No one does a better jagger impression than jagger.. like a caricature of himself.. & it's great, love it
Except David Bowie lol
it still blows my mind that from the 60s to 80s the more feminine you were as a guy the more women you got
still applies i reckon. women love feminine guys
@@nonieleslie26 May i ask why? whats the allure?
Artistic beauty and charisma. Unafraid. Affectionate. The fact that men can look more beautiful than a woman is attractive. Tender. Non aggressive. In tune. No hang ups about their masculinity.
Didn't stop at the 80's. It's about having aquiline features. Less burly, more sophisticated. Thin and fashionable beats muscular in a tank top.
it’s coming back again and i love it
The 'odience. Love it.
“I shall say this only once.”
Just recently I realized that Rolling Stones is like another way to say rock n roll
Rock - stones
Roll - rolling
Man, what happened to proper rock stars? They all look so cool. The fact that they are still alive and playing in 2020 is insane. Maybe in the next life I can be young and a member of the Rolling Stones. The tales these guys must have to tell.
My dream as well. The only band I ever felt an urge to be a part of
Life is what you make it
@@djyua9157 Lol. I'm not complaining about my life. I'm a lawyer and have done fairly well. I'm just not a legendary rock star. Thanks for the advice and life lesson though. So many life coaches with pearls of wisdom to dispense here on UA-cam... 😆
@@STONESGAM hey man a lawyer lives good bro maybe not as exciting as a rockstar but definitely a good life!!
Check out Royal Blood, they’re brilliant.
Taylor was always so underrated and underappreciated. When Mick, Keith, and Taylor were together, the Stones were the best band ever.
Shame he wasn't there for too long
@@crowkid5553just for the albums that matter.
Mick was so charismatic. Even if he wasn't famous and met you him you would be transfixed.
'and met you him you'

INNOCENT LOOKING BUT A BAD BOY TOO..AT THE SAME TIME
He has quite a bit of make-up on.
Wow! I was just born when this interview took place and in a few weeks I'm going to their concert! Still rocking! Legends!
Eu nasci em 77,
Yes but they perform today, back then they invented it & lived it
Love the Spinal Tap moment when Keith says the audiences have gotten "older" and Jagger says or "younger, ...we don't always agree...." long, long, long pause. Absolutely hilarious!
keith was right, you look at their early performances and it was full of screaming teens, even jagger admits this in the same interview! the early stones were billed as another beatles, and their first two records were almost all copy songs, they had like 3 originals.
Exactly! And when Mick gets defensive when the reporter brings up "younger groups", asking whether he likes them or not, and Mick declares it a "Non-question." How the hell is that a "non-question?"
@@Mandrake591 the question was worded weird. It doesn't matter who other bands or genres attract. He said he's not a fan of their music. The reporter tried to keep a conversation going instead of asking a better question.
Mick was/is always worried about staying relevant to the young trend and crowd. Keith is right here…Mick is just wishful thinking.
@@Mandrake591 That wasn't how the "question" was phrased though. Mick was right. Imagine how many lame questions they've had to answer over the years?
so cool...their 'glam' period.... heavy on the slap, high on decadence and looking very beautiful.
Mick was so young and beautiful here and Keith is so cool and badass.
Mick Taylor's progression from shy, quiet sideman of John Mayall to shy, quiet, skag-addicted sideman of the Rolling Stones was something of a shocker when he left the group in '75 before the recording of Black and Blue was set to begin. His ascent from solid blues guitarist to indisputable virtuoso during this period helped to cover it up. He's always been one of my favorite players.
Was too rolling stoned and in all honesty couldn't stretch out musically.

Mick & Keith were the coolest rockstars on the planet around this time. Bit sad though to see how Mick Taylor was being totally ignored.
He just didn't have the charisma, awesome as he was. Also, Mick and Keith are practically one unit. No one could infiltrate that.
'73 was great year for many bands.
¿Mick Taylor ignored? He was the most important in the band in these years!
@@puplover7991 Oh, believe me, Taylor has charisma. He's just doesn't have the gift of gab, he speaks through his guitar.
@@mprieto505 No, he wasnt.
I think Mick quit alcohol and tobacco around early 80's, aged 40/41. Just on time to be alive and healthy today. Smart guy.
I think Mick Jagger quit smoking in about 1970. Plenty of pics of him smoking in the sixties but after that nothing. Richards looks like he might be doing some coke and a little Vitamin A maybe.
@@MegaMkmiller During their performance on SNL, Mick took a cigarette from Ronnie's mouth and started smoking it. That doesn't mean he didn't quit beforehand, but just something to note.
@@MegaMkmiller This is the peak of Keef's heroin use.
@@suchabadkitty1293 I'm no expert but I kind of doubt if junkies have a peak. Seems to me it just gets worse. JFHC on the 76 tour of Europe he REALLY looked like death warmed over. At any rate, pretty sure it wasn't just H. He seems like he might be doing a little bit of Cid in this interview. Not much but some. And a snort of C. Or H. Or both. Whatever works. And God knows how long he's been up.
Nope, never heard that. I saw him drinking beer in St Louis just a few weeks ago.
Such precious footage and in color!
Keith was in his early 30's and he looked 45. Can't believe he's still alive today!
Damn, I just looked him up and he wasn't even 30 yet.

