Just ordered my Powerblock Pro 90's with both expansion packs for Black Friday, with the stand, and a REP AB-3000 adjustable bench. Can't wait for everything to get here, and get started! Great review! It re-inforced everything I expected about the Powerblocks.
This really was an honest review, You shared with us the most effective facts to know about the dumbbells such as it's efficient use of saving space. I really appreciated the parts where you raised the points of the disadvantages such as the pins breaking and how potentially fragile it can be. Good work LMZ!
Thank you so much! You are so right, it is a no brainer. The amount of space you save and the versatility makes it a game changer! Check out my other videos if you want. 🙂 Would love your support!
Thanks for the vid! Ended up picking up the Pro 50 (non-expandable) since I probably won't need heavier and have the convenience of the 5lb increment selectors. I was going to go with some nuobell clone, but have been reading issues with reliability
Yeah, it’s a pricey one time purchase, but way cheaper than buying 5-90lb dumbell sets, depending when and where you buy dumbells, it can range from the 1000s- lower 10,000s, and like you said the extra space is nice, IMO a must for Home gyms
Heck yeah bro!! Can do everything you want and more and gives us more space for all the other things we want!! Thanks for stopping by and supporting bro!!
Just copped these with the extension kits to 90lbs, plus the rack and an adjustable incline bench. Already got a commercial treadmill and stationary bike in the basement, just need a cable machine or squat rack and I’ll never have to waste time going to the gym again
BRO THAT IS WHATS UP!! You don't need all the fancy machines to get absolutely jacked! Amazing to hear, and thank you for the watch! Subscribe if you want!

I would say the feel and durability of the pro series is better with a little bit more weight increments. Both are solid but the pro series is worth every penny. Solid article on both www.kingofthegym.com/powerblock-dumbbells/
Any reason you didn't go with the Elite EXP? Also do you think you could use wrist straps ( your wrap around a bar for grip ) on these? I have an essential tremor on my left hand. Sucks with grip. I do 245 on bench for reps, no straps. However, when doing say hammer curls, my left hand grip is about 20% weaker. Also in my pulling movements.
Honestly no reason. These just have extra weight increments plus my dad had them and I really liked them! And absolutely. There’s a tube on each side that’s sturdy enough. I use my angles 90 which was newest video, and I wrap them around the tube

I have theses and the ironmaster DBs. With the adder weights in they are unbalanced especially for curls. Meaning they want to correct its own gravity. So i have to take them out when I do curls. I have had many models of PBs, I use to buy and resell them to fund my garage gym. That was when only Craigslist existed lol.. Either way ironmaster and PBs have been in the game for a long time and they are definitely the best adjustable DBs hands down.
Oh wow I didn’t know that!! That’s good to know! When I was searching I was always told powerblocks or ironmaster are the best!! I could never get the ironmasters because they were never in stock, so these were luckily available, so I gave them a shot! Best investment we’ve made for our home gym! Thanks for stopping by and watching too:) hope you sub and check out my other videos!
Hi ...about the 5% u can not training easy because the hands position ...i wanna ask u 1 thing : u can not take the dumbell in the "2bar" behind the grip (i mean where u put the 1 kg weight) and use for do more confortable training ? i ask u before because in some video some1 use this hand position for do this type of exercises ... tnx from Italy ! :)
Hey Joker!! Honestly I’ve never tried! I’ve used that to attach grips I bought to do some training, and it seems pretty sturdy, so it’s possible! Just have to be careful because it’s not meant to be used there!
I have the pro series 90lbs powerblocks and I love them. However I wanna get thoese rackable/spotter cables for dumbells since I have shoulder problems. The issue is that they don't work with powerblocks cause if the design. I was thinking about selling them and getting a cheap sport powerblocks up to 50lbs and getting the ironmasters that go up to like 80 or so. This way i can use the heavier db with the rackable/spotter cables
@@LukesGarageGym I was also thinking about the loadable dumbells for the heavier weigjts. And I think they will be easier to load and change weight while they are on the sport grip spotter as opposed as the iron master. With the iron master I will have to unload the whole dumbell to add/change more weights as opposed as loadable ones where I can live them on the spotter and load them from there
I would say the elite are cheaper and pretty similar. The elite have a closed handle and a manual locking mechanism, but that’s really about it. If you are wanting more budget, try the elite. But the pro are top notch. I found a great article for you too comparing the two! www.kingofthegym.com/powerblock-elite-vs-sport/
What’s up! I do!! I have had them for over a year and with how good of shape they are in, they will last a lifetime! I can’t speak on the elite or sport but based off the company and product, you will be VERY satisfied!!
All the sets are basically the same. The difference is merely aesthetic: color, handle preference, and amount of weight. I've never broken a slide clip in 22 years of use. 😁
my biggest complain is how annoying it is to change weight without stand. it is easy to change weight as long as the surface you put them on are solid but even if there is little bit of cushion, holes will not align with plastic weight holder. for example, if you try to change weight on couch or bench.. good luck.. lol. i didn't wanna buy stand but well, i had to coz i don't have anything to put these heavy blocks on and trying to change weight on floor gets annoying.. besides that, powerblock is an excellent adjustable dumbbell.
Oh 100%!! We had to do a makeshift stand for the time being until the one we had came in and we had the same issues. This stand we have makes such a huge difference! Thanks so much for stopping by and watching!!
Can you tell me we’re a plastic black circle goes? I took my handles off to change then to stainless steel and a black circular washer plastic come off
That I am not sure. I’ve never taken off the handle. My guess would be it’s how the handles are screwed in and when you took them out, all the nuts and bolts came with
No fate channel checking in! I've been checking out a few of these videos and I like them. Def. no need for an extra camera like a go pro. Wouldn't work well inside a garage. Now what mic are you using?
Thanks bro I think so too! For now just my mic on my phone but I’m thinking eventually I’ll need a mic set up because there’s an echo in my garage. Any suggestions?
Cant' decide on these vs the elite. Something about the straight bar on the elite makes me happy (and how they aren't as long), but those pads around the wrist...not sure how I feel about that.
I get that man!! Elite series is definitely more on the cheaper end too. Only downside to them is they don’t have as many weight increments as the pro series. I personally have never seen or held the elite but based off research and images, the only difference is price and not as many weight increments, so not much!!
@@ajmunn1229 yeah they do!! The pro series has the added weights inside that makes it so you can have 28 dumbbell weight increments in just a set of their dumbbells. Think elite has 16 weight dumbbell increments, why it’s a little cheaper. Don’t really matter though, that’s not a big deal.
I was gonna buy these for 250$ canadian pair of two adjustable to 57lbs . But after watching the video I don't want to now because they can be annoying when working out ...

I have a pair of PowerBlock Sport 50's. I bought them last year after not having worked out for several years. For me, 10 to 50 lbs. per hand worked well. I have tried the expandable PowerBlocks at sporting goods stores. I think your evaluation of the Powerblocks is accurate. I got lucky about a year later and won the Ironmaster lottery. I was able to purchase a set of their adjustable dumbbells that goes to 75 lbs. per hand. As the weights get above 50 lbs, the Ironmasters are probably easier to work with. Each has its pro and cons, but at heavier weights, the Ironmasters seem to handle a little better. Getting a pair, however, at least right now, is not so easy.
