I love the swagger they have in this! Kicking shit over and showing their power and energy. The cutesy is still there I think .. Moa and Momo did a lot of smiling and stuff in here.
But yeah, everything about this sing and video is utterly undeniable!

Yoooh you made the "West side" connection i can totally go with it, West coast representing Tupac Shakur, N.W.A, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre old school yo! 😁
This song is already a banger at live performance and you're right about this being different tone than the new album songs from "The Other One" but i guess is a turn to take a break and go back to their roots with the fun side and more energetic and happy vibes like a Black Babymetal song, you can hear some similarities with "Onedari Daisakusen" if you take a look closer.
Love BM going gansta pose at the end, they did it before when releasing the photocards on TOO - Black Box exclusive for fans and getting also access to the exclusive snippets of the new songs.
"Wasshoi" is another shout used in Japanese festival when carry the shrines, similar to sore and soya you heard in Megitsune.
Thanks for sharing this guys and see you next time 🦊🤘🎸

Welcome back. "Wasshoi! Wasshoi! Wasshoi! Wasshoi!“ If anything this is a bit of a throwback to their earlier style than a change to a more grown up version of themselves. I'm not sure how much of the album 'The Other One' that they released in March you have listened to, but if anything that version of BABYMETAL is on the more mature side.
You just know the live performances of this will be completely wild and the crowd will go nuts! 🤘🤪🤘

Love this song. Love that they are giving Momo the spotlight to show-off her quirky personality, love that they've embraced her so openly, and love the direction this band is going in! If their future songs are as exciting and amazing as this song was then Babymetal is going to keep growing more and more, eventually over taking the biggest metal bands out there possibly lol So excited to see what's in store for Babymetal!!

Psi, I agree with you that Tom Morello,s collaboration with Baby Metal is a great boost for J-Rock in the U.S. I would love to see some more J-rock and U.S. artist collabs in the future. Would Asterism benefit from this. How about Band Maid? (with the appropriate artists, of course.)

Great reaction, thanks! Nice to see you again.
"Metali!!" (metari) is a play on words with "metal" and "matsuri" (festival) since this is a matsuri (traditional Japanese festival) oriented song. Just like "Megitsune" is. It even has several references to "Megitsune" both in the lyrics (like the chants "Sore!" and "Wasshoi") and the visuals on the music video: the traditional tea room reminds the stage called "Nohgakudo" at Asagaya Shinmei-gu Shrine from "Megitsune" MV. Also the fact they clear the traditional tea paraphernalia off the tatami (by kicking it 🤣) to dance properly has a correlation in "Megitsune" when they get rid of the traditional kimonos.
Also very happy for Momoko on her first song and music video as an official member. Including that special feature on the kabuki style speech in the middle.
Great song, very groovy and funky. Love Su-metal's clean yet aggressive vocals. Cool collaboration with Tom Morello. And so glad to see the fandom hyped and going nuts as ONE (...for once, hahaha...) . 😁
    Until next time!
    🤘🦊

Yes! kicking aside some of the restrictive traditions, while keeping the rest to be more inclusive to bring the people together in the modern age for a fun metal festival. Love it!
Definitely a better version of Pa Pa Ya with Megitsune, and BMC vibes.

Su's vocals is so awesome in this more powerful, aggressive.... I love the Japanese Kabuki theater feel of the song, with Momoko doing that narration bit in the middle....I'm all smiles.... Especially after that very confusing collab of Lil Uzi Vert.... Metali makes everything right in the Babymetal world.... Can't help headbanging all through this song.... Why couldn't they have come out with this song back in may when i was at their concert..😁😁😁😁😁🤘🦊🤘

