I heared this culture from my elders who hails from capiz. Also from our friends who came from tapaz. Some of this traditions were retained by ilonggos. My grandpa from my mother side was from mountains of panay my grandma from my fatherside was a manugbulong or shaman.
The Panay Bukidnon is the Pre-colonial Culture of Hispanized Ilonggo people, the Karay-as, Akeans, Hamtik. And still many of the fellow western Visayans laugh at it. The only Visayan Malayan Pre-colonial Culture left among in the Visayas. The remnants of the Kedatuan of Madja-as. We are lucky to have our pre colonial culture our identity western Visayans but others like Tagalog people gone theirs. We should appreciate and preserve this more than colonial culture.
I ask this from sheer curiosity and a genuinely open mind and heart: how are same-sex couples treated in this culture? Is homosexuality even a concept they are aware of?
