Joe's supercharged Ford Falcon XR8 features a Super Cobra Jet V8 engine and sequential gearbox. 😁 Taken from our first fullBOOST / Springy Performance dyno night.
I have the same year BA XR8 from 1 year old as well but in a supercharged ute with one of the 5.4 .racing ute motors in it running on E85 from when they use to race them and it is a beast with the amount of torque it produces. I love the engine bay on this one.
Congratulations on a prestine example awsome upgrades most only dream off.Ive had the BA Boss ute & they have a note of there own the ford V8 , besides timing chain issues was brilliant loved it & such a cool cruiser ,wish now I'd kept it for so many reasons.Congrats again anyhow best combo I've seen👍
not many people are willing to pursue the old 5.4 modular to this end but wow! cost vs gains though I can't see any other reason other then pure love for the platform as to why you would take this route. awesome build and I'm glad at least that someone has done it. 6 pumps though like WOW!!! crazy mad scientist stuff hahaha. thanks for showing it. and I love the little thumbnail on your Fullboost logo that an GT86 cluster isn't it?
if you havent already check out gapsauce hes got a boss 290 on some basic mods and a cam and is running high 11s and making 420rwhp (7600rpm) beating cars with 500 - 600 hp
Some of the cars the 5.4 is used in around the world are big dollar builds with huge power, GT40 for one.. Like any motor, you just need to know what it's strengths and weaknesses are and then recitfy those issues with quality parts and well thought out modifications that suit your application.
@@BulkP3nguin 11's is okay but I think the sound of 7600 would be insain. You don't see these v8's mided much and I don't know why. Is it a strength issue, cost?? I have heard a camed xr8 and it m I at definately wasn't cheap but damn it sounded good and very different. I do think they should of increased the bore diameter but kept the same stroke
@@independentassesor2630 well of the factory floor they weren't the quickest 0-100 car because they weren't released with variable cam timing so they only made max power at 4500 and over which only gives them 1500 rpm to pull hence why these need more rpm. Look up gapsauce on UA-cam you'll love the sound of his car at 7600rpm down the 1/4. hands down best sounding v8 in my opinion...
Totally choice, real bad ass. I run a 2006 Bfll Boss 400 with the Whipple supercharger and Yella Terra injection on top and growler air intake, backed by a 6 speed, 530+ horses can get me into trouble let alone 800+ Awesome,, But with only 54000ks mine spends a lot of time in the garage.
Imo the interior is where the ford ba/bf beats out the vy/vz. The unchanged holden VT curvy doorcards just don't fit with the more square early 2000s aesthetic. Personally I also think the FG was a downgrade in terms of interior styling; they took the bf interior and tried to make it curvy and it just looks ugly. That said, I do love the look of the VE interiors, the VF even more. Even the VT/VX is pretty good, especially since the styling is consistent (albeit a bit cheap and plasticy)
Yep. Basis was Trinity 5.4 short block and DOHC Cobra heads. Ford Australia did extra work with cams, intake, exhaust, fueling, ect Ford US copied the design, put a blower on them and shoehorned them into GT500s from around 2005. Crying shame Ford Australia didnt utilise the Alloy block 5.4 from the GT(40) for a lightweight Falcon GT(HO)
@@gcallison1695 I see I was suffering a bit of confusion. 5.4L 3 valve was the triton not Trinity. The 5.8L Trinity and the 5.4L 4 valve heads look the same on the outside to me.
had one those boot spoilers should of been used for landfill left over from the ugly duckling Au series give me a GT boot spoiler any day other than that lovely car
Are you talking about a Pontiac? because if so you are completely wrong. The GTOs are a visually and mechanically modified 3rd generation V2-VZ Holden Monaro which was based on the Holden Commodore of the same age
The boss is built for boost application they love it perfect combo and that engine bay looks awesome 👍
That's a wicked Falcon. Very unique. The sequential box is porn.

Bloody nice car! Love my XR8's

Is that it, what a teaser episode, insane car, Joe, if ya gonna do something, hey! Thank you fullBOOST.
Very neat, I imagine its a heap on fun to drive.

This is the dream street v8 supercar so cool
Beautiful thank you 🙏 I need to win the lottery.
great video
I’ve always wanted to drive a sequential manual I imagine it’s a joy to slam through the gears at full chat
You can have a powerful sportsbike for the cost of the Seq trans alone!
I want more !!
Unreal 👊💥😁

Wow awesome
A full feature on this car boys 🥵
Pro 9 can sort the diff, in Melbourne ask for John
Didn't you guys put this video out a few months ago?
yes on the full boost channel this isn't the main channel as it appears
Not often you’ll see a car and it’s engine sit rock steady on a dyno at full throttle.
Nice, the truck engine needs the super charger and I think was actually built for it
That would be a fun car to drive not sure about 6 fuel pumps. Seems a tad unnecessary.
Beautiful car, and I’m a Holden bloke. The only things that ruin it for me is that steering wheel and centre part of the dash(climate control/stereo)

9 inch diffs readily available but pricey.
He's worried about cost. He's already pumped probably 80k into her
This thing is street registered ? NSW would not let this thing in it’s too much of a nanny state awesome but dude

The Holden (GM) front scoop is a bit much though.
Not many game to touch a 5,4

How about LS V8?
these cars look like 4 door US GTO's
