I saw quite a few of them off step,I'm in the jrotc in high school and I can march better than half of them and I noticed towards the end of the video that one guy looks down instead of looking forward, that just pissed me off so bad
Joel Quijano I just got out of high school about a year ago and my drill team could march vastly better than these disappointments. I made sure of this, if my cadets failed to march in step, get the command right or simply not learn quick enough... HALF RIGHT FACE. And side note, I saw the guy who looked down and my mind said "Aint no use in looking down, aint no discharge on the ground"
Though I was a blast to learn with imo, one practice I had my cadets do right oblique one after another until my drill team was making a circle and following each other.
I also am jrotc I’ve been teaching the let 1s for 3 years now but you have to remember this is 1 probably one of the last times they’ll practice marching like that, 2 most of them came in not knowing anything about drill so it’s better then nothing and if you have been to jclc then you know no one ever stays in step while you march unless you compete in the drill comp at the end. In jrotc you practice every day on drill if your on drill team and if your. Not drill team then you practice at least once out of the week for 4 school years if you join as a freshman. Yes I see that they are out of step yes I know their arm swings are terrible but I also know they are tired and excited to see their family and friends. A lot of them are probably going to be knocked on the way home. If you want to criticize someone for something then you gotta pull them to the side, and tell them face to face. Like a drill sergeant. Go try that with a drill sergeant.
The Army needs to get back to simple basic cadence, that are easy to March to. All this fancy shit with fancy moves, and soldiers can't even march in step.

i mean they arent really aloud to do anything to the in coming soldiers anymore basic is way to easy...but its not like it was fun either there was some suck involved with basic training just not as much as there should have been basic should be much harder then what it was for me and i will admit that
my drill Sergeant was right you'll look back at basic training like they were your good days just wait till they send you 6 thousand miles away then sleep for a year in the snow do another 3 years in the infantry just to get out come home and be homeless
