So happy to finally see a video on Bradenton that is not from a real estate agent. Best of all it s from you two. Can t wait to see what you have planned for your next videos. Excellent video
We're so glad you enjoyed it, Agostino. It was well overdue, and we're glad we finally got around to making it! Thanks so much for commenting and supporting our channel!
Thank you for sharing this wonderful tour of Brandenton. The walk through the nature preserve made me feel like I was on vacation. The weather here on Long Island hasn't been ideal lately, so seeing blue Florida skies and sunshine was a welcome sight!
We're so happy that we could provide you with a little getaway from the cold Long Island weather! Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment!
Thanks so much! Choosing the music is actually my (Skylar) favorite part of editing, and I put quite a bit of time into it. Not many people comment on that, so I really appreciate it!
I lived in Bradenton eight years before moving to St. Pete a few weeks ago. :-) The original loop at Robinson is good to do by bike. There is a little spur trail in the northwest area (foot only) that that takes you though the woods on a single track. I'd add Kefi Streetside Cafe, Sage Biscuit, Grandma Wan's Thai Mix (food truck), the fish markets in Cortez (Star Fish Co and Cortez Bait and Seafood), Uncle Nick's, Cremesh, Motorworks, DeSoto National Monument. Thanks for the great videos!
Thanks for sharing this info, Tara. We cannot wait to get back out to the preserve on our bikes! We totally underestimated how big it is! Several of the places you mentioned (Starfish, DeSoto Monument, Motorworks) were on our list of potential places to visit, but we just never have the time to get to them all! Next time we're in town will have to check out a couple of the other spots you mentioned. Thanks so much for sharing!
That trail is so awesome along with the tower! Not sure what bridge that was WAAAY in the distance but was so cool to see. And oh yea, those trails look like a BLAST on a bicycle 😁
It was a fun trail and the view from the tower was amazing (minus the wasps). And like Kathryn said, it was the Sunshine Skyway Bridge that you could see a few miles off in the distance. It's a massive bridge!
Talk about a timely video. I’ve spent the last 2 days looking at Bradenton videos for a stop on the way back from Longboat next month. You have by far the best one. Especially your coverage of Robinson preserve. I would stop just for that seafood salad. We may need to book a hotel to get all that walking in.
Thanks, Bob. This video was long overdue. Since it's so close to us it's been our "back-up plan video" for probably a year now, but we finally got around to making it. In a way we're glad it took us this long because the video is better now than if we would have made it a year ago! Robinson Preserve is huge... and we barely scratched the surface. We would love to go back and spend a full day there (with our e-bikes).
Thanks so much! We try to improve with each video and hope to continue to do so in the future. Our videos have definitely come a long ways, but we know there still plenty of room for improvement! Thanks so much for watching... and sorry about sharing your secret 😄
Thanks for the great tips! We are moving to Bradenton in a few months and look forward to checking out your recommendations. Your calm thorough guides make us feel less nervous about leaving the Midwest and make us feel like we will be able to find our way around. Keep up the great work!
We're so glad that our channel is helping to ease some of the stress of moving cross country. We understand how exciting and never racking it can be at the same time!
I love how thorough your videos are and HONEST! Also makes me realize that I am missing so many fun opportunities across this great state. So much easier to plan a day trip with your videos! Thank you!!!
Thank you so much, Rachel. We've been doing these videos for a few years now and still haven't come close to running out of things to explore around here, and we hope our videos help you to make the most of your time exploring the area!
We're so glad you enjoyed this one! And yes, the Robinson Preserve really is beautiful, and both sides are so different from each other. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for this video. I am looking to move to the Sarasota/Manatee County area, and was writing Bradenton off my list...I think now I should reconsider!
Nice video! That Seafood Cobb salad looked delicious. I really liked that Robinson Preserve as well. If I’m down that way, I need to stop there. Yeah, Bradenton is a cool city as well. There’s a pizza place there that I like called Casa Di. And of course. Anna Maria
It really was the best salad ever. I wouldn't even know how to make it any better... other than making it even bigger! Yes, you should definitely check out the Robinson Preserve next time you make it to Bradenton. And we'll have to check out that pizza spot!
@@Explorcation Casa Di is a Buffalo pizza and food place. I am from Florida, but my family is from Western NY State. Bradenton has a lot to offer as well like St. Pete and Sarasota. Yeah…lol, that salad looked amazing. That shrimp looked very tasty, then to add lobster….lol…oh boy. Look forward to the next video
@@Victory1981 I don't think we've had Buffalo pizza before. I just googled Casa Di in Bradenton, the pizza looks delicious! Thanks so much for watching :)
Been looking for some more info on the Bradenton area...great video! My back and sciatica have been acting up lately too...I try to get in at least a mile a day with the pups and it's been tough to do recently. Breaking it down to shorter distances...glad to hear that you're improving!
Thanks so much, Gene. It was a long overdue video, but we're glad we finally got around to making it! We're sorry to hear that you're sciatica has been acting up. Jamie is still a ways from being 100% too, but just being able to get out and walk again has been so nice!
