One of the food banks here in Flagstaff helps with pet food as well as people food. I’ve never utilized the pet food bank because I’m picky with the food my cats eat. But my neighbor has had to go to the pet food bank for his dog. When he gets cat food he will give it to other neighbors. We all help each other out here at my complex. If someone goes to the food bank and there’s stuff they won’t/can’t eat they will give to another neighbor and so on. I’ve used the food bank once and split the haul with my friend and a coworker of mine. I have so much rice, beans and peas. One of these days I plan to use some of the split peas and make a soup!
My idea is taking root! Daily salvage, what the store would toss out, that can still be consumed. Basically, your local store won't be able to transport it to the food bank and they just throw it out. That's a HUGE waste. Useable food ends up in landfills, not the stomachs in our communities. People need to be available to transport it to the food bank and allow the people who can use it to eat. It's not a radical concept. The food bank just needs refrigeration to make it work and a LOT more people would be eating a lot more healthy foods. Who's with me?

You should tell them at the food bank that you have a cat and sometimes they have cat food for your pet. and what can help you get through the month is to buy margarine and cheap meat on sale once you get everything else at the food bank and...toilet paper which everybody forgets most of the time...you can make meat balls with the beef...get yourself a pack of wieners and you can cook that with potatoes and a cheap can or bottle of tomato sauce.You'd be surprised how far you can go with very little when you know how to fix them.You should look up Clara with her depression meals maybe she has new ideas on You Tube.

Eric, your orchid need's only a little bit of water, they like being pot bound and it will also send out feeding root's from the pot, and with the right care can live for a long time. Enjoy the plant and when it flowers the room will smell lovely.
Save the water off your boiled eggs. Let it cool and pour into a milk jug. Water your flower with it every 3 days. Or just crush the shells put into jug fill with water. Make scalloped potatoes with 1/2 cup cottage cheese& cheddar cheese sliced potatoes, 1 cup and 2-3 tables flour mixed together pour over potatoes and add 4 tables butter salt& pepper to tastes. Bake at 450 for 45-60 minutes.

My food bank has recipes available. The volunteers and patrons also can give you suggestions. So can the internet. I had a ton of powered milk cuz no one really likes. However, I googled what to do with powered milk. I found that you can make cheese with it! How cool is that? Besides, my teenagers like to make it so I don't have to buy it when they want some. I got a lot of oranges and apples so we made marmalade and apple sauce.

We both worked at one point an still struggling. I found out about pantries an I started going. There is a lot of help out there, just have to ask. IF I CAN HAVE STAGE FOUR CANCER AND WORK TWO JOBS YOU CAN TOO. YOU look like an abled body person who can take care of yourself. That food is for disabled, elderly and are veterans. You cant eat that much food and im sure that is not the only place you get free food from. GET TWO JOBS

Can I ask why you don’t work?
I have a job but I am trying to get a better one. I have medical stuff but my disabilities got denied. It is hard I try to keep making progress. Thank you for your support.
