Would of luvd to been a 🪰on the wall when Mick and Jim got together 👍🏻
You’re welcome Ronaldo, ya imagine how cool it’d be to have been there
Nothing really to compare here: Jim, always the genius and serious poet at heart. Mick, a pure showman.
Mick an incredible lyricist and performer. Jim really a bipolar drunk with silly teenage goth lyrics
@@steveconn You obviously don’t get the music man, and definitely not Jim. Pick up a biography. This guy was reading philosophy and writing poetry when he was still a teenager!
Youre both twonks. the comparison is rediculous. Two fantastic artists and creative minds.@@Vimana11
Bull. Jim was a drunkard drug addict who died just like Brian Jones.
It’s preference
I hate the stones
So, the Hollywood Bowl concert might not have been to Jagger’s appeal, but I certainly wouldn’t have called it boring. It just wasn’t the inspiration Mick was looking for at the time. But I think it’s really cool that those 2 legends hooked up and chatted in that hotel room. Too bad only one of them would go on to live a whole life, while the other did not. Well, that’s the world of rock and roll for ya.
With or without Jim Morrison’ help, Mick figured how to work a big crowd.
I'm not surprised because I was aware that Jager was at the Doors Hollywood Bowl concert and I heard that they met there before the concert also. I think the Doors Hollywood bowl concert was one of the best live concerts on film ever made.
Wow. Good job.
Apparently, the junkie, Pamela Courson was sitting on Mick Jaggers lap during the infamous Hollywood Bowl concert. Jagger had said that the concert was “Boring” Absolute jealousy.
The Two Greatest Front Men in Rock and Roll History, into the future. Forever.
So right. So Real. 👋
I’ve seen them both, up very close, mick every tour since ‘66. And Daltrey, Stewart, Plant, etc., etc… Mick far and away the best frontman in music history, surpassing, in my view, even early Elvis … or Sinatra, for that matter.
@@jessewolf7649. Lucky you. Seems you certainly got about a bit ! 😉
Morrison didn't live long enough to be the greatest frontman in rock. I would put Jagger, Plant, Roger Daltrey, David Lee Roth, Bob Segar, Alice Cooper, Ian Gullian, Dio, Joe Lynn Turner, Burton Cummings, Sammy Hagar, Ozzy, Dickinson, and I could 25 more all were and are better than Morrison simply because of longevity, hits, and accomplishments.
@@jessewolf7649 Roger Daltrey is a real badass! Powerful voice, acts like a man on stage.
Jagger and Morrison were very different personalities, and while Jagger was older and longer established than Morrison, he was also clearly more ambitious and had no problem with learning from a newer and less experienced performer. I doubt Morrison would have had the slightest interest in trying to learn anything from Jagger, except of course about Brian Jones!
Both of them were born in 1943/ close in age!😊
Jim died exactly 2 years to the day that Brian died too, Jim wrote a poem about him. Both 27, of course. And I think another few years later, on the same date, Pam popped off too. It's the Js, man. Johnson, Jones, Jimi, Jim, Joplin...and Jiztits.
Jim definitely better at ruining concerts and screwing up his bandmates lives, no doubt!
@@cannotfindmyshoes3and Jesus?
I am always stunned by the troubled, sad, and angry look in Jim's eyes.
He was just hungover, man. Sometimes it’s not that complicated-
@@adolescentwombat 20? I was listening to the Doors on the radio in 1969. And although I love their music, Jim was always a hot mess.
@@juliacarlstad4437 yeah we get. He ain't all that. He's there for a reason. For each young man to go through their Jim Morrison phase. Lol.
And no not 20. I was alive in 69 too.
You poor sod.
I read a book about The Doors and mostly about Jim. In the book it states that when Mick was staying in Cali, Jim would walk up and knock on the window for cocaine.
Strictly speaking Jagger's primary purpose for going to LA in July 1968 was to oversee the mixing of their upcoming album Beggar's Banquet.
Great documentary, I've heard how this meeting was a disaster for Jim Morrison. However Jim was a legendary disaster who was also brilliant, the bright burn fast as they say.
Add alcohol = instant *ss hole.
My dad's cousin Vince Treanor was the Doors road-sound manager. He gave my dad 2 super 8 film cameras that were supposedly used by them. One got stolen in the old airport in St. Thomas USVI, and the other ended up overboard when one of my father's friends got between a cow and her calf (whales) in a dingy and flipped, before 1980.
Right...
So was mine, man !
Pictures together?
Just remember- it wasn’t the band that killed Morrison, it was Pamela Courson
Yoko did it.
@@scottashe984 Unfortunately UA-cam won't let me say what I need to say to you.
The booze and drugs had nothing to do with it right?
But the band and the manager Bill Siddons messed up, they should've ALL been on the first plane to Paris and demanded to know what happened and to see Jims body.
Morrison killed Morrison. 100% self destructed.
Too much charisma there. Wow.
Lol. Cmon!!! Mick never would have grovelled for advice like that. His manager never would have allowed him to do such a thing.
The Stones were playing arenas by late ‘65 when the Doors had hardly got going. This is one fable for the very gullible.
