Crank the level, crank the tone, drop the distortion knob down to almost zero, turbo on with the gain from your head at about 10 or 11 o'clock along with an overdrive or a TS9 ? You got yourself a nice powerful clean crunch my friend.
I use this. Pretty darn close. I can get a good Randy tone. The Motörhead tone in the demo is dead on. These pedals are a PITA too find. But not expensive. RIP Randy and Fast Eddie Clarke. ua-cam.com/video/1_hjTLg3K5c/v-deo.html
The moment I plugged this thing in, It felt like the ds1 but on ten doses of steroids... it's absolutely amazing and so versatile, can play a light crunch tone for blues and can chug some modern metal too
This for sure the best way to get killer tones drones this pedal, I will even boost it slightly with a ts9 or maxon od808 and it sounds phenomenal. There are so many killer tones you can get from these pedals
great demo! but i personally wouldn't use pedals if I had a mesa boogie lying around like that. haha! still this also sounds good! I prefer using pedals with a clean marshall amp. It does seem to sound chunkier going into the mesa boogie.
В левом положении это DS1. А в правом как-раз DS2. Единственная педалька имитирующая предыдущую. Кстати, рекомендуется как бустер для MT2. (Metal zone).
Metalchug I love my ds2 for distortion but I don’t play metal. Here’s a good video m.ua-cam.com/video/G7jGJJUhDDU/v-deo.html Also check “that pedal show” on UA-cam. They do a great job analyzing pedals. Idk if they’ve ever done one on metal pedals tho. Good luck!
@@metalchug426 Don't know if you got either of these yet. If not I have to tell you. But both are awesome pedals in their own way. ML-2 Metal Core does nicely for a wide range of heavier music. Does extremely well for things like Queensryche, the Power Stack ST-2 is kind of like an amp itself with a bit of a Marshall tone. I like taking the ST-2 and bringing the drive down to about 2 or 3 and then pushing another pedal with it. But still to me all BOSS pedals have their own sound you will here in different bands. But the Metal Core direct inthe front of amp, and the Metal Zone MT-2 in effect loops are my personal favorites. Then set them a bit lower in the distortion levels and push them when needed with the SUper Overdrive SD-1.
yes, but set it to mode 1. kurt never used mode 2, but i'd get the DS2 if you also like RHCP cuz frusciante uses the turbo mode on the DS2- so it'll do Nirvana and RHCP whereas DS1 only does Nirvana
Sarebbe bello sentirlo provato da uno che sa suonare con un minimo di skill e tocco cosa che qui siamo molto lontani in generale il pedale mi piace io ho il ds 1
Bravo!
This is exactly what I want in a video when I want to know what a pedal & it's different settings sound like.

crunch is great but a clean crunch sounds and feels weak and bad
Clean crunch sounds like fret buzz
I never realized what an amazing Randy Rhoads-esque tone this pedal does on the turbo II setting. I'm getting one
Randy used an MXR Dist+

This sounds great. Love the honk in the II setting. It really cuts.
2:17 Awesome sound =)
The ultimate distortion pedal and my personal favorite. In fact, dare I say,it's better than the DS1. But that's just my opinion.

Cool demo. I had one could never find my tone. I luv my DS1 and my MD2

Has that 70s Judas Priest sound! Can't wait for mine to come in the mail this week!
The turbo 2 setting sounds like a proper chuggy heavy rock tone
I love this pedal sound. It's like hardrock band sound like scorpions, judas priest in 70's. Just my opinion
definitely the best distortion pedal ever! even better then the ds-1!
Definitely has that “Painkiller” tone
when you switched to the second mode the overall tone reminded me Trampled Under Foot by Led Zeppelin
Boss DS-2 com um Mesa/Boogie é praticamente a rig do Prince rs
Great review! Hope to own this pedal soon
Thank you so much for an awesome review. I will now be buying one of these!
What is bedroom tone??? Amps by nature are loud that's where Mr dynamic lives bang this on 💥
The 80s glam/hair metal sound summed up in one pedal
Nice demo, thanks
I only like this pedal when I am stacking it with the BOSS DS-1
Madman

Good boogie blues ,you play in the start of the video.
Very good video, I need such a thing.

Sounds good
I’ve a pedal board with 200 euro pedals by each. But this jar seems to sound good.
Wow sounds amazing, btw what is the name of the song in the beginning???

Amazing demo
I think that when your amp has "Boogie" written on it, you don't need this stuff.
Some people like pedals
Crazy train
is this close enough for nirvana
Metalchug Kurt used a ds2 in the later years. And before that he used a ds1 so yes
Im searching for a distortion maybe power stack or metalcore. Can u suggest?

Satchel overdrive pedal
you forgot to show it at a low dist lvl :(
Something like muffle freq from this pedal..
Whats the remotte for?
Switching between I and II modes
changing channels
Ese pedal solo suena chido si tienes un ampli de bulbos eso nadie lo sabe y es muy importante de saber
The ds2 sounds like a flubby mess
I thought mine sounded like a turd cuz it's broken... Nope, just sounds like a turd
