I do NOT dance and yet he does a fine job of it…..ohhhhh Colbourne you are your own worst enemy
With Colbourne I don't miss Sidney; well done Casting Team.
@ Pam , Exactly I feel the same way. I have watched season l several times and Theo James tho handsome has nothing on Mr Colbourne. The love chemistry between he and Charlotte is so so beautiful ♥️.
Oh hell no
Yo lo extrañaré siempre. Se sacrificó por el estúpido de su hno mayor.
@@tonnieborner6521 Charlotte and Alexander are so natural together. Charlotte always looked thrown off or confused by Sidney. I hated that about them.
No kidding! I cannot even watch season 1. Because Sydney is so lacking compared to Colbourne and Ben Lloyd-Hughes acting just makes it all. Superb!
A man cannot cross the same tiver twice, unless its not the same man.. Xander ❤❤❤❤
I agree Charlotte hopefully is with Alexander in the end.. Perfect pair. Sidney made his choice, he is finished in my book. Whoever picked all these people for their parts bravo 👏. I can't wait for season 3!.
They ruined the story. He's not an Austen character. He's just creepy and gross 🤢
How old are you, 10? Creepy, gross; how childish.
Man love alexander
Excellent!
Perfect casting of Ben. Good job
He's a middling actor and there is no chemistry with Charlotte
Yeah yeah we know you like Theo. Goodbye.
I hate to see it end. I so enjoyed it. Let's hope the new one's they produce will be as wonderful as this one. Jane Austin is smiling down from heaven. Happy her last story is now complete. Well done all of you the writers to. I loved it all and.❤❤❤❤❤
Season 2 and 3 have nothing to with Austen. The writers ruined it.
Wet blanket
I am all over the movie channels trying to find something that compares to Sanditon, nothing to be found. Please release season 3 before 2023. Favorite series EVER!
Could we have a returning of Sanditon?
Why? They completely ruined it in S2 and 3
@@DeeHugheswhat a sad, empty life you must have.
As luck, or the fickle finger of fate, would have it-Theo James's decision to not return was the best thing that could possibly have happened to Sanditon. Theo's character, Sidney Parker, did not deserve to have Jane Austen's heroine. Why? There are several obvious reasons that even viewers who had liked Sidney at first-including myself, and who were not completely blinded by his looks-could see. Here's the list of reasons:
(1) One of Charlotte Heywood's most notable characteristics is that she has a tremendous amount of self-respect. So, what is one of the first things that Sidney attempts to do? He repeatedly attempts to lower Charlotte's self-respect. One of the most notable examples of when Sidney does that is on the beach when he deliberately walks out of the water knowing that he is naked and that Charlotte is looking out over the water. That would certainly have humiliated any 19th century woman (and any self-respecting woman today). It's unlikely that anyone believes that Sidney was a moron and, therefore, didn't know that.
(2) In the first several chance encounters with Charlotte after that, Sidney implied that he was so irresistibly desirable that Charlotte could not control her desire to be in his presence. Sidney clearly had ego issues, and Charlotte was his naive, unsuspecting victim in S1.
(3) Do you recall all of the scenes where Sidney verbally attempted to lower Charlotte's self-esteem? After he does that to Charlotte a couple of times, she realizes what he is doing and refuses to allow him to continue doing that to her. Finally, this very intelligent, kindhearted young woman tells Sidney that she is not going to respond to his leash jerking anymore.
(4) Ultimately, by the end of S1, Charlotte's love for and trust in Sidney led to, as she said, "heartache and betrayal."
Who would have guessed that S2 would begin as it did or that the scriptwriters and casting crew would have been forced to take an entirely different and unfamiliar path-which, most viewers now realize, has led to a far more Austenesque, interesting, and rewarding destination for the author's heroine? The biggest and most exciting surprise in S2 was that Charlotte's romance with Sidney and his betrayal in order to marry the wealthy Eliza Campion (who had done the same thing to him a few years earlier) better prepared Charlotte for the handsome, slightly older, more experienced, and highly ethical Alexander Colbourne who would be attracted to and fall in love with her. Sidney Parker was no match for Alexander Colbourne.
Alexander is quite unattractive though....
Great comment. Can't agree more.
Well said!!
