I am SO glad to hear you say that about The Drift, that you've never seen what it's doing, done quite like that! I thought the same thing, but then I second guessed myself and thought "well, maybe I just don't read a lot of this sort of thing?" But I know you do, so if anyone would know, you would! "Meticulously plotted"--that's exactly it. And I'd never heard of the Precious Substance book, but you convinced me before I even heard 5 seconds of your review!
Glad mood reading lead to such a fantastic reading month for you! My favorite book of March was The Odds by Jeff Strand - it was super fun. Added a few of these to my list, especially Look Closer! ❤
For my March - High end was Sherry Thomas "Tempest at Sea'.....loved it, 1880's murder on a cruise ship....Lady Sherlock wasn't even the main character! Low point, The Writing Retreat. Maybe I'm just too old and grumpy... LOL
Lol. Well that’s a bummer about The Writing Retreat. I don’t know what to expect. I’ve heard good things, but I also get the impression it gets wild. So I guess it just a letter of whether or not that type of ridiculousness is for me or not.
I loved Look Closer! One of my absolute faves last year! I sent David Ellis an email telling him how much I loved his story and he actually emailed me back! I thought that was really cool!
Such Pretty Flowers sounds very much up my alley, I love a good atmospheric southern/gothic horror book! Thanks for the recs. Also added Book of the Most Precious Substance to my TBR, have not seen anyone give that less than 4.5. My favorite book in March was How to Sell a Haunted House. If you want a couple of other gothic horror books I have loved, I would suggest The House of Footsteps by Mathew West and The Ghost Woods by CJ Cooke.
The Book of the Most Precious Substance has been languishing on my shelves, sounds like I need to put it on my priority cart. Gonna have to check into David Ellis as well. 💙
I love the Will Trent series, the first one isn't my favorite but Will is such a good guy, I hope you like these more and more as you go. One of the books which is about Will's backstory knocked my socks off :) I live for dark serial killer books and will try Jennifer Hillier for sure! I recommend the Archie and Gretchen series by Chelsea Cain, chef's kiss (unfortunately it seems that Chelsea Cain doesn't write thrillers anymore, sigh) 💙
I totally agree about The Drift. I don’t think I would have enjoyed it so much had I not kept character lists and made notes. But it was such a unique books and her writing is amazing. 💙
Sounds like a great round up of books! I might try the Will Trent series? I am not much into series so I have avoided it but I feel like you talked me into an attempt! I love your top/blouse so much. Compliments your hair beautifully! If I could have any hair it would be yours! I have wavy/curly hair but it’s very thin and fine
Thanks, Kelly!! ❤️ I would start with The Grant County Series If you haven’t read them. The first one is Blindsighted. Also, if you haven’t read much Karin Slaughter, Pretty Girls is a standalone and I think her best! I thrifted this blouse for a few bucks, it’s legit vintage from Sears. A great find!
What a wrap-up! Glad to hear you enjoyed Triptych. Karin Slaught3r consistently puts out great books that are always layered and dark. All of her books are not for people concerned about trigger warnings but these are full of them. I liked the character Angie but I'm not sold on Will yet. Hope you continue with the rest of the series. Happy April! 🐰✨ I have an important question for you. What are your thoughts on Book Depository shutting down for good later this month?
Yes, great take on Slaughter books in general. That’s how I feel about them too. I had no idea book depository shut down! I don’t know if I’ve ever actually bought a book from them. Is that the one where you could get UK covers shipped to the US?
You had a great reading month. I'm reading I Have Some Questions For You currently. I actually had 3 5 stars in books in March. Tear Me Apart by J.T Ellison, The Soulmate by Sally Hepworth and The Last Flight by Julie Clark.
I think you meant to post this on Gabby’s channel. Funnily, I just did the same thing a couple of days ago so I think I know what happened. You were watching Gabby’s video and started to comment when it switched over to mine. 😂 cheers! 🙌🏻
Love the video!! Got some more books added to my TBR. My favorite book was Curse Of The Reaper. Also I read Killing Stalking, a graphic horror. Wow is all I have to say. It’s hard to say I give it 5 stars because it is so crazy but I do. Reading the Soulmate right now. I am liking it so far. I appreciate all of your hard work on these videos! Cheers! 💙
I keep hearing about Curse of the Reaper, I don’t typically like slashers though so idk if it’s for me. I’m looking forward to The Soulmate, I’ve heard great things!
Awesome! I have a really weird relationship with that one because I related so much to the MC and the gas lighting really made me face some past trauma. But I completely respect it and him as an author! 🙌🏻
Omg the Oscar Pistorius stuff what a tragedy it was the 10 year anniversary this past February 😢 That book is definitely going on my tbr not to mention I can also totally relate to the anti-depressant stuff as well 🥲
That one just one of SOO many references. If you like true crime, you’ll enjoy finding those little tid bits. Wishing you all of the mental health serenity!!! ❤️
💙 My favorite book I read in March was The Husbands by Chandler Baker! Im definitely interested in the last book you talked about, Look Closer!! Going on my TBR!!
💙 I read Everyone in my family killed someone and gave it the same rating. This wasn't my typical genre. My best of March was The Drift and I'm hoping for a sequel!! The rest of the books I put on my TBR and I definitely ordered The Book of the Most Precious Substance while it's 5 bucks! 🥰💗📚
That’s tough. I started with The Grant County series (Blindsighted is the first book) and only just started Will Trent. There are spoilers in Will Trent for that series even though they’re different stories, they overlap. But that’s a lot of books to read just to get to The Silent Wife. But if you ever plan to read the other books in the Will Trent series, you should read them first because you will spoil yourself. If you don’t care, just go for it. ❤️
This month, I Have Some Questions for You and They Never Learn were the best fiction. I'm Glad My Mom Died, best non-fiction. Would highly recommend The Great Believers from Makkai💙
Nice! I feel pressure to read I’m Glad My Mom Died even though I don’t know who she is, I just keep hearing good things about it but I have no immediate interest. Definitely looking into Makkai’s backlist. Thanks!! 🙌🏻❤️
Hi Elizabeth! Love your channel and you’ve encouraged me to listen to more books 🫶🏼 I’ve actually used your link for Scribd and thank you so much! 60 free days to check up the app, I’m listening to Everyone in my family has killed someone 👌🏼
So glad to see more people reading and reviewing Look Closer! It was my favorite book of 2022! 💙💙
Nice! It’s such an underdog
For some reason!
Such pretty flowers sounds like a great spring read!
💯
My favorite was The Drift. 4..5 stars