These guys are incredible- never a dull moment and they kept on pumping their brilliance year after year. It's a rare thing!
He sounds like a lower voiced David Bowie
Mick looked pretty good back then.
PsycheodeliaDelle Which Mick?
Both! But especially Taylor
Jagger was bisexual In 1974 and slept with David Bowie... he looks feminine, you can tell.
@@cotto-kx4qb He looks feminine because he is wearing women's makeup. Why? Well, for starters his mother was an Avon lady, and he got into putting it on because there was an abundance in the house so he figured that he would try it on and thought it made him look good. After already becoming famous, Jagger ultimately decided to wear makeup and wild outfits to spice up his performance. Little Richard was a significant inspiration for Mick, and that also influenced his decision to wear the makeup & colorful Liberace-like costumes on stage to spice up his stage presence Mick was wearing makeup before Bowie or any other rock star. Mick stopped wearing makeup when he was in his late 40's as he felt it only looked good on young people. So now Jagger's stage persona is back to the way it started, wearing comparably conservative outfits sans makeup. I guess overall his entertainment decisions were pretty savvy as he became the world's biggest rock star before the Beatles broke up & remained so for about 40 years. The Rolling Stones are still the world's most famous rock band & they're all in their 70s. All one can say is...WOW!!!
Nelson Robert Willis David Bowie was openly bisexual long before meeting Angie. He said he was straight for a period of time in the 80s and 90s because he said he felt that no one was even listening to the records anymore, only talking about his personal life. So he went back into the closet. He came out again and explained why in the early 2000's. Also, Angie didn't even know that David Bowie and Mick Jagger were going out until after several months.
lol Mick Taylor is annoyed for the entire interview.
I refer to Miss Taylor here as, "The Pouty Prince."
@@johannesbols57 Mick Taylor is all Coked-up.
He's definitely high on opiates, plucking his nose like that, ..scratching. If you're on heroin, the first period your nose is constantly itchy, you can ask any user. And his pupils are sooo small.. Not too long after this he went. I read in an article that he was afraid for his new family, he and his wife just had a little daughter. And he just didn't wanna go Keith's path, things where getting too heavy for him. Heroin is a hard thing to handle, it's not for everybody. I've seen people going downhill in two years, and I've seen people who handle it for decades and decades, and still doing fine... :) Rolling Stones Voor Altijd! Vrede.

Mick Taylor - so hushed beside Jagger, yet the best guitarist Stones ever had.
Mick T was all business, he seemed like the consummate professional..must have been damn hard to be a sideman in the circus.
But Mick Talylor wasn't so clever to respond to questions as Mick and Keith were. Of course the leaders of the band were always Mick and Keith (in the first couple of years maybe Brian). I think Bill and Charlie were so cool because they didn't even try to be anything! They were so modest in a very cool way. And Mick Taylor was younger than the others. Mick and Keith were rock veterans by 1973. Think about that!
ronnie wood is also was also pretty damn good!
Sticky Fingers, Let It Bleed, Exile on Main Street, all feature the genius of Mick Taylor.
@@brianflynn5814 he was amazing...i think in the top five all time long rock n roll riffs has gotta be Cant you hear me knocking!!