I don't think Colbourne was ready for Charlotte. Nor even for a relationship at all. I think Sidney was too hurt to be gentle (though this is not an excuse to be rude), but Charlotte's honesty and self-love made him comfortable enough to open his heart again. I find it interesting. And even though they wouldn't end up together anyway, it makes the series even more interesting to me, because I believe Austen would have made the novel different from the others she wrote. I hope to see an original ending with season 3.
@@milena5182 Really? Because Colbourne believed that what he said to Lucy when he discovered her infidelity destroyed her will to live, he suffered with the pain of guilt for 9 long years. And you don't think that he was ready for a clear-headed woman like Charlotte to come into his life and tell him, "You bear no blame." For all those years, Colbourne blamed himself for Lucy's death and for Leo not having a mother, and Charlotte freed him from that misplaced guilt so that he could find peace and the happiness he never had in what was clearly a bad marriage.
Colbourne told Charlotte, "Lucy and I married young." Colbourne doesn't know the answer to Colonel Lennox's question, "Can you trust yourself not to fail Charlotte as you failed Lucy?" Understandably, he is afraid of making the same mistake that he made when he was young. Because they were mismatched, Colbourne was never able to love Lucy. That is how he failed Lucy! Now, Colbourne doesn't know if he accepts Charlotte for who she is as a person. He has to do that in order to truly love her. Charlotte helped him to accept Leo and Augusta for who they are as people, not for who he wanted them to be. When he was able to do that, then he was able to love them.
The scriptwriters are staying fairly close to the Jane Austen tradition. Alexander Colbourne is indeed worthy of Austen's heroine, but he will have to complete his journey in order to know that he does truly love Charlotte.
Loved characters Charlotte and Alexander. Hoping for a marriage proposal in season 3.
I'm hoping for a proposal and a wedding ceremony! 😍 AND a 'Three years later' follow up, showing the Colbournes with their children, Leonora and her 2 baby siblings, and a now engaged Augusta with her betrothed! ❤
@@mysticalmargaret6105 we wish 😆 🤣 😂
@@mysticalmargaret6105 love this thought!
Charlotte and Colbourne the best!😍😍😍❣️🥰

Ont tournent pas la page
Regarder de jane austen
Persuation la fin e géniale
Roméo e Juliette préfèrent mourir que d'être séparer
Donc le scénario à revoir
Nulle
Oh that's lovely! Thank you!
I hope Charlotte and Alexander get together in season 3 . They have Connection they both love someone and lost someone.
beautiful video 🥰
It is quite obvious that Charlotte Heywood deserves to have the better man-and Mr. Alexander Colbourne checks ALL of the boxes. Like Eliza Campion, Sidney betrayed the person who he said he loved and who loved him, and married first for money-so, clearly, Sidney and Eliza deserved each other. Sidney did not deserve to have Austen's heroine. I definitely enjoyed S1, but I was also pleasantly surprised by the turn of events in S2. Mrs. Wheatley was undoubtedly right. Mr. Colbourne is indeed quite a complex and compassionate man whose sense of integrity has consistently demonstrated that he does deserve to have Charlotte Heywood.
Like Charlotte Heywood, Alexander Colbourne is a compelling character. Obviously, Colbourne has not been pining for his dead wife who married him for his money, and then continued her love affair with Lennox after she married Colbourne. Marrying solely for financial security had been the norm, even during the time in which Jane Austen lived. Apparently, Lucy and Lennox were genuinely in love with each other-but, unlike Colbourne, Lennox was not a wealthy man. So, she chose to marry Alexander Colbourne-which explains why Lennox told Charlotte that Colbourne stole Lucy from him. Nevertheless, Colbourne does deeply regret having spoken so harshly to Lucy when he discovered her infidelity and that she was pregnant with Lennox's child. He believes that what he said to Lucy was so damaging that it destroyed her will to live. So, he feels responsible for her death and for Leo not having a mother. Colbourne's compassionate heart and strong conscience have not allowed him to forgive himself-even after all these years.
In S2 we see how compassionately Colbourne treats his horse and his dog, and how he tries to shield his daughter and his niece-and now Charlotte-from himself. Colbourne is apparently afraid of ever destroying anyone again, so he puts up barriers between himself and anyone that he loves. Charlotte helped Colbourne to begin tearing down those barriers that separate him from the people that he loves. But now Charlotte is one of those people-so we see Colbourne as he struggles with his internal conflict between his desire to have Charlotte and his desire to protect her from himself. Interestingly, it is not until Colonel Lennox tells Colbourne that Charlotte is in love with him that he realizes that she is indeed in love with him, and therefore she needs to be protected from him. Because Charlotte is so unique-she is neither meek nor submissive-Colbourne hadn't noticed the outward signs of her feelings about him.