    Nice reactin!! 🦊🏮
Some say this song is the return of BM in its early days. I agree with that.
Thankfully, there are many world-class bands that recognise BM as top-notch. Just some of the famous names that BM has supported, performed with or featured in supporting acts include Metallica, Korn, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Rob Halford, Dragonforce, Lady Gaga, Bring Me The Horizon, Sabaton, Lil Uzi Vert and now Tom Morello.
Rob Zombie gave a sermon against the BM antis.
It was the same with megitsune, when a song has a lot of Japanese culture in it, it is difficult to explain. Read only if you are interested, as the content may be a little removed from the song itself.
METALI is a word that adds METAL and 祭り(Matsuri=festival). And this song is a representation of a Japanese 夏祭り(Natsu Matsuri=summer festival). For us Japanese, these sound and lyrics make our Matsuri blood boil. Matsuri is the heart of the Japanese people. It is said that there are a total of 300,000 festivals in Japan, both large and small. Matsuri means a ritual for worshiping Gods or Buddha, or an event held in gratitude towards nature. 神輿(Mikoshi=portable shrine) is a carriage for Gods. In the festival, Japanese people get around the Mikoshi and carry it on their shoulders in order to worship Gods. While carrying the Mikoshi, the carriers will yell "Wasshoi, Wasshoi" or "Soiya, Soiya" or "Sore, Sore".(However, the calls vary considerably from region to region.)
神輿(Mikoshi=portable shrine) and お囃子(Ohayashi=festival music) of Matsuri have a history of more than 1,000 years and are etched in the DNA of the Japanese people.
赤子(akago) is baby, 金属(kinzoku) is metal.
The instrument used in the intro is the 三味線(shamisen), a three-line string instrument.
"Pii hyara" in the lyrics is the sound of a 篠笛(Shino bue=transverse flute) used at Matsuri.
"Dokkoisho" is the voice used when lifting heavy objects. The choreography when saying "dokkoisho" is the pose of carrying a heavy object on the shoulder.
The choreography when saying "Wasshoi" is a pose for carrying a Mikoshi(portable shrine).
MOMOMETAL speaks in the middle, that is 歌舞伎(kabuki) speaking.
MOMOMETAL's odd pose is the Kabuki climactic pose.
The lyrics "Odorin chai" and "Utain chai" are in the dialect of SU-METAL's birthplace, Hiroshima. In standard language, the words are "Odori nasai" and "Utai nasai", meaning "you should dance" and "you should sing".
The lines said by MOMOMETAL come from the 阿波おどり(Awa Odori), a traditional Japanese dance. Originally by.
    踊る阿呆に(Odoru Ahoo ni)、見る阿呆(Miru Ahoo)、同じ阿呆なら(Onaji Ahonara)踊らにゃ損損(Odoranya son son)!
(The dancers are fools, the watchers are fools. Both are fools alike so, why not dance?)
    ※踊る(odoru=dance),阿呆(ahoo=fool),見る(miru=view)
The funny-looking masks with their mouths agape are ひょっとこ(hyottoko).
If you are interested in Mikoshi, musical performances, etc., please search youtube for these characters and watch the videos. When the Japanese see this, our blood starts to boil.

Thanks again from Japan 有難う 💛 and Gesundheit! Bella ❤. The title is a synthesized word from two words : "Metal" and "Matsuri 祭 (festival)" → Metali. And if you want to know the deep meaning of the lyrics please check Professor Hartley's channel (Andrew Hartley).
I witnessed the world premiere (live debut) in the special show on Aug.16. At the venue, this song followed after the Western Kamis' splendid instrumental. Oh My Buddha! 😍 I got hyped like an idiot in the simplicity of this song and Momoko's solo speaking part with Kabuki style in the middle gives an amazing accent in the repetitiveness. The repetitive わっしょい "Wasshoi" is a call or yell used in Japanese Matsuri (festival). It is a kind of phrase to intensify people's excitement and especially to encourage the power of guys who are carrying a heavy Mikoshi that is similar to a float in the festival.

„Wasshoi“ is a chant that‘s very typical for Japanese festivals, especially when there‘s physical exertion, e.g. when transportable shrines are carried through the streets. It‘s similar to the „sore“ and „soya“ chants that you might remember from Megitsune.

Good morning friends. I saw Band-Maid for the first time on September 30, 2019. A week later l saw the Who with Liam Gallagher on October 9, 2019 and Babymetal at Aftershock on Oct 14. I hit a lick for sure. Babymetal was awesome and very well received at Aftershock. I will admit it took me several listens to warm up to this tune but warm up l have. Babymetal returns to Aftershock this October and if l may continue with my predictions l will not be surprised to see Tom appear for this song at that time. You folks are very nice people but as you know you really get to expect that from true fans of this amazing music. My very best regards.
