    This season, the most minutes per game is Demar Derozan at 37.6 minutes. AI averaged 41.1 mins for a whole career in the 90s and 00s. In the league right now he run circles around EVERY body for 48 mins EVERY game.

    • @waltermitchell2432

      Players play less minutes because the talent in the league has gotten better. AI would not play more minutes in todays nba, hed play less.

    • @k-ri2023
      @k-ri2023 10 місяців тому

      @mitchell2432 Players today play fewer minutes in order to avoid injuries and the wear and tear of the game. This decision is not based on competition, but rather on the request of players who possess the level of talent such as AI, who would be better than 95% of the league in any era. If we were to bring AI from the 2000s to this era, he would still play the same amount of minutes as he wouldn't want to come out, and the team would oblige unless he had injuries that prevented him from playing.

      Players who played in the 00s played in the late mid 10-20s and every last on of them did not play even 38 minutes per game. Kobe, Bron, CP3, etc. All players play less, because there are more players that are worthy of playing minutes and it's in the best interest of the top guys to play less minutes to prolong their careers.

The game is wide open now and primarily Pick and roll, which means he gets easier shots.. which increases efficiency. He also would benefit from how smaller players get calls in today's game. You give a guy with his skill set and you cant touch him or play defense hes gonna average 40 and up.in today's game big men cant stay in the key like they used to.... You would know this if you paid attention to the defensive schemes in the 90's vs today, which is trash... The NBA you are watching now is designed to have a high scoring game which caters to the fan's liking -more scoring....i see better defense played during a pick up game!

    Windy said, "they wouldn't let him play 41 minutes per game", who are they? These dudes aren't playing 40+ minutes a game because they don't want to play 40+ minutes a game and if some team rep can control minutes that just shows the softness of the team.

    I don't think Brian knows basketball it's like he's never heard of Luka Dončić Russell, Westbrook or Trae Young and yeah, his team would let him play 40 minutes the only reason why players play 35 minutes is because the players themselves usually don't want to play more minutes. Kd was playing 40 mins a game LeBron James was leading the NBA in minutes at 39 years old. I'm pretty sure they would let a young Allen Iverson play 40 minutes a game if he was adamant about playing 40 minutes a game NBA star players also can sub themselves in and sub themselves out so I don't think he knows what he's talking about.

      Let’s talk numbers then nerd, when AI averaged 33ppg the league average was 97, today it’s 115, the average pace was 90, now it’s 99, now lets talk ball, there’s more space and they play less aggressive defense. You get it now? Bums.

    • @TheClassic31
      @TheClassic31 10 місяців тому

      @@Alex-wz9ze Great let’s talk numbers. AI averaged 33 once in his career. In 05-06 immediately following the NBA removing hand-checking, what supposedly made 90’s defenses so “tough”. Following year he averaged 31. Current average PPG is 115 which is an 18 point difference from 05-06, but numbers would also tell you that the average bench in 05-06 attributed for 27.7 PPG, while the current NBA bench attributes for 35.0 PPG. That’s 10.7 PPG left averagely per team which spreads over 5 starters….. that’s 4-5 shots. Iverson’s FG% that same year was 44.7 which doesn’t even top Steph Curry’s CAREER FG%. AI’s 3PT% was even worse at 32.3 that season. The numbers say that AI doesn’t have the shooting ability nor the efficiency to average 40+ in today’s NBA. Let’s talk ball tho🤣

    Brian definitely doesn't know what he's talking about. Load management doesn't apply to Iverson that's why he would definitely average 40ppg+ as he said. The reason why players have reduced playing time now was because they complained a lot about fatigue and risk injury. Brian was talking as if there is no player in the NBA right now who plays near 40 mins/game. Iverson can get that 40ppg below 40mins.

    Wendy I llove you man... AI in his prime would curse Larry Brown out for sitting him down for rest... Allen Iverson loves to run and attack the basket and led the leage in steals 3 times and the led league in scoring 4 times without the Harden travel step and during the hand checking era.
    43 points seems accurate when NBA teams don't like defense and rely on zone rather than man to man.
    AI is the only combo guard who needed more help to win a chip but will get you the finals.
    Shot out to Aron McKee... Eric Snow... Theo Ratliff and Larry Brown.
