I have done the vertical. Tough on the body working that low to ground. As long as you have a log lift easier to run through the horizontal in my opinion. Take care Matt
I want to ask you a question I subscribe to you 2 or 3 times And every time I go on I have to subscribe to you again I have a whole bunch That does the same thing I have to subscribe to him Do you have any of that problem
I notice that my subscribers do fluctuate up and down a lot. I’ve heard of other channels having the same issue though. I’m sorry that is happening to you.
Nice splitter. I’m surprised how many guys are willing to part with cash on hand(or worse yet, finance) to try to gain minutes per cord. I think I’d keep what you have. Maybe add a 6 way wedge.
Thank you and I don’t plan on upgrading anytime soon I was just saying a tool that I think would be more beneficial. As for the minutes per cord idea. If you go from a box store to a commercial splitter it is a massive difference! I used to split a cord of firewood on my countyline in 3 hours. It takes me an hour on my wolfe ridge… but I get what you are saying about upgrading for a couple minutes. For big production those minutes turn into hours but for someone splitting wood for a boiler they won’t see a big enough difference to validate the difference in cost.
I use a county line vertical splitter for big rounds, then i take the splits over to the eastonmade ultra. I'm hoping to uprgade to a 100% vertical splitter next summer, either the wolf ridge or the eastonmade
Good evening, the wood that is not suitable to sell. If you have a wood stove. Burn that wood for yourself. Instead of a burn pile, in your yard. Just a thought, Joe Capo.
Just started watching your channel. Who and how do you sell your wood to, if it’s not just for your own use ? Do you own the Wolfridge or is it on loan ? Thnx…
Glad you found the channel. I sell to people who burn in fireplaces and fire pits mostly. I sell by word of mouth and FB marketplace. I bought the wolfe ridge myself.
@@FirewoodontheHill Got it, thanks. Do you do bulk deliveries at all, or just roadside stand racks and bundles ? I’m just a homeowner splitting my own wood from tree service stuff that was cut down and bucked in my own yard. Thnx…
Yeah I don’t split sweet gum usually. I tell the tree service to take it back but they brought some little stuff this time that I’m going to try to split it. I’m not messing with the big stuff It’s not worth the time because it splits so ugly.
I just got a hernnea in lower stomach and a 16 foot trailer load of misquite wood to cut up , so I need to get carb rebuild on family mule and get busy cutting 😊😊
I bet you’re glad you picked up the pergola over the splitter on a day like that!! Nice to set goals for sure. I need to practice it more myself. Take care Matt👊🏻
I have a 30 year old vertical splitter and yes in that red oak I could out split that 4 way wedge . If I get a Wolfridge I will also get a 12 way wedge for it . I am also looking at the Eastonmade pizza wedge . But I am also close to faith farm so I would have dealer support with wolf ridge .
Faith farm has a lot of models there now but I don’t know how long they will have that selection. If you were serious I would go check them out because you will be able to compare each model in person. When I bought my splitter from there they had 1 splitter on the floor so I had to order mine.
I did a few weeks ago very nice units . I am also looking at a split fire or my excavator for the big rounds . I have one for the skidsteer but it’s slow and you rip the wood yard up with skidsteer so much .
@@jasonpinnix1905 I see, so you have been looking but you haven’t figured out what you want yet. There’s a lot of choices out there. All machines have their pros and cons. There’s not a perfect machine for everything. Just choose what’s the most important to you.

Thanks for the input. Have a great day.

Heck yeah. Make those goals and achieve them. I like the vertical splitters myself.

Yeah I don’t have a wood stove or fireplace unfortunately.
Hi. I enjoy your channel. What width and gauge of wrap do you use? Thank you and have a great day?
Thank for watching. I use 12 inch 80 gauge stretch wrap. I hope you have a great day as well!
How have the new guides on the rails holding up on splitter
They are doing great. No issues or wear so far.
Keep at it
Will the conveyor go any faster?
Yes it will

@@mikemccormick3764 yeah I can deliver up to a full cord. Deliveries is where I make most of my money. I add a delivery charge so that adds up.
Having a Gum tree cut down tomorrow Matt Should I cut it up for firewood or have them take it ? Thanks bro
Tell them to take. It’s not worth the time and effort.
Doesn't take many rounds that size to fill a trailer up quickly!!🌧⛈️🌧⛈️
That’s correct!
Good ole sweetgum 😂😂 I have too much of that crap here, future boiler food. Nice splitting session and I like your goal for a cord a week. 💪💪
Yeah I don’t split sweet gum usually. I tell the tree service to take it back but they brought some little stuff this time that I’m going to try to split it. I’m not messing with the big stuff It’s not worth the time because it splits so ugly.
Watch you don’t get caught in it

We’ll get healed up first! I Hope for a fast recovery!
Get a generator and some one to help you, don’t waste your time and make some money 😊😊
Get the fastest material first is what I’m thinking 🤔
Yeah unfortunately it’s all about the wood moister content. That’s why I spilt my old wood first.
I bet you’re glad you picked up the pergola over the splitter on a day like that!! Nice to set goals for sure. I need to practice it more myself. Take care Matt👊🏻
Yes that pergola has saved me a lot! Get you some goals, they will help motivate you.
I enjoy running the saws I rebuild and I like to test them out good 👍
I don’t even have a stove but my daughter does and they are in Dry Oklahoma
I don’t burn wood myself!
A vertical splitter would come in handy at times, it may be in my future in a couple of years!! Stay Hydrated and Have a Safe Day
Yes it would. Oh nice!
Hey Matt , that was some nice splitting you done there !!!! 👍🏻🪵🇺🇸
Thank you sir!

Matt that rain is headed our way. Goals are good.
Hopefully it moves fast for you. It rained a lot here.
Your conveyor seems to be going awfully fast
Yeah that’s how the speedy conveyor works!
