Maybe they'll do a part 2? Patrick Swayze wasn't a "famous" actor in the 70s, he really didn't make a name for himself till the 80s--and on top of that he passed away in 2009, which means he has no "now" (this is a "then and now" video).
All great looking men in their youth, but those who have not had plastic surgery and let nature take its course, look far better than the likes of Ryan O’Neal who looks a mess.
I think it's just society's expectations of what women "should" look like, or "should" do to maintain/enhance their appearance (using makeup, dieting, etc), that strongly influences that perception. In most if not all of the ways that are meaningful, there's no difference.

The ones who used surgery/botox, decades ago, probably look worse now than they would've if they'd never had those procedures. That's my overwhelming impression from all these "Then & Now"-type vids (that I've wasted way too much time watching, sigh...).
The before picture is with makeup and the later picture is without makeup showing their age, It's like comparing apples with oranges. A good makeup artist could make most of these people look like they did 40 years ago.
It's mostly a matter of perception, or society's expectations, whatever you want to call it (about women aging, as opposed to men). When men get old and gray (and paunchy) they still look "distinguished", but there's isn't a similar euphemism for older women as far as I know. That, and having plastic surgery or related procedures (mostly women I think), which tends to make people look worse in the long run (or that's my distinct impression, anyway).
Gene Hackman is one of my favorite actors and criminally underrated in my opinion.
