    Cada, Cobi, Reobrixx, BlueBrixx, Mould Kings, ALDI..the list goes on. LEGO has some more and more serious competitors, and I am happy to see them get more exposure. Meanwhile, LEGO ups the prices and uses stickers in their 400 usd sets. They are the largest manufacturer of tires in the world, yet can not make a wider tire for their Formula One rear wheels. Again, the list goes on. Thank you for this exciting and interesting video!

      Hi Gold Pill Will, I agree, I think some competition in the 'building product toys' space is a healthy thing. As long as of course we don't have companies blatantly making poor quality exact copies of Lego sets, like we did back in the bad old days with 'Lepin'. I do still feel very wary about these alternate companies due to that dark past, but I like CaDa's approach to supporting talented MOC designers so it's why I'm open to buying, building and featuring their sets on my channel. As always, happy building to you! Cheers, Simon

    Excellent review. I had the same grey pin issue with the Ferrari model. I think that this problem is still tp be remedied. I hope CaDa sort this out.. Otherwise looks stunning. Oh yeah, the Ferrari tyre treads are directional, nice touch.

      Thanks! + that is good to know re the Ferrari model, thanks for letting me know. I bought the yellow version but I've not built it yet. When I do that build I'll buy up lots of Lego equivalent pins in advance to make sure that build goes smoothly. Ps I contacted CaDa to let them know about this issue and they said they've notified their production manager, hopefully they sort this out for future sets.

      @@CraftedBricks Thanks so much. Can you provide the part numbers and amounts for the two pins you mention in your vid, please.

    • @CraftedBricks

      @Tadeusz12 - Hi Tadeusz12. I just checked the Hypercar's instruction booklets. There are 109 qty. 2L with axles pins (Lego part #11214) and 177 qty. 1L with axle pins (Lego part #43093). If I was building this again from scratch I would replace ALL of those pins with the Lego equivalents to get the best possible end result. All of the other CaDA pin types in my case were good.
      + two more tips. CaDa provide 3L pins in black in box #4, you can use these at any time in your build. I recommend that when you are building any sections for the front lip/bumper of the model, rear and the top air wing/spoiler - that you use these black pins versus the regular blue coloured 3L pins. Also I had a lot of pins and some random parts left over, don't be surprised by this.

      No problem at all, I'm happy to help! Thanks for the offer of photos for the Ferrari, but it is ok. I'm likely not going to build that model till next year, I need to refocus my builds and video work more towards mods & upgrades of current sets as that's what seems to work best for my channel. Luckily I also love to mod so this works well. I'm also working in the background on a new type of content that I'll announce in a few months, it goes hand in hand with a blog site I'm planning to set up. 🙂. Hi Chris, yes I completely understand your sentiment. And for me, while I love this set, will keep it and put it on display, my heart and focus will always be with building models with official Lego parts. The high quality of Lego's parts is what make their sets and models built from their line of parts so good!

  • @zealot777
    @zealot777 2 роки тому +3

    Excellent video as usual sir. It is a gorgeous model and your "pros" and cons" were well explained. That being said, Technic based sets sure have morphed (if that's a correct term) into 2 things from the old Expert Builder days (Yes, I'm old). The level of detail and accuracy is incredible, but I still like the old school bricks and plates (Lego #8860 is a gem). The V12 Hypercar set has confirmed I'm not too fond of all those white technic panels (again, just me). I'm conflicted to get sets like this and wonder is there any room for modding? I see none.

    • @CraftedBricks
      @CraftedBricks  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Zealot777 - great comments and thank you again for your support. Yes these current era Technic sets are very different from the set produced in what I still think is the 'golden era of Technic' during the 80's and early 90's. Like you I love and cherish the #8860, I have one that I built from new parts in my collection and I love it (my childhood original was too beaten up to be display worthy). But that said these newer sets have a place in my heart too as they really are perfected works of art that bring a smile to my face when I look them!

    Really excellent review. I appreciate your attention to detail and that you slowly go over all aspects.
    I am a longtime Lego fan and love the 1:8 supercar series, but they are fantastically expensive, and realistically, they aren't that difficult. I am sure I could have put the gt3rs or Chiron together at 12 or 13 years old so this set looks like a refreshing challenge.
    I'm with you insofar that the lack of features isn't a deterrent for me. I would much rather have a well-built, solid display piece for a 1:8 supercar.
    I have always found a sort of funny parallel between the 1:8 supercar series models and real life... whether you buy a Lamborghini Sian in real life or in Lego form, chances are you aren't going to play with it much - you will just put it on the shelf and admire it's beauty.
    Cheers from Canada!

    • @CraftedBricks
      @CraftedBricks  Рік тому +1

      What a refreshing and well thought through comment, thank you Nolan! And yes you will definitely find this build, particularly with CaDa's more 'dense' instruction style to be more of a challenging (/involved) build experience versus the Lego 1:8 scale Supercar models. If you do buy this set I would recommend pre-purchasing some Lego 2L+axle pins in Dark Stone Grey, in advance, to have them on hand while you build to swap-in to replace the CaDa pins for that type of pin.
      As for Supercars, you know what the weird thing is? Even if I had the money to afford one, I wouldn't buy one, they are so impractical! But as you say beautiful to look at and I think appreciate for their engineering excellence! Best wishes to you, cheers, Simon

As so many people have asked about it however, it is on my mind so perhaps I will at least get onto organising the parts as a first step in the right direction.

      @@buddybonbutt7510 - that's so good to hear - you'll have to do the tail-fin mod to complete it though. And guess what!? SecretSquirelBricks has just published a video on the Shuttle booster upgrades. I'll be doing a proper base for my build, and the orange coloured fuel tank - but his video will give you an idea of what's to come!
