Yeah I mean i lived my whole life for everyone else but me, living to make everyone around me happy and it burnt me out to an extend. Now for the first time I try to do everything for the purpose of my health and well being (while not damaging other people of course) and it's the first time I feel better, so I'm not sure about this message being universally true for every person.

I totally understand your perspective. I, too, suffered from people pleasing, my mother too who i learnt it off. She sadly got very unwell from it (severe depression and anxiety).
But some thoughts. I've learnt its a skill to be practised and honed. You need to set boundaries, not just jump when called or do things outside your skills. Practice at work, i give my clients everything ive got related to my profession but have boundaries outside that. Id recommend listening to brene brown.
You'll miss alot of joy serving others and the understanding ones will serve back. Its a waste to go from one opposite to the other as i believe that wont really satisfy you in the long run.
In any case, absolutely you do you, no arguments there 👍