In general, the 60s scene was very open to everyone checking out each other's acts, and Mick wanted to check out The Doors while he was in LA. The Stones hadn't toured America in a couple of years, mostly due to their drug busts in '67, and in '68 major tours were starting to hit larger stadiums. Perhaps it was a pretext to meet Morrison, but that is how he allegedly approached the meeting. They met at The Doors La Cienega office and went to lunch, then Mick attended their Hollywood Bowl concert that night. The story goes that Jim decided to drop acid before going on stage and then had to perform with Mick and Jim's gf Pamela sitting with him (and on his lap according to some reports). Mick, asked afterward how he liked the show, replied "It was a bit long," which suggested he was bored by this particular brand of performance art (and maybe also aware of Jim's apparent self-conscious awkwardness at times).
Jagger manages the Stones.
@@BarryMiller2956 nailed it
These titles are never right. Mick might have wanted to see what’s up with the California scene, drugs, chicks and probably to commiserate. I’m a big fan of both bands, Jim had the looks and the studio albums, but Mick probably learned what not to do on stage from Jim or was trying to figure out how to get rid of Brian Jones (I didn’t look up the timeline here).
I m the Best fan The Doors
Mick said that he never met Jim.
It was probably Jim's best performance. If you were bored silly, you were either brain-dead or not paying attention. Jim had no need to prance around because...well, he could freaking sing and his voice could carry the concert with the help of his bandmates.
I find it hard to believe that Mick would seek advice from anyone about stage moves when he based his stage moves on James Brown's stage moves.
Mick admired and knew James Brown and spok
e with him about his stage presence more than once.
Didn't know this, didn't know this at all. Strange thought, who was the bigger man, if you know what I mean.
So Jim is paying for everything Pam does and she brings another dude, its obviously disgusting but Jim was also seeing other women but when you're young a girl can become more of an addiction or an obsession then actual love, but i do think Jim truly loved Pam
That Prince guy. He was of Royal lineage, but I don't think the country existed anymore, and he was a "hanger on" paying Pam's way, so that Prince guy was living off of Jim, too.
Oh, you think that? That’s very important and reassured everyone.
Maybe Jim checked out because he was sick of buying the bitch her fix.
Does it matter if Jim loved Pam? Good grief!
@@bartmix8994 Yes. You are in a dream state. You don't understand.
At that time, The Beatles and The Stones were the greatest bands. They would not ask anybody for advice. The Doors were playing clubs, theaters. The Doors were not playing arenas. The Doors are more popular today than back then. Not sure if any of this is true but who cares anyway.
A
Well, loads of world famous artists were playing small venues in the 60s- stadium shows were not the norm back then. AND The Doors were HUGE in their time and any time 😂
The Forum in Inglewood and the Long Beach Arena are both arenas holding 19,000 and 17,000 respectively and the Hollywood Bowl sits 17,500, the Doors played at all three venues
@@dqqb3762 maybe The Doors played those three arenas only, but were they a sell out? Also I bet that the Doors never played an arena outside of the huge populated area of California. Doors playing arenas was NOT the norm back then. I read somewhere that The Doors never played an arena, so I would question it.
@@trajan6927
My sister was at the Hollywood Bowl show, she said it was a sellout
My friends wife was at the Long Beach Arena show, she said it was a sellout
I’m sure the Forum show was a sellout, the Doors were very popular in LA back then
My friends and I made a mistake that night by going to see Ten Years After and the Long Beach Arena, thinking the Doors are a LA band and we’d have plenty of opportunities to see them in the future, I’m still kicking myself in the butt over that one.
You might be right about the Doors only playing arenas in the LA area, idk
😍🥰
Live band, The Mighty Who for the win.
I heard they shared a banana smoothie and ate twinky barz whilst discussing stage performance
i had heard that pam cheated on jim for a time with actor christopher jones. jones also claimed to have been involved with a very pregnant sharon tate while roman was in europe and just before her murder. jones has stated that when jim morrison died he was finished with acting, h-wood, the life style, etc. jones was born in jackson tennessee. his mother was unable to care for he and his brother. she put her sons into state's custody. the boys spent much of their early life in a group home for boys in memphis, tennessee. there a counselor told jones that he/jones looked just like james dean and took jones to a theater while a dean movie was playing at a revivial house. this is when jones became interested in acting. he had his own short lived western tv series playing jesse james in the mid-60's. he did 3 low budget films and 3 'regular' h-wood films. he was no james dean, he was however talented and he did have something. jones travelled the world for many years. he also had a career as an artist and sculptor. he came out of acting retirement in the 90's when a fellow actor he had worked decades prior with was directing a film and offered him a role. the film was mad dog time which also goes by other names. it was badly, badly received. jones said he wished he had never made it. jones was offered the role of zed in pulp fiction, but refuesd it. for a while jones was married to actress Susan Strasberg . just prior to his death olivia hussey stated that jones had r@pEd her in the 1960's.
Wow great comment 👍