💯 With three POVs? For sure. CJ Tudor is solid. Ooh! 😂Yes, I think you specifically would enjoy The Book of the Most Precious Substance!
💙💙💙 so many books to add to my tbr !!
Glad mood reading lead to such a fantastic reading month for you! My favorite book of March was The Odds by Jeff Strand - it was super fun. Added a few of these to my list, especially Look Closer! ❤
I haven’t heard of that one! I’ll check it out! ❤️

💙 I will definitely be picking up Look Closer!

Ok you got me added the Sara Gran 👌
❤️🙌🏻
I loved The Drift! Still need to loop back and watch the recording of your live show.
Yay!! 👏🏼
The blinking! 😮 Your videos are so well done!
Thanks, Jess!!! ❤️✨
Yes girl!! The Butcher, Look Closer, and The Book of the Most Precious Substance 🔥🔥 All 3 blew my mind and I adore them so much.
🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 We are in sync!
The Book of the Most Precious Substance has been languishing on my shelves, sounds like I need to put it on my priority cart. Gonna have to check into David Ellis as well. 💙
💯 Happy reading!!! 🙌🏻❤️

Thank you ! 💙 I can't pick one so my 2 five stars of the month were I Have Some Questions for You and Winter World, both in audiobook.
Ooh! Winter World sounds right up my alley!
100% picking up I Have Some Questions For You because after the podcast where you talked about it and this wrap up I am sold.
Also I wanna read The Butcher so bad!
🙌🏻 Yes! I hope you have a good time with it!
Okay yes I will be picking up Look Closer you convinced me
Nice! Looking forward to your review!
I totally agree about The Drift. I don’t think I would have enjoyed it so much had I not kept character lists and made notes. But it was such a unique books and her writing is amazing. 💙
💯🙌🏻
Some of my favorite books for March were Goodnight Beautiful, The Inmate and What Lies in the Woods. 💙
I’m definitely interested in What Lies in the Woods!
Sounds like a great round up of books! I might try the Will Trent series? I am not much into series so I have avoided it but I feel like you talked me into an attempt!