During the time that Jane Austen wrote, men who did not intend to marry often wore a signet ring (engraved with their initials) on the pinky of their left hand-just as Alexander Colbourne does. Colbourne often twists the signet ring that he wears on his left hand and appears to be thinking. My guess is that is yet another reason why he chose to dismiss Charlotte. Colbourne knows that he is in love with Charlotte, and it is obvious that he desires her. The way he kisses her makes that quite clear. After Colonel Lennox told Colbourne that Charlotte is in love with him, Colbourne realized that, as her employer she might submit to his desires because he is in a position of authority over her. Now that he knows how he feels about her and how she feels about him, allowing Charlotte to remain his subordinate would have been highly unethical. Since Colbourne-unlike Lennox-is a man of integrity, he could not bring himself to allow her to continue to be his subordinate, and therefore subject to his will. That's why he forces Charlotte to leave, even after she acknowledges that she was a willing participant during their romantic moments.
Since Alexander Colbourne is a man of integrity, he knew he had to let Charlotte go-even though he obviously wants her. Colbourne went to the Parkers' home to ask her to return because Augusta begged him to do so, not because he believed that was the right thing to do. (Colbourne told Augusta that she doesn't understand-which, of course, is true. Augusta doesn't know that her uncle is in love with Charlotte and that Charlotte is in love with him.) Colbourne did not object to what Charlotte said because he knew that she made the right decision, even though she made that decision because she believes that she means nothing to him. Of course, that is not true. This is a man who clearly is deeply in love with Charlotte.
When Colbourne goes to see Charlotte with the intention of asking her to return, Charlotte also makes the right decision. Sadly, at the end of Season 2, we were left with two people who are deeply in love with each other-and absolutely miserable because of the choice they had to make.
Wow that was an excellent synopsis and succinct explanation of why both Alexander and Charlotte have reacted the way that they did.
I agree Alexander had to let her go as the governess due to the class differences between them but maybe he could have explained it better to her. Now Charlotte is hurt and accepting Ralph’s proposal is the wrong decision. Alexander will need to hightail it back to Sanditon and make things right with Charlotte in Season 3!
You covered that very efficently. Thank you!!
Well put ❤❤❤
I agree with most of what you said. I’m just not sure whether I trust Colonel Lennox’s account of ‘he stole Lucy from me’. Colbourne’s account (couch scene) is that after he left London, she met Lennox and had a child with him. He then abandoned her when he found out. Not sure if this was love!
It seemed to me that Lennox just wanted to defame and taunt Colbourne, the first to win Charlotte, the second because he loves to boast of his conquests.
Love them !!!! :
Se cargaron la serie sin estos protagonistas
Can’t get enough of #Heybourne 💖
He's gross
Sorry, I still miss Sidney. Yeah yeah get over it. Got that. But still…nice video
@TheBrooklynWay2why not?!
Sidney betrayed her for money... Xander pined for her almost from day one and was loyal and true❤
💞💞💞
they kill sidney??😔 i dont see yet season 2
The actor playing Sidney didn’t want to do Sanditon anymore. Theo James decided to move on.
Would have loved for them to call each other by their first names at the end
❤
Love it 😍
Where is 'Young Stringer"?
The actor chose not to come back, so in the story, he went on to his architecture school in London.
🥰🥰🥰🥰
I see myself in this movie 😔😔😔😔 poor girl 🖤😔😔😔
Come vederlo tutto come un film?
In the USA you can watch the series on PBS Masterpiece, Amazon Prime, maybe Itune? Not sure what country your in and how u can watch it. It's 3 seasons:)
Charlotte and Alexander belong together.
No. Austen intended Sidney and Charlotte to be together.
The first time I saw Alexander on the screen, I knew what I wanted for Christmas. Just sayin’… 💕
No esta doblada al castellano??
I think that Sidney did her a huge favor by rejecting her. She dodged a bullet. In the real world Men like him often resort to emotional abuse once the woman is committed in marriage. Especially in that society, at that time in the past, women had no choice, they were trapped within the confines of matrimony.