Kevin Duff Coke indeed... Of course, Keith wasn't high on coke, was he?
Richie B coca cola
him and mick taylor are using smack
Joe Massino yea 100%
You are referring to Mick Taylor having used heroin, not Mick Jagger, correct? I guess I may have heard or read that about Taylor. I do know I had heard he used so much cocaine he supposedly had to have a plastic septum to replace his natural one rotted away by the heavy coke usage.
There was also a joke back then that "Mick Taylor is the only one to have left The Rolling Stones alive." Of course that was also because, at the time, the only other Stone to have left the band had been Brian Jones, who died in 1969 form a supposed accidental drowning in his swimming pool. But since Taylor's departure (circa 1975) Bill Wyman (actually the oldest Stone) has also departed the band, and is still alive to this date. I have a feeling Taylor left the band to save his life, because had he continued that fast-living lifestyle he may well have gone the way of Brian Jones.
Anyway, I assumed your reference was to Mick Taylor and not to "the other Mick" in the band, because in none of the several biographies I have read of The Rolling Stones (including two of Jagger and one of Bran Jones; still have to read Keith Richard's "Life") did I ever see any confirmation about Jagger having taken any illicit drugs but cocaine and marijuana, plus perhaps some LSD experimentation (hanging out with then-girlfriend Marianne Faithfull and The Beatles) in the mid-1960s when that hallucinogen was still legal.
I always took it Jagger was more of dabbler than an addict anyway, when it came to drugs. And I think his tremendous work discipline and physical stamina (now into his 70s) would support that.
That Keith Richards is even still alive today is partly luck and, I guess, some good genes somewhere in his family bloodlines. But even Richards basically stopped heroin usage by the early 1980s (after he was arrested in Canada and faced some serious legal prosecution), and has mostly just been a heavy drinker of alcohol ever since. But even alcohol intake must have, by now, slowed down for Richards, who seems generally coherent whenever he is interviewed. Drunks aren't usually very coherent.
As for Jagger's alcohol use, even that has always been rather moderate. And these days Jagger is more into yoga and exercise than chemicals. I'm guessing the strongest beverage Jagger would drink regularly these days would be the occasional beer or glass of wine, as well the old reliable British cup of tea. Jagger is actually a rather traditional guy in many ways. He certainly didn't accept that knighting as "Sir Mick" for nothing. But I have always loved that contradiction between the Stones' music and assumed wildness and the reality of their lives. A good deal of their legend has been carefully crafted, especially in the earlier days when managed by Andrew Loog Oldham..
Mick Taylor he's so beautiful
How crazy this took place a year before I was born and he is STILL DOING THIS AND I AM 47 YEARS OLD.... and I feel so tired all the time.

Back then, they have already been in business for 10 years. It is remarkable... In their mid twenties they have accomplished so much and revolutionized not only rock music, but also social life.
Social life? Why?
@@angie565656 Just look back in the time. Such music was not in order back then. They managed to reveal the spirit of their time and inspired an entirely different generation. Some things were established that enabled modern music.
Let It Bleed 1969 was their 10th LP in the US. By the interview Sticky Fingers and Exile were also out. How much touring had they done by 1973? And promo gigs? They had done some serious work hours by 1973.

Are you afraid of your audience? What kind of stupid question is that?
Maybe he meant it as "have you ever experienced stagefright?"... which, I agree, in the case of Mick Jagger seems kind of a "stupid question"...
I was of course not thinking about stagefright. I was thinking about the Altamont festival. Apparently you have not seen "Gimme Shelter"... Maybe the question is harder to understand today, but that disaster took place only four years before this interview, so Altamont was fresh in the memories at the time. 4 people died during the concert, one of them stabbed right under the stage, many were badly wounded, Hells Angels got on the stage, Marty Balin (Jefferson Airplane) was knocked out, Stephen Stills was knifed. Jagger was punched in the face before playing. And the least you could say is the Stones did not look at ease on stage. I was not more explicit in my question because the Stones do not like being reminded of Altamont and could have stopped the interview. BTW, this video is only part of the interview. Questions about music (Exile was fresh out) have been cut out this version.
I have seen it and I know about Altamont as well. There's nothing in you questiion that suggested any of that. Even Jagger, Richards and Taylor struggled to understand what you meant by the question. So please, don't try to rewrite the interview. if you in fact meant "dangerous/violent audiences, you had the opportunity to clarify that during the interview, which obviously you didn't (at least in the present section). And my first remark wasn't meant to insult you, rather to excuse the question of someone I perceived to be a young nervous interviewer at that time. I did that given a previous harsh remark on yourself. So I fail to understand why you decided to aim your anger towards me, rather than the person who orignally criticized your question.
corleth84 There is no anger against anybody, and I remember having clicked "Answer" under Pete's comment, not under yours as I'm doing now, so you were, in my mind, not concerned. I was certainly not thinking about stagefright; which indeed would be foolish about the Stones. I explained in my first answer why I was not more explicit : I did not want the Stones to pull a face and say "Next journalist please", as they are reputed not to like questions about Altamont. And I mentioned "Maybe the question is harder to understand today, but that disaster took place only four years before this interview, so Altamont was fresh in the memories at the time."
BTW, "don't try to rewrite" your comment : writing that somebody has asked "kind of a stupid question" is not "trying to excuse the question" :-) (but you probably sincerely had the feeling it was).
Man, if I had known at the time that I would be arguing about this interview 44 years later !
No problem... The thing is I was the one who mentioned the stagefright" possibility... so your comment, albeit unintentionally, deflected towards me. Stay well. BTW, I wonder if after July 6th 1977, people started avoiding staying in the front row of Pink Floyd shows because... well you know the story. ;-P

This interview was taken around the time that WNEW F.M. played The Band Live in Brussels on The King Biscuit Flower Hour. The Rolling Stones were at there peak with Mick Taylor & Billy Preston during that period. I saw them in 1975 at MSG featuring Ron Wood on guitar I was 15 years old.