I read Connie Briscoe's new book You Never Know and really enjoyed it, recommend.
Ooh. That one sounds good! Thanks, Tammy! ❤️🙌🏻

My favourite book of the month was surprisingly The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches 🧙♀️💙
That one sounds really sweet. ❤️
I just got Look Closer from the library, so excited to read it now! 💙My fave reads of March were The First Day of Spring and The Other Side of Night
Yes! The First Day of Spring was so good!
You had a great reading month. I'm reading I Have Some Questions For You currently. I actually had 3 5 stars in books in March. Tear Me Apart by J.T Ellison, The Soulmate by Sally Hepworth and The Last Flight by Julie Clark.
I haven’t read any of those! Sounds like we both had a great reading month! Cheers. 🙌🏻❤️
I love the cover of Such Pretty Flowers 🥹
❤️
🩵 Great recap, TFS! 💕
I didn’t rate, “Look Closer” poorly… I DNF’d it at 70%. 😜 💙
Oh no! 😂
💙 You look so happy. I am interested in Look Closer. Thank you for recommendation
Awe, thank you! ❤️🙌🏻
Hi Gabby, I wish we had a Half Price Bookstore.😢
I think you meant to post this on Gabby’s channel. Funnily, I just did the same thing a couple of days ago so I think I know what happened. You were watching Gabby’s video and started to comment when it switched over to mine. 😂 cheers! 🙌🏻
The Silent Companions was my favourite book in March 💙
Ooh! I marked it as “want to read” at some point on goodreads but I have no recollection of that. It sounds good!
Love the video!! Got some more books added to my TBR. My favorite book was Curse Of The Reaper. Also I read Killing Stalking, a graphic horror. Wow is all I have to say. I read The Soulmate a few weeks ago. Really enjoyed it! Enjoy!
💙 currently reading The Drift, your endorsement has me excited to finish it!
About 65-70% it starts to get really interesting. You’ll know it when you get to it
Favorite book of the month was hands down The Southern Book Clubs Guide To Slaying Vampires. It was a 5 star and probably my favorite Grady Hendrix
Awesome! I have a really weird relationship with that one because I related so much to the MC and the gas lighting really made me face some past trauma. But I completely respect it and him as an author! 🙌🏻
@@ReadingWryly I totally understand that. It was so frustrating at times!
I gave Look Closer 5 stars also. So good!!!💙
That one threw me for a loop! 😅❤️
💙My favorite book from March was The Watchers by A.M. Shine.
Oh wow. That one sounds really good! Adding it to my TBR
Can confirm Everyone in my Family knew I was reading an ebook. Decent cozy mystery.
Cheers! 🙌🏻❤️
You must pick up The Writing Retreat by Julia Bartz! It's a wild ride! Gabby gave it 5 stars!
Nice! I’m actually planning on reading it for an upcoming vlog. ❤️
I am reading The Writing Retreat right now. First time reading by this author.l
I read first five chapters.
💙 My favorite book I read in March was The Husbands by Chandler Baker! Im definitely interested in the last book you talked about, Look Closer!! Going on my TBR!!
Yay, The Husbands was SOO good!
💙
💙💙💙
💙 I read Everyone in my family killed someone and gave it the same rating. This wasn't my typical genre. My best of March was The Drift and I'm hoping for a sequel!! The rest of the books I put on my TBR and I definitely ordered The Book of the Most Precious Substance while it's 5 bucks! 🥰💗📚
Awesome! I would love for The Drift to have a sequel. I feel like she set it up for one. 🤞❤️🙌🏻
I skipped right to #3 Undone in the Will Trent series (where Sarah is re-introduced) and the series is 5 ⭐️s from there! 🙌
Nice!! Good to know!
Should i read the entire will trent series? I recently thrifted the silent wife not realizing it was apart of this series.
That’s tough. I started with The Grant County series (Blindsighted is the first book) and only just started Will Trent. There are spoilers in Will Trent for that series even though they’re different stories, they overlap. But that’s a lot of books to read just to get to The Silent Wife.
