The E60 I believe is so slept on for drifting. Its an excellent car with very strong drivetrain, there is wisefab for it, it has long wheelbase which means it's super smooth. The only somewhat negative thing is the weight, but you can always gut everything and bring down the weight significantly. I personally had 2 E60's, one was a 3.0d 218hp that I drifted in the mountains as a daily/beater car and I gotta say it was excellent in those condition. Another thing with the E60 is the stock ackerman setting which is way too much if you want to drift it in the dry or wet, the whole front end starts to rub against the asphalt when you get to more angle - needs ackerman reduction which can be done by getting a proper angle kit for it like Wisefab.
i wish i liked the look of BMWs more. i respect them but theyre just not for me. theres so many capable chassiss out there that they make. i just think its cool theres more options then the usual!
@@HaugenRacing They grow on you. People hated the design back in the day when they first came out but now most people would say the car looks stylish. I'm the same. Looks are subjective anyways, but the chassis itself as a base for a drift car is super sound imo. The aftermarket support is there. btw the better option for an engine would be the N54 535i with a manual - I have one of those using currently as a daily but been thinking about building it as a drift car.
For me the e60 is just too big, but the e39…❤ imo the e39 is the German version of the Toyota jzx😂. And yeah e60s grow on you, a friend of mine bought one and I didn’t like it at all but now with some mods I love the style
Good to see you back releasing some content man 😁 you look like you really enjoyed this and that seems like exactly what you need to do, find your fun in making content!
@@HaugenRacing absolutely agree, and it gets exposure to people who don't have as much reach as you do, it's a win win 😁 glad you enjoyed it man, I'm sure there's tons of people out there willing to let you rip their setup!
What kinda initially doomed the E4-6-90's for drifting is lack of limited slip diff, we will never know what they were thinking. But if you can get it welded or swap in an M3/M5 diff (168-188mm's aren't too good at standing up to competitive use) you're golden. Like Mike said, the beemers handle REALLY well, the extra weight just.. isn't an issue (imo), and do a lot of the work for you. I used to donk on BMW's but now that they're pretty much the only capable grassroots cars left, I've started dabbling with them, they grow on you and I have to admit there are worse cars at stock/grassroots trim level, they're like cheap JZX's.
People don't realize that thanks to the aluminium front end, the E60 is actually much ligher than it's predecessor (E39) and is almost the same weight as the E46 3 series (Ex. E46 330i 170 kW - 1430 Kg vs. E60 530i 190 kW - 1490 Kg). With proper aftermarket suspension, I think those cars would prove to be very capable both for tracking and drifting.
I like the new editing and intro style! Glad you are still in the game. Been worried about you bro, Love your stuff and I gotta save just a little more so I can get more merch lol. Someday I will put your wheels on my dream car! Please a a donation button somwhere! I love your stuff and always know you have fans to support you! Love you man!
Hahaha I almost don't watch this video cause of the new logo I didn't realized it was you! I'm glad you refreshed your image and this new videos style is really cool! I glad you the best regards from Argentina
Its so interesting how obvious the difference is that this video has a different editor. Good job, editor! I enjoyed this content, but would have enjoyed it a bit more with a more detailed car intro.
Ayeee! The Z made it in background of a HR video AHHH🙂 Wish we coulda got some laps together, the r34 was too intimidating for me to even ask😂 Was so nice to meet you and chill at the drivers meeting together! ❤💛💙 Can’t wait to see more NSB footage! You were absolutely shredding!!

Absolutely love this, content type is on fucking point. Seriously digging the more laid back vibes. Also, this edit is fucking SICK. I don't know if you changed editors or they changed styles, but whatever it was, keep up the great work!
I’m so happy you back man! can’t wait to see where things are gonna go for the community. I do like this format of video it can show people that’s are getting into it that they don’t need a crazy build to start (will always love the r34), would like to see you drifting a more of a beginner drift car so you can give pointers out on how to do sick drifts with out a angle kit and stuff like that. Constructive criticism I’ll say maybe get more vids of the car in the outside but at the same time I know u don’t got a camera team at the moment but besides that was good video man!
I just got a 2005 545i mannual baby! Got it for 700 bucks. Young kid had it, did rhe valve cover himself and now it won't idle, to lean! I think it will be easy fix! Can't wait to get on the road! Wish me luck fellas!
@Haugen Racing yeah I think it will help people not be intimidated to get into drifting too seeing how guys/gals are so supportive at the track and just having fun above all. As much as it sucks sitting in longer lines waiting to get Laps, we need more drifters to expand our sport! :)
This was sick to see! Should definitely do more. It’ll be cool to see other cars and people you meet. All while you become a better driver getting experience in other setups
man i had the 745i was awesome bmw phone heated and massaging rear seats thing was insane. then i had a misfire priced up coil packs then gasket 1600 quid for a stoopid piece of rubber e46 fir the win man so cheap to upgrade and repair. come try mines out lol x
Do you know where I should get started with drifting? What should the first car I buy with my own money be? A Miata? A bmw rwd manual? An S2000? An old Celica? Do I practice some skids in the parking lots afterwards?
id start with looking at cars that are popular for drifting since there will be more parts available and other people to talk to for setup tips. look at wisefab and Parts shop max websites and pick a car they make angle kits for. thats an easy way to start
@@HaugenRacing Thank you for the advice. I have an ultra concentration mode I go into while driving that would probably make me a great drifter. I just need to get started in the hobby one day. I’ll keep this in mind and print the comment out so in a few years time, I can do what you said. Thank you so much!
What do you think of e36’s and e46’s I want to get i to drifting so bad and im thinking about starting with a e36 or e46. I would love your review on it on things such as lap time. How often it runs through tires, gas. Does it overheat? If so how to prevent it etc.
E36 and E46 are the perfect beginner drift cars. Go with the 328/330 models. In stock form they are somewhat low on power but when you remove 200kg of interior they become perfect. My advice is to start practicing in the rain/wet as you can get much more practice time without puttin unnecessary strain on the vehicle. When you first start out you'll have to learn how to countersteer, how to transition, etc. etc and it's much better to learn it with lower grip than higher grip because you're gonna spin out a lot, that will be frustrating and will take time so it's better to put the least amount of wear on the car in the process. Then you can move up to dry drifting. In terms of car setup, get some knucke adapters for angle, a shorter welded diff (3,38 or higher), and remove 200kg from the car. For cooling you can get away with the stock radiator setup, but you'll have to do cooldown laps. Also if the car has a clutch fan replace that with an electrical fan because it frees up little bit of horsepower. If it does overheat get an aftermarket radiator or remove/punch holes in the thermostat. My advice would be to go with the E46 330i. In terms of weight an E46 can easily go down to 1200kg/2640lbs, an E36 can go down to 1100kg/2430lbs. At that weight the car becomes super nimbe and direct.
Would have loved a more in-depth look at the car before running it. I get it's a basic build but I'd like to hear what he did with the active steering he disabled.
I’ve been saying it for a long time, 5 series are the German Toyota jzx😂😂 the big body and weight make for really smooth drifts while still being comfortable. An e39 540i or m5 would be a perfect car for driftweek😂
This is great, but the only issue I think you're running into is that the algorithm may not be pushing your non-reaction videos. But this may be the ticket, and if you stick with it the algorithm may pick these up, and start actually pushing them to the top.