Mick Jagger, the Most Punchable Face in Rock and Roll
It's annoying no journalist has bothered to ask Mick Jagger about the meeting. They get paid to avoid the interesting questions.
Well at least the TV Stay in the room and not crashing to ground Floor
The bowl performance was the only that before they band hired themselves people to record like a movie. Now is a dvd performance. Jim didnt loose himself in the show because he wanted a perfect recording, without the risk of a riot or another prison in the stage. Probably reason. In lsd he already loose in the stage before ..
I think Jim is more handsome 🔥
Why hasnt any journalist asked Mick Jagger about the meeting?.
The dating Nico never happened. It was a 3day fling while Morrison was in NY.
Well, that's the same thing. No-one ever said they embarked upon a long, serious relationship.
Dude! You rock gonna book that motel 😂❤
Haha thanks Diego, do it!
Any Jim Morrison fan has known this forever. I went there.
@@CreatingExcellence Ive known about the hotel but had not seen it.
The hotel is the Alta cieniga on the corner of Santa Monica and La cieniga blvds in West Hollywood. Room 32. Rumor has it it is currently closed and could be demolished.
Don’t forget that Barney’s beanery is nearby and was one of Jim’s hang outs.

Love The Doors! Yet that room is a shit hole who is spending money to sleep there??
"Hey Jim, what's with this poverty hole?" No, no, no. O.K. Ji...you have to compete with Christopher Jones. Good Luck! And you had to outdo Steppenwolf and the Chamber Bros. Time Has Come Today. So, he crooned. Makes sense. I doubt if that Hollywood Bowl show was one of his finest. Aahh....he's with Pamela.
All the cameras around but not one shot of Mick at the Hollywood Bowl. Either didn’t happen or it was a Mick impersonator. Maybe they caught on to him at the motel before going to the show then went with story.

Why would Mick Jagger ask Jim Morrison for advice? Sounds made up.
Plus there’s a 7 years big huge difference there. More like James brown to dance.
Mick just vastly more professional. Why he lived and Jim burnt out.
And Jim was way more true and a better artist
Jim was widely hated in the La scene. I have no idea if the hate was justified.
It's because he called out posers off stage.
Especially David Cosby with his stupid little cape and hat.
Jim cut him
Cosby never forgave him.
And continued to shit talk about Morrison after he died.
Jim was the real deal.
I'm a huge Stones fan. But the one thing I dislike about Mick was his penchant to turn up at all the hot new acts back stage and generally fuck with people's women.
The women didn't help.
What would have you done?
Mick didn't need to do that.
But they were different times and you weren't cool if you got jealous.
Don't mean it didn't hurt.
Mick farked Anita Pallenburg while making Performance.
That's what the issue is between Mick and Keef.

Something happened in that hotel room, nine months later there was a baby. That baby was Iggy Pop
Ha. Haha...ha. Amazing that Iggy is still alive and well actually, considering the kinda life style he had already got into at that time. Heroes.
Jagger supposedly slept with Morrison's 'girlfriend' in LA, and she sat next to Jagger in the front row at the Hollywood Bowl Doors performance. Morrison was a better singer than Jagger, but Jagger might have been a better songwriter (he wrote music too-not just lyrics).

Boring
Yeah with 122 very recognizable amazing singles of which they wrote most of and 10 classic albums between 68 and 81 (68-74 perfecting a country-infused bluesy rock and roll sound that is beyond gorgeous) with 1964 to 1967 the 2nd most popular act too with at least20 hit singles, yeah I'm sure you're right.
