Besides the weather, it's the people and the relaxed lifestyle that makes Australia such a great country to call home. The only thing I've missed over all those decades, and still today, is German food😉😊😊 Cheers, and all the best in your new home.
All well and good when you are at retirement age and own your own home. Anyone younger than 40 feel completely lost here. No amount of beautiful country can make up for having nothing even when I work my ass off and having literally zero future and nothing to look forward to. I'll never own a home. Sad nam dolaze i oni Norvežani, valjda iz one svoje super razvijene države? Zašto bi itko iz takvih država dolazio u Hrvatsku u ovakvom stanju? I moved to Australia from America. Now my Aussie husband & I are desperate to move anywhere else. The politicians are killing this country with their greed & unconcern for those that elected them. Immigration, lack of housing, lazy people who continue to live on taxpayer dime, taxes etc.have ruined it for so many. We know of many who have left or want to, but the moneys not there.
@@sgee_4k not according to the mates we know. All want out, but again can’t afford it due to labor killing the country, but bet your little socialist heart is loving it living on your government payoff
Isa, the USA is a fantastic country but only let down by a poor health system and costly education. Then again Australia is slowly inching towards a similar user-pays scheme and I hope it stops! You’re lucky you can either live here or the USA. Both fabulous places. Admittedly as an Australian, I do find the USA more interesting and fun to visit. Unsure what it’s like to live there but it’s a great place for a holiday. I suggest don’t sell up in Australia. Go elsewhere and see how you find it. If it doesn’t work out, you can always return to Australia.
@@josephj6521 you forgot the shootings in every other day, school shootings and other. Everyone having to carry a gun for safety. Police shooting black people, the miss treatments of poor, amount of people homelessness, drug addict and mentally sick. Australia is never ever close to that.

Plenty of people are leaving Australia to live abroad or returning to their homelands. Can't blame them. Working your arse off just to pay ridiculous rents for dodgy housing, overpriced bills and super expensive food is not a dream life for sure. All the best to you.
I’m concerned what’s happening. I used to see many Brits feel the same way 20 years ago and I felt sorry for them as many wanted to leave. Now it’s happening here and I didn’t think it would!
Thats beautiful, nice that yous looked for adventure afar. Maybe try put your kids in a English speaking school but it could be more expensive unless they understand the Croatian language then send them to local school. 😊
I currently live in brisbane and looking for somewhere like coatia. Somewhere that treats people like adults and doesnt require 150k per year job to have any kind of decent living. Would you reccomend this for a younger person? I am 29 and will be by myself.
I'm probably not in any position to give you advice like that mate. There are a lot of factors to consider here. What I will say though is that they will definitely treat you like an adult here and secondly if there's a way for you to make money remotely then I guess Croatia is somewhere to consider. All the best 😊
Do you know what the public schools are teaching the kids now in Australia its very disturbing. If you want your kid to be confused by its gender or wanting to join young gangs send it to a public school in Australia.
Welcome to Croatia! Did you resolve your immigration status? I had a colleague from U, S and A who came to live in Split with his family. It was not easy for them to get long-term stay papers so his wife was enrolling in college to get a student stay visa and they had an issue with owning a car (license and registration for foreigners) and that all stuff. I hope you don't get into this difficulties.
Thanks. I guess for me it was a relatively easy process as my parents are Croatian citizens so I received my citizenship through them. It took a while but it was really just a formality.
I am a Pensioner and are moving overseas for lower cost of living purposes. Australia has become unaffordable and the living conditions and standards have progressively been ruined by criminal governments that don't have a real clue.
Great video, thanks for sharing. I am curious how did you get Croatia permanent residency visa. Foreigners can stay only up to 3 months and they to leave for another 3 before they are eligible to re-entry.
Hi Eddie. Love the video and my memories of exploring Croatian Islands come flooding back to me Brave decisions let to great rewards for people like yourself I'd love to buy a boat like yours and do something similar but don't know the first thing about sailing but eager to now learn Can I ask what is the size/type of boat you have...im planting the first seeds for a new chapter of my life Regards Ivan- Melbourne
Hello Edi, and welcome to Croatia, seems to me, a home of your ancestors? We share the same last name, I live in Zagreb, but the last name has many members in each Croatian county. Do you know where yours came from?
Thanks for the welcome Mario. 🙏 Yes, definitely home of my ancestors. I was born in Sarajevo in the old country but left very young when the war started. I haven't looked into my ancestry just yet but I know the name is widespread but not as common as other Croatian surnames.
I was born in the old country as well, was 12 when the war started in Croatia. Last name that we share is not in the top 10 in Croatia, but top 25, which is common enough. 😉 Don't know the statistics for Bosnia and Herzegovina, though. If you will look into your ancestry, have a great time! Exploring your roots is nice, but also is bringing diversity into your family! Big hello to your beautiful wife and your playful children! Any plans on visiting Sarajevo?
Congrats guys! Have some questions for you if you don't mind: 1. What is life on a boat like? Pros/Cons? 2. Are you on a holiday visa or are EU citizens? 3. Cost of living for your family living on a boat? 4. Staying less than 6 months and no income tax or staying longer & eventually paying tax? 5. What do you do in winter? Too cold to live the boat? It is a very enticing way to reside in that area :-) Cheers, John
Hi there! Just to clarify we don't actually live on our boat although I understand how it might come across that way...that probably answers some of your questions. We are EU citizens which simplifies things. We've been here for more than 6 months now so local laws apply. Cheers 😊

