe notes u mention 6 cups and in ingredients 8 cups which one is the correct amount
1 pound bag of marshmallows is 453 grams as mentioned in the video. The written recipe has an error for the grams for the marshmallows. You need to use as much as needed you start with 6 cups then you add more as you knead, like I showed and mentioned in the video and the written recipe. It isn't an exact amount. You keep kneading in the confectioner's sugar until it resembles fondant.
Store it at room temperature covered in plastic wrap and also in an airtight container like Tupperware or something. It can last at least a couple of months.
You are very welcome! :) Already have a few, here is one ua-cam.com/video/aBJj0j4RFwY/v-deo.html and this one. :) inthekitchenwithmatt.com/homemade-moist-chocolate-cake-recipe one is a cream cheese frosting and the other is a buttercream frosting.
The cake sweating has nothing to do with the marshmallow fondant. So no, it isn't because of the 400g of marshmallow. You probably put your cake in the fridge right? Use plastic wrap over your cake, that will help prevent condensations/sweating. Do not store the cake in the fridge, also it is probably really humid where you live, that will also effect it.
Hello Jenny, just a little bit of vegetable oil will be fine. It just helps to keep it from sticking to your hands, and the countertop. haha. :) and of course it helps it from drying out.
You can use like a tsp. of various extracts to flavor it, and you would put that in during the microwaving phase, or just right after before adding the powdered sugar.
With out you I’ll never know how to make this, thank you very much. God bless you and your work .
You are so very welcome! :) And thank you! :)

Thank you so much! Let me know how it turns out and what project you use it with. :)
That's amazing recipe..
You are very welcome! :) Glad you liked it. :)
Do you first measure the sugar then sift it or sift then measure?
For this it doesn't matter too much, but I measured first then sifted it. :)

Can we use icing sugar instead of powdered sugar
Yup! Icing sugar is the same thing as powdered sugar. :)
Do you have a video showing you using this fondant?
No I don't but I have several other videos where I use fondant. It works exactly the same as those.
This is amazing 🌺
Thank you Farrah! :)
A fun watch. I can't say I'll ever do it myself... good seeing you, Nakedface.
hahaha thank you David! :) I always appreciate your comments. :)
how long can i keep it stored in the fridge?

Hi matt.how about if u dony have shortening?? Any alternative?

I'll be using coconut oil. 😊
