Instagram makes you look good because of their pixel manipulation algorithm: makes your face more symmetrical and stretched vertically and all that good stuff. It also does some lighting manip like contrast and levels adjustment. But most of the distortion is because people are using pinhole lens on their smart phones. If you use a wider lens like on a DSLR, then it'll have less distortion. These are basic photography principles. If you don't want to look round, use harsher lighting in your vids to get harder shadows and contrast. Soft lighting wraps around your face and doesn't have any contrast. Remember, it's all theatrics.

hahaha it's tilted slightly and there's a real purposes. They're tilted because my walls are blank so adds character to the foreground. Also for lighting purposes if you look slightly up it'll light up your face more getting rid of harsh shadows that are created from too much top light.
