- This is one of our customer cars that has been an ongoing shop project in the pursuit of finding the limits of stocking fueling, running a Garrett PowerMax GT2260S turbocharger.
Full weight and interior, straight 93 octane with no modifications to the fuel system (no MPI / stock HPFP), no water-methanol injection and thoroughly custom tuned by GERSpeed and United Motorsport.
These are some of the highest numbers, if not the highest numbers we have seen for the MQB platform on stock fueling/no meth.
Thanks for providing the numerous different dyno numbers. It’s something more people should do to keep people honest. I jist got my GT2260 calibrated made 395 on a Mustang with a J1349 cf of .98 on E30. The car feels fantastic.
Watched this video several times already, that is my exact time I ran on my Vortex 93 with hpfp and stock sensors, 11.53 at 119.06 with a 3.45 0-60 at +633 DA nice to see the speedo movement 😊
you have a slightly bigger turbo and a fueling mod but run same time. Shows how good UM is.
@@LoXHumaN UM is s great tune, however is not necessarily fair to say that my setup was better at the time, it was tuned at 27 psi at the time because of the stock sensors limitations, so they were both equal at the time, I have seen the 2260 push close to 30lbs at redline at sea level, I upgraded the sensors and boost to 31 lbs on pump, ran a 11.18 with a max out lpfp, I am tuning on water meth pushing 33.5 lbs but haven’t ran it yet.
Looking into stuffing one of these into a C7.5 A6 😈 Oh I can't wait 🤜🏽🤛🏽
LOVE this turbo! I have it retrofitted to my MK6 GLI. I am unfortunately out of fueling though at around 400 crank hp. Need HPFP for sure. Awesome build. Would love to get an a3 next and go this route with the AWD!
Here in a handful of weeks, I'll be looking to hand you the keys to my gti for the same treatment.
Awesome - looking forward to it!
I have the same turbo on my mk7 gti you need a aftermarket hpfp to get the most outta 93.
I am installing the GT2260s on my 2015 Audi A3 Quattro and i am worried about the reliability of having that much power on this motor. How’s is yours holding up after a year?
@@BigTurboA3 we have done countless of these and they are all going strong. Quality tuning is key - we highly recommend United Motorsport.
Do i need to have a full aftermarket cat back? I have an after market downpipe in my s3 8v (decat) and dont want an aftrtmarket cst back because of the drone sound/vibration
How much extra power would you make by adding a HPFP only, and retuning on 93?
Marginal. We recommend going straight MPI - no need to upgrade the HPFP. The car is back in our shop and we are about to publish another video with the car on MPI E85.
So sick. How much was this build altogether?
You can get away with this upgrade for as little as $5,000 including turbo and supporting mods.
Machaa'الله good luck ❤️
What exhaust is it running? Is it a custom straight piped (no muffler) exhaust? I’ve been searching for an off the shelf no muffler exhaust and there seems to be none out there, only custom made.
The exhaust is indeed a custom, straight pipe system.
What catback is on this car? Sounds great!
It is a custom catback with just a single resonator.
is it for daily drive and there won't be any issues if I went for 98ron and with stock HPFP/MPI?
also is this a safe tune for daily car?
All our GT2260s builds are running strong and make for excellent dailies. Stock and upgraded fueling.
Hi! is it enough to replace the is20 on garrett powermax stage 1 without intercooler and downpipe?
You can run with with stock intercooler and downpipe but certainly not ideal.
Hi, just curious, is that torque rating at the wheels in Ft-lb or Nm? Thanks!
The torque figures are in foot-pounds.
How much a diference compared in a s3 8v with an is38 (rev limit ecu and tcu tune stage 2+ with after market decat DP, forge carbon fiber intake, after market cts turbo intercooler and loba hpfp) is it worth it or no sstancial duference for the price of the garret 2260s (about 2.000 usd)?
Sorry I’m kinda late but I think it’s like 70-120hp difference depending on supporting mods
@@matthew2383 70 to 120 hp over a full ful bolt on stage 2+ (stock is38)? Didn't believe it was so much. I thought it was about 30 to 40 hp more only
How much of a difference from the is20? Does it pull stronger
It is a massive difference from IS20. Especially up top.
100/200 ?
Why only 93 octane fuel?
We are going full E85 MPI on this car soon!
Same internals as the gti right?
That is correct.
would a 2015 S3 8V be much the same?
Yes but with slightly shorter gearing.
the S3 would handle that power with more safety cushion , it has stronger internals and an improved cylinder head / better HPFP /injectors compared to the A3
@@volkssturm9694 The bottom ends are actually the same. Crank, rods, pistons nearly the same. The differences are in the head and injectors as you mention. The cars would make the same power roughly. In theory the S3/R motor is a little stronger but its not proven really. Both are safe to about 450whp
@@clipsncasts1 crank , rods and pistons are not the same, the S3 has fortified cranks/rods/pistons. The standard 2.0T is a solid engine but don't kid yourself the S3's beefed up 2.0T can handle more power reliably in the long run. The S3's can safely handle over 500 WHP without question, you are taking a gamble with the A3 at that power level, so yes, the S3 can handle 40-50 WHP more without taking a huge gamble. There are MANY differences not just "head and injectors". The S3 has a lower compression ratio, better exhaust valves and seat rings, exhaust camshaft, piston cooling jets, higher charge pressure, upgraded radiator, reinforced connecting rods, gray cast iron crankcase.
Is that an upgrade from the is38?
Yep! However if you currently have an IS38 we recommend the bigger jump to the G25-660. The GT2260S is better suited for IS20 factory equipped models.
@@gerspeed why is that better for is20 oem drivers ??
@@aliyildirim2675 it’s a much more logical step up especially for the money.
@@gerspeed better from is20 on a hybrid is38 is much better it spools much earlier is38 then the Garrett
@@aliyildirim2675 the GT2260S is cheaper than most quality hybrids and yields better power than an OEM IS38.
Is that ea888 gen3b engine?
No, this is a CNT engine code. Only the FWD 2.0Ts came with the CZR B-Cycle engine.
So how much were you limited by fueling?
Quite a bit - the car is completely stock factory fueling, not even a high pressure fuel pump. We expect to see another ~100WHP on full MPI and ethanol when the car comes back for the aforementioned mods later this month and a ~10.7 to 10.8 1/4 pass.
@@gerspeed if you add a hpfp what can you expect in terms of power gain? thanks.
@@gerspeed if you add only hpfp and you use higher octane fuel, let's say 100 octane, what power gains can you expect? Thanks.
@@georgemilev3244 hard to tell - comes down to tuning as well. On ethanol with MPI one for example can expect another 75WHP.
@@gerspeed do not have any easy access to corn so i can do only 100 octane fuel :)
Hello, are the hose adapters required
Hey there! Which hose adapters are you referring to?
@@gerspeed adapter supplied by garrett
@@Di-Mit the GT2260s should be utilizing the factory lines. It is the G25-660 that comes with proprietary replacement lines.
@@gerspeed ok but garrett provides threes adapters shims with the gt2260s
@@Di-Mit you should need nothing more than just the turbo on the 2.0T MQBs.
Stock intercooler?
Integrated Engineering!
We stock them!
How much boost?
This is on a stock MAP sensor so only about 29PSI peak.
@@gerspeed hurry up and turn that bish up. I have some 4 bar map sensor I can send you guys. 😉
@@gerspeed I’m just trying to see if this is really gonna be a turbo for my car. I’d personally wanna do port inj and E. You think it’ll do 450-500 hp?