Dobro došli u Hrvatsku! Jako me zanima kako ćete se snaći. Mi smo emigrirali u Australiju ali ja sam se uvijek htjela vratiti. Hrvatska je raj na zemlji i u srcu Europe. Nadam se da ćete naći dobro poslove ili uspjeti napraviti vlastiti biznis. Ako budete imali pristojna primanja imat ćete jedan on najboljih lifestyles in the World. Sretno!
To njihova smrdljiva vikinška vrsta radi uvijek.
For now, it looks like a holiday. Beautiful. Good luck. All the best, and prosperity. 🌏🦘🐨
Welcome back.
Dobro nam došli u lipu našu
Hvala na dobrodošlici
Amazing future and adventure. Good luck with your family and enjoy every moment of it as life is an adventure. Hello from Sydney
Wellcome....wish you all, a good and fruitfull life in Cr🌞atia...🍀🖖👋
Many many thanks

My partner and I did just this 4 months ago. From our lives in Sydney NSW, we packed all our belongings sold everything we moved to Croatia, my partners homeland, a place we now call HOME. Best decision we have made...... now for me all I need is to learn the language. You are actually living our life. So lovely to hear someone else is just as crazy and lucky to have this dream come true.
This has indeed been an adventure of our lifetime and the best decision of our life as well 😊. Good luck with the language and all the best to you! This lucky/crazy community is increasing by the day it seems.
@@lovricfamilyadventures Yes, I see more and more people do the exact same.
Yes, couldn't agree more its one of the best decisions we've done also. There's so many positives to living here. Thank you, keep living the dream and I will keep following and supporting you and your families journey here in beautiful Croatia.
You guys are so amazing! The main thing you are all together , with your gorgeous kids.
Adventure is always good ! No need to stay only in one country. The whole world is our home . Thank you so much for sharing this video with us. ❤❤❤
Exactly! Thank you for your positivity and great vibes! 😊 🙏
Oh a truly beautiful destination to have relocated to “Dobro došli u Hrvatska 🇭🇷🇭🇷”🥂
Are you Croatian heritage?
Thanks! Yes I have Croatian heritage 😊
@@lovricfamilyadventures Thats great as makes it a lot easier to understand what’s being said around and to speak to .. 👌👌👌 and I’m actually bludi jealous 😁 wish I was able to relocate also, oh well maybe one day since quite alot of relatives there also within Dalmacija also in Hercegovina .. hi from Sydney 🇦🇺 to your wife and adorable youngsters 🤗🤗🤗🤗
The trouble with Europeans , they never step foot out of our cities in Australia and all they do is work . Me and my husband travelled many beautiful national parks in Australia . We also do hiking . I know that Greeks aren’t like that and when they visit Europe they do everything touristy and they love it . . I know Croatia is beautiful but I hope your relatives are nice to you . I visited Cyprus , my parents country in 1992 and the relatives generally were horrible and we weren’t welcomed there because we weren’t born in Cyprus . I will never move there and I will continue my adventures in Australia . The younger generation of Australian born Greeks need to be open minded and not see things greener over the other side . Best of luck with your new life in Croatia . A great travel documentary and thank you .
so sad
Dobro nam došli, ja sam se vratio u Zadar prije dvi godine is USA i obožavam biti u Ljepoj Našoj. Nadam se vašem uspjehu u Hrvatskoj u svakom pogledu.
Good on you mate
I’m moving out from Brisbane soon, after living here for almost 24 years finally I realised there in no future here,
Honestly you have motivated me for sure
Next year I’m coming to Croatia and will go from there
Cheers and best of luck
Cheers mate, I'm glad the video contributed to your decision in a positive way. Let us know if you end up making the move. All the best 😊
I was born in Oz and never felt at home here.
Same here
You always lack of everything especially the feelings like home
Hopefully I will get out soon had absolutely enough and as I always tell others
There is no future here for sure

