- I GO FISHING IN MY EXPERIMENTAL STORMWATER POND FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER!!! Busting with frogs and tadpoles, I attempt to "match the hatch" by tying on a hollow body frog on my rod... While I was fishing the frog, I noticed something sneaking around in the bottom of the pond, IT WAS HUGE!!!

KVD strike King popping Perch. You should put bowfins in your pond I heard they are monster fighters.
Build a pier style dock that goes out into the pond. Just use 4x4s for the legs and 2x4s for the top. All you would need is a handsaw, a drill and some screws. Then you don’t have to stand in the grass the whole time. Just an idea 🤷♂️.

Actually hes not wrong I used a scythe to trim high grass at a pond by my moms house (md) to get it to a manageable height ever since I just take a manual mower to trim the area. That being said I only cut about 10 ft of bank before being whipped out.
This. It would make it so easy and much faster. You could take out more at once.

Just as others have mentioned, it does need a dab of oil before you use it ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxSlytCJqozTF7EbdP4LWP-HUXf9WRDJ0e - put a few drops in through the convenient screw cap and you are good to go! I have fished several weeks with a couple of these, and I will be getting more in the future. I put these against my Abu Garcia Pro Max reel, and they actually perform a bit better than the Abu with some of my lighter cranks, and definitely just as good with the rest of my lures. My Abu is a bit more low profile and fits my hand better, but these are definitely not bad at all. You can almost get 3 of these for the price of my Pro Max. My only complaint is the thumb bar sits pretty high compared to my traditional profile Abu. Bring that thumb bar down a little and I’m sold on these all day long.

Stopping by from Graham's channel lol. Love the lively content. I feel like your type of vids will never get old for people who are really into fishing.
For maintaining that type of thin brush I suggest a long, thin machete with a comfy handle or maybe a swingblade or scythe if you wanna get fancy. Once you get it nice, just use a push mower.

Cut the weeds around the bank with a weed whacker and then on a windy day you can get the duckweed out with a pool net, then I would leave the trees if any around the pond. Hope that helps take a few pallets out there and make a few benches lol

To get rid of the brush you can “rent sheep” and they will clear that in a week. I just had them for my front yard this past week. 👌🏼

To clear out the brush, I'd just hit the weed whacker and trim it all down to about 4 inches, then just use the lawn mower. To clean it all up rake it into small piles. That's probably the best way.

Bushhog close to edge and use industrial strength Round Up to help with management of grass. After that, it's a simple now over with tractor and grass cutter. Another idea is to see if anyone wants to cut it down and bail up to use as hay for their horses.

If it’s a snapping turtle and you don’t want it you can use raw chicken on a big hook and tie it to a few 2 liter empty bottles then bring it in that way, also get a weed eater and take care of all the grass!! The duckweed is looking so much better though

I love frogs and tadpols
I would suggest just making small trails by continuously walking to the pond. I have lots of brush where i like to fish. over the course of a year a trail started to develop. deer, raccoons and squirrels use it now too lol.

i would take a weed eater and make a little path straight to the water , then clear along the bank a nice 4 foot wide section on both sides of the bath

Only if he's physically throwing them in their and disease I don't see how a small private pond could spread diseases that might exist in a huge natural lake. Truth of it is that they don't want people starting their own ponds because it takes business away from Fish and Wildlife Agencies. If I start my own pond and buy the fish to put in their then I don't think law enforcement can tell me how much fish to put in it, if I'm buying the fish and not physically fishing them out of a nearby lake then transporting them into my pond then yes I could see a problem with that, if you buy the fish and the fish species are native to the area then I don't see a problem with how much fish to put in my private pond.

Well, the reason is that his state fish and game saw his videos and realized he was not the brightest when it came to consequences. He probably would have ended up stocking it with asian carp and snakeheads. No, that is not a comment on race, just ignorance.

I have two reccomemdations for that brush at the edge of the pond.
You could take a working weedwacker, and that should temporarily take care of it.
You could also take a machete or sword amd chop it dowm.
if u wanna get rid of the buckweed put in a few grass carp, they can eat a ton of vegetation (up to 40lbs a day!)

Use a sythe to clear the brush. It will be quiet and does not use gas or oil.
Use worms,they will catch anything

U know u could go to a fish farm and buy bass catfiish bluegill etc and police wouldnt interfiere
clear the brush with a sythe , that would probably be the most simple way, you can buy a break down sythe that you can carry out there and then just whack a path clear.
Weed-eater with hard plastic or metal blades will cut grass and brush as long as it's not too thick in the stalk.
If it's your property and you want to keep a path clear remove woody roots of brush and, lay down thick plastic you can get on a roll at Lowe's or Home Depot, and cover with gravel you can buy by bag. Use a wheelbarrow to carry bags and a rake to spread evenly.