I miss Sidney and Charlotte. 💔💔While Alex and Charlotte are OK, they just can't compete with Sidlotte. Sidney and Charlotte have awesome chemistry!
Lord, NO... Sydney left her for money and NEVER looked at her the way Xander's gaze and glance follows her all over❤❤❤❤
Dear Theo, I hope you and family are well. Please do come back and finish the beautiful story you have started in Season 1 with a happy ending with dear Charlotte. Thank you very much. Best wishes, M E
I only wish to find out in S3 a lost letter that Sidney wrote to Charlotte about his feelings and doubts, just C. to know that it was not a betrayal. Definitely, in these circumstances Sidney did only one possible choice inspired by Charlotte by the way. It was she who opened his heart, showed him that he is much better than egoistic dandy he pretended to be. He sacrificed his happiness (and life) for the sake of Tom, Marry and their 4 children. He was glad to see that C. insisted on his obligations as for him it was a deal. Sidney did his best but first love almost always is not a happy end but necessary step to more deep and matured feelings.
Theo abandoned her for money... Xander pined for her almost from the first moment he saw her... His gaze melts my heart..
what show is this?
Sanditon. Season 2
Why did they have to kill Sidney. Everyone was waiting for them to be together in season 2 after that ending in season 1.
Theo James didn’t want to go on. Plus he had other projects going already
Hearing Sydney died made my mouth drop. So sad. Don’t know what I was expecting and I know Theo James was not coming back not even for a small guest appearance but damn 😥. Hoping I’m liking the new male lead but he’s just not as … handsome to me. Sure his charisma will wow us all.
Haven't you ever loved someone that at first was not really attractive but after you got to know them you thought they were the most beautiful person in the world? That's Alexander Colbourne:) Watch S2, it is so worth it:)
@@misstweet9478 AC is sooo handsome, and his good character qualities that slowly come out MAKE him even moorrreee handsome! So he's just the MOST handsome thing! You're right, Shows that when you are a good, kind, compassionate person, it MAKES you handsome/pretty, period!! 😉 😊
He is SOO handsome!! 😊
Handsome by leaps and bounds over Theo!
I miss Sidney. Lived his smoldering good looks
Neither one of them can come close to Sidney.
Neither one who? And how so?
Chubby cheeked Colbourne. Give me back Theo James.
Nooo...Colbourne is soooooooo handsome!! 😉😊
Chubby? Lol he's one of the strongest yet slender looking men on the show 😉..his face is quite chiseled/structured most times, mature.amd handsome...and if not , he looks so young and cute 😊
For me, when I hear or think about Sanditon, it’s always been Charlotte Heywood and Sidney Parker. The image of them cannot be replicated and yes they are the hero and heroine for me in this Jane Austen’s novel.
Then you haven't really watched the longing gazes of Xander... MELTS my ♥
Dans la troisième saison j espère que Sydney reviendra très belle série ❤❤
I still prefer Sydney/Charlotte 🤷🏿♂️
Colbourne is too much... cherubinesque for my taste.
I do prefer Sydney, the typical tortured hero.
Really? The typical tortured hero, like Sidney Parker, who then proceeds to torture the first kindhearted woman who shows him genuine love?
I definitely prefer cherubin to torture, thank you very much.
С Сидни не сравнить , даже смотреть дальше не охота , получше что ли не смогли найти ?!
Seriously, everyone is entitled to their opinion. I love Alexander for Charlotte perfect on screen chemistry .
Ну так не смотрите
Невероятно непривлекательный мужчина. На алкаша похож🤦🤦🤦
Charlotte Couldn't find better than Colbourne you mean? And she should've looked further? Colbourne can compare with Sidney 😊
Charlotte ending up with this turnip is like Elizabeth settling for Mr. Collins 🤢
Who and What do you mean by turnip, his 'looks' or personality/character?
Charlotte and Alexander don't have chemistry! This love history isn't very enthusiastic! Please! Please Theo James come back to seson 3! Sanditon need more emotion!
I disagree with you loved Alexander for Charlotte, excellent pair and perfect on screen chemistry.
Mas o Theo James que não quis mais participar da série deviam ter contatado o Ryan Cooper
Could not disagree more. Sidney was mean and miraculously fake in love. Nope.
@@beckychapman6631 he did seem mean but many find that coldness romantic for some odd reason
100% agree. There is nothing when they are together. We need a character introduced or bring back Stringer!