It’s funny but I’m Indian origin and all my best friends are Balkans

Well done and wishing you the very best, we are stuck here in Australia and rotting away in the day to day Sydney grind, I hate it so much I need to get out, it's killing me like a cancer
Thank you very much. Don't let that happen mate, make a change 😊
We have been talking about it, so it's a start @@lovricfamilyadventures

That’s fantastic, I’ve just left Australia too, after 35 years, I live Australia dearly but it’s just getting out of reach for many, too expensive.
I’m calling Malaga Spain home for now🙏🏻

I moved to Australia from America. Now my Aussie husband & I are desperate to move anywhere else. The politicians are killing this country with their greed & unconcern for those that elected them. Immigration, lack of housing, lazy people who continue to live on taxpayer dime, taxes etc.have ruined it for so many. We know of many who have left or want to, but the moneys not there.
Still 100 times better than America 😂
Leave don’t let the door hit your but. We don’t want you any way
@@sgee_4k not according to the mates we know.
Guys you very welcomed to our beautiful country! If you ever need any help please let me know it would be a pleasure to give you a helping hand we are also from Australia and living in Rijeka. Croatia is just beautiful and safe. Wishing you and your family all the best. Enjoy 🥰

It’s more a story about moving from a city to a lifestyle on a boat and you can also do that in Australia
Sure. It is. Cheers😊

Welcome to Croatia, hope you stay and feel good in our country
Welcome to Croatia! Hope you will enjoy your life here!!
I was wondering why did you choose Croatia? You have family here or?
Yes I have family in Zagreb and other smaller towns. We chose Croatia for many reasons though....safety, freedom for kids, community and the sea of course 😊
God bless you 🙏 ❤️ Australia 🇦🇺 ✝️
Thank You for sharing your beautiful adventure together with your family. It’s inspiring and thrilling you taken a big step to see different things and beautiful beginnings and that’s perfect 👍. We are here and with you guys. Hugs from our family to yours ✨🇦🇺. We understand.
Plenty of people are leaving Australia to live abroad or returning to their homelands. Can't blame them. Working your arse off just to pay ridiculous rents for dodgy housing, overpriced bills and super expensive food is not a dream life for sure. All the best to you.
Spot on
I’m concerned what’s happening.
You don’t need 150k to have a decent living here, you must be a high Spender. What do you mean not treated like an adult.?
Australia safe and very peaceful and perfect for growing children and families
Croatia has winter and snow ⛄️
Australia is sickest country of them all maybe... all this nonsense with the flu was way out of hand. Terrible country. A shame.
Do you know what the public schools are teaching the kids now in Australia its very disturbing. If you want your kid to be confused by its gender or wanting to join young gangs send it to a public school in Australia.
Croatia is far safer than Australia. It is as safe as Finland.
Do a video on price of bread milk house rent etc
Maybe one day!
I am a Croatian citizen. Thanks for watching 😊
What a stunning part of the world
Hi Eddie.
Love the video and my memories of exploring Croatian Islands come flooding back to me
Brave decisions let to great rewards for people like yourself
I'd love to buy a boat like yours and do something similar but don't know the first thing about sailing but eager to now learn
Can I ask what is the size/type of boat you have...im planting the first seeds for a new chapter of my life

Welcome in Croatia !!
Thanks
Expat here in Austria, Croatia nice for a holiday but I wouldn't choose to live there..
Good on ya mate 👏
Thanks 👍
Hello Edi, and welcome to Croatia, seems to me, a home of your ancestors? We share the same last name, I live in Zagreb, but the last name has many members in each Croatian county. Do you know where yours came from?
Thanks for the welcome Mario. 🙏
Yes, definitely home of my ancestors.
@@avarielhr Cheers. We don't really have any plans to go to Sarajevo yet but will definitely visit some time next year.

Croatia is not just the coast you need to explore it lots of things to see if you go to the Continent
It's something that's definitely on our to do list 😊
Congrats guys! Have some questions for you if you don't mind:
It is a very enticing way to reside in that area :-)
Cheers, John
Hi there! Just to clarify we don't actually live on our boat although I understand how it might come across that way...that probably answers some of your questions. We are EU citizens which simplifies things. We've been here for more than 6 months now so local laws apply. Cheers 😊
As screwed up Australia is at the moment I think living under UN rule wouldn't be for me