Another fantastic video! We never thought to explore Bradenton....we always just thought of it as a way to get onto AMI! Would now love to explore this area more the next time we travel south. Hope you're feeling better Jamie and thanks for the informative and fun video! Looking forward to the next one already! 🙂
Honestly we kind of thought of it in the same way for a while, until we started visiting friends up in the area who introduced us to some of the best places. We hope you do get a chance to explore it a bit one of these days! Thanks for the well wishes. Jamie's able to get around a little bit better every week!
Love the Riverwalk there! If you walk it to the West where it ends at the Marina there is a pretty good ice cream shop there. We have walked that Riverwalk several times with family in town, etc. Another great vlog you two! Stay safe out there!
We saw that ice-cream shop and did consider stopping in, but we were way too stuffed from our dinner! Next time we're in the area we'll give it a try. Have a great rest of the week, guys.
Bradenton was never on our to do list, but it is now. Very nice video. Will try the nature preserve, downtown river walk, and Saturday farm market. Since we maintain a strict plant based diet, we seldom eat out. It is nice to know about plant based dining options.
We're so glad to hear that our video has convinced you to consider a visit to Bradenton, Lewis. More and more viewers have asked us to share plant based foods on our channel, and we've actually really been enjoying trying some of them!
Love a bee, hate a wasp...spawn of the devil 😂, you spent more time with them then I would have. 😮. I very nearly picked Bradenton as our stop off before St Pete in May, but opted for Sarasota....next time, Bradenton looks like a good choice 😊. Great video thanks as always.
Agree 100% Wasps are pretty much my least favorite thing. You did not make the wrong choice with Sarasota, but Bradenton is definitely worth checking out too!
I love your videos, you have given me so many ideas for our Florida holidays!! 💕In fact next year we are coming for the 4th time to the Tampa bay area. In your videos I am always amazed at how much the food costs, but especially how normal it is for you to have such high prices...Here in Italy if you have a lunch for 3 people you spend 50 €, in Florida you spend at least 100 €.... I was wondering if you could make a video for poor tourists 😅, where you go looking for good quality but cheap places. That would be very helpful!😁
Thank you so much for the kind comment! That's exciting to hear you'll be visiting the area again next year! Yes, the price of eating out here in St. Pete is pretty crazy. We did actually make a "Cheap Eats" in St. Pete video a couple of years back as well as a best St Pete happy hour deals video. Not very many people watched them unfortunately,... but perhaps we will try it again sometime. We do really enjoy trying to find good deals on food and drink in the area, although they are getting harder and harder to come by.
Hey guys! I hope you had a good week. Great video! 👏🏻We had a great time as well in the Robison preserve. I have to say the seafood salad and the Tuna steak they looked amazing. Bradenton/Sarasota area lovely but the traffic around them is always terrible…We like to go to Coquina beach (Bradenton area) but it takes sooo long to get in and out of there. Thanks for the video! 😀
Yeah, the Bradenton traffic (although slightly better than Sarasota) is pretty rough. You definitely have to chose your driving times wisely! We would highly recommend both that seafood salad and the Tuna. We hope you have a great week too!
your right those are some beautiful views. did you see any crocodiles when you were up on the tower? Did you see any wild animals on the nature preserves?
There are no crocodiles. Alligators mostly live in fresh water, not salt water. They are near ponds, rivers, lakes. Also, the only wild animals on Robinson Preserve would be rabbits & snakes, not much else.
No crocodiles. There can be alligators in the preserve, but not common from what we understand. We did not see any during our visit. As far as animals in the park, we did see lots of birds and some sort of rodent scurry across the trail, but that was it!
Healing Back Pain by Dr John Sarno changed my life. Pain is not 100% gone, but activities of daily living can be done now. Just an FYI. Great vid too. But I feel your pain. Been dealing with sciatica for 20 years.
Thank you so much for the recommendation, Mike! Thankfully Jamie seems to be on a steady (although slow) path to recovery, but we'll definitely be looking into this book!
Jamie have you tried massage therapy? I'm a massage therapist and my now husband had struggled with sciatica for years and with massage we were able to clear it up in a matter of month. He's only had one flair up in the last 6 years.
I've gone to some different chiropractors who've incorporated some different types of massage, but I've yet to go to an actual massage therapist, although it's something I've definitely considered. That's really encouraging to hear about your husband's experience with massage therapy. Thank you so much for sharing!
you don't have to be afraid of bee's that are attracted to specific man made structures. I used to climb 200-300 foot towers for the FAA for maintenance work. At about 150 feet we would have to climb through about 20 feet of solid bees clinging to the ladder. Than after about 1 1/2 hours go back down through the same group of bees (now flying around that area) and never once got stung. 2 things to remember about wild life encounters. They use their senses way more than most humans do so they are good at sensing fear or aggression from a potential threat.....that goes especially for sharks too. The second is do not kill any of the bees on your way up by stepping on them or smashing them with your hand. They can smell their dead colony member and then they will smell that on the one that did the killing. So don't be aggressive toward them or they will swarm on you. I remember many times just nudging bees of the ladder or to one side so I could pass. Seems they remember the kindness and allow you to pass on your way back down. Now I was bumped many times on the way down because they were swarming, but I was never stung. Don't pose a threat and you will be fine.
Wow thanks for sharing your story, Rodney. I always thought it would be so cool (but also a bit scary) to be a tower climber... but having to climb through a swarm of bees each way would surely had another element of fear to the mix! It's quite impressive that you never got stung, and it really does go to show how important your demeanor is.
