He mentioned his video Sundance Rejects The Gentleman Pirate. It's probably his most underrated video because I don't think many people know about it. I think it's also on the second channel and from way back. It's a good story though.
I highly recommend his story mode videos, Etsu. His "Forspoke Expleened" video is one of his best works. His story mode stuff is usually about one game or clearly labeled part 1 and 2. The fancy series is the first one that is connected. The others that have a follow Q and A usually share a title that is like this one.
Maitre 'd is French for Master of the House. They're in charge of dealing with the waiters of a restaurant, from Wikipedia "The responsibilities of a maître d'hôtel generally include supervising the waiting staff, welcoming guests and assigning tables to them, taking reservations, and ensuring that guests are satisfied. In large organizations, such as certain hotels, or cruise ships with multiple restaurants, the maître d'hôtel is often responsible for the overall dining experience, including room service and buffet services, while head waiters or supervisors are responsible for the specific restaurant or dining room they work in. "
So basically Head of Hospitality, the civilian operations aboard a ship like this. He had no business being on the bridge, however, especially in a crisis situation. Same with Cimortan, as she was just a guest aboard the ship. Not even a passenger, really, since she didn't have a ticket to be aboard.
Honestly, seeing the behind the scenes segment about how IH makes his videos was super interesting. I'm someone who wants to get better at video editing, and whilst I wouldn't make videos like his (the pain), seeing the elements and techniques on how he puts his videos together and how they work is very insightful ❤
The rules for the bridge of a Ship, any ship is that there is not supposed to be 'any' unnecessary personnel on the bridge. That includes guests, family, and even excess crew. The bridge has responsibility to the whole ship, they cannot be allowed to get distracted, and too many people can be a distraction. However, the Captain is the Captain. He can break the rules. Who's going to stop him? No one. He won't win any popularity contests with the crew, but he can bend or break the rules at his whim, however he is responsible for 'everything' that happens on or to that ship he commands.
To explain the whole drug thing, what was being illustrated was them heating drugs using a spoon to hold them and a lighter beneath the spoon to heat the drugs in order to melt them so they could take a syringe and suck up the drugs and inject it directly into their blood stream. It's a relatively common way to abuse things like narcotics and the like. It's because of people like that that it's become so tedious to get my prescription every month for my medication to manage my chronic arthritis. The bad few ruin it for the good many.
Especially one of the most notorious drugs Heroin. If you wanna know just how badly can it mess up a person and their life, I recommend a book “Zoo Station: The story of Christine F. (a.k.a. “Children of Zoo Station”.)
While the Captain is entirely responsible for his actions after the crash, like he said he wasn't the only one responsible. None of the people in that bridge who were supposed to keep him informed did their jobs and essentially allowed the ship to get near chore blindly. And the trial that came after was apparently rigged and was entirely set up by design to be entirely against Schettino's favor. Essentially a bunch of people either lied or exaggerated their claims to make sure he and he alone would be blamed for the tragedy even though he's not the only one responsible for what happened.
I'd recommend his other Incognito Mode videos, specifically the "In the Field" series (all of them titled in this weird format of "[lower-case word here]."), however they are all oftentimes... pretty 'spicy'. Many cases of controversial opinions, very edgy jokes and generally a sort of "improvised content" feel *very* loosely led along by a given subject of an episode and put together into a nice (?) package with a ribbon thanks to some great editors.
56:35 Back then yeah he did it himself but you noticed that Internet Historian always said “We” on explaining stuff instead “I” or “Me” so He's not alone working on his video. He has dedicated Team of Editing, Researching Material and of course Correction some stuff to make one video plausible for any legal reason on UA-cam and Law
Although I do agree there are some responsibilities the other officers share I think the biggest issue is that schettino is in charge of the workplace culture. He allowed his subordinates to become complacent and I agree having family members come into the bridge to see how a ship is run should be allowed. But bringing in your mistress I believe says a lot about how serious he took his duties.
if you want something dramatic like a movie you should try Man in Cave from his main channel or if you want something silly you should try That Zone Between Area 50 and 52 or TheVarus series The Gentleman Pirate is also good if you interesting in pirate and stuff
maître d'(hotel) MAY-TREH DEE(D'OH-TELL) Manager of a hotel, or in a restaurant the manager of all the wait staff. On a cruise liner, the captain manages the ship and her crew, while the maître d' manages all the non-crew staff and passenger-related aspects of a cruise ship. They are almost equal in authority, with the captain having slightly more authority in respect to the ship and its operation.
Makes me remember that perhaps among 7 billion lives on Earth. 3.5 Billion of them doesn't know the existence of Metal Gear. But they are probably exposed to that exclamation point sound effect ❗ which is everywhere at this point so lot's people doesn't know the original context of that sound effect, they are probably think it's Meme thingy.
Namu doesn't get angry. She gets angy.
Somehow namu ranting about the captain is still kinda wholesome
namus special power
Nice, thanks for reacting to this as well. Most people skip it but it's got alot of info that is interesting imo.
"is that from an old game?" - i think part of my soul just left my body
I felt that but I also feel perhaps ½ people are not keen interested or even knowing the existence of that franchise

Namu is so innocent she doesn't even know what a plea deal is 😆

Easy for earbuds to fall out when ears so flappy ❤

52:29 That is probably the video I would most recommend. It's a proper movie experience, and all the extra bloopers are at the end of the same video.

There they are... The deets!
Wake up everyone! New Namu video just dropped!

You are the first one I've seen react to the Q&A, nice.
More Namu Concordia coverage, we're up so bigly

I read the title and I thought it was drama about the recent game xD (the game is actually called Concord)
The Captain isn't the one selecting the crew (AFAIK) that's more on the Company itself so they should be the one blamed for hiring Jacob.
Yay! Perfect bedtime vid
