The old fence of my wonderful old Bäuerle Table saw was just too much of a hassle for me.
So I built it a brand new one out of aluminium and plywood tricked-out with modern features like a flip up stop block, a stick on tape measure for easy and accurate cuts and a zero clearance support pad.

Nothing says German engineering more then timing and weighting the difference. I always like the German UA-camrs.
True!
that saw is a thing of beauty, good job with the fence
What I enjoy most about your channel is that, even though your solutions are usually project/tool specific, the application of pragmatic engineering principles is not. I almost always find inspiration of germane ideas for the purpose of improving my own shop time.
Amazing. I love the locking mechanism.
Love the old cast iron table saw's. Simply wunderbar.
Sometimes being German is not always the best. I personally sometimes drive myself crazy with layers of thinking thoughts linked together and just holding them in my mind. He's a great kid I wish he worked in my shop.
Extremely well thought out.
Hi Cosmas, great solution, but you actually cheated when comparing the two. When you remove the old fence you still have to remove the two bolts and cranks in order to rip a wide board/sheet, so the 55 seconds will actually be much longer. I have enjoyed many of your projects. All the best.
thought the same.
I guess to remove and attach the screwed down bolt would add about 2 minutes
That is true!
Your content is always so amusing and informative. How you post your videos in 2 different languages is awesome and I appreciate the effort. This solution is brilliant.
Cosmas, You are a Genius. Congratulation!, And thank you for sharing.
Ohhh man.... I want one of this. What a beautiful machine
9:44 germans: insert „einfach, aber genial!“ here.
Fabulous engineering thanks
It will take even longer than 55sec if you also have to remove those two bolts in order to rip cut something bigger and then putting them back for other cross cuts.
I don't know why this video feels more casual than previous ones, but I like the vibe!
Also, your table saw's cast iron is very sexy!
Also also, your design is simple, minimal, yet effective, great job.
I love seeing inventions like this. We can achieve great things with conscious thought.
That mock laughter at the end! 😂
great addition to this magnificent machine
I love seeing such elegant, well thought out solutions. Thanks so much for sharing. Looking forward to your next video.
What's the old saying , need or necessity is the mother of invention !! :-)
So whatcha got brewing over there with the dust collector changes?
Good video, Cosmas! I do agree with Michael Coceski, however, when it comes to adding the removal time for the two hold-down bolts on the cast iron system. Keep 'em coming!! Be safe and stay healthy!!
That is a beautiful old saw!
Everything for convenience and fast operation, super)) 👍👌.
Reuse the idle part somewhere else. It is parallel, it is flat, it is 30 pound cast iron and steel.
SECOND FROM TOP JOINERY SAW
Excellent video. Love watching your creative solutions. Stay safe..
That is one sweet upgrade Cosmas. Did you get that Kreg profile here in Europe?
Hi Roy, I think I got the from "Sauter Shop". But that was 2 years ago, I cant say for sure. I just checked their website and they don't seem to have this one any more.
Well done!
Great video Cosmas. Extremely well designed!
Quite a machine.
really well done, but don't you have two table saws? So you could just set one up for ripping and one for cross cutting, no? 🤔
Still, I'm really impressed with those two quick release locking mechanisms. That is slick engineering.
That was the initial plan but it now looks more like the other saw is always occupied with some jig or fixture or dado cutter and I use the big one more for the normal cuts.
@@CosmasBauer I thought Dado blades were not available in Europe!?
Nicely done. Something about that old heavy duty too though. I know you will keep it handy.
"Let me show you what i came up with" ..... Slingshot channel collaboration in the future? :D
And the second annoyance I guess is the rail sticking out toward the operator? Would be interesting to see how you could make it slidable or foldable. Great video as usual!
Brilliant - your a genius! Well done!
I would love to find an old table saw like that.
great!
That’s a fantastic solution!!
Nice work as always! I like the cam lock deal as well! I guess you could sell that original attachment to someone that needs it for a museum piece... Could fund the new one! 😇😎
7 dislikes from people who don't know what it's like to lift, remove, store, lift, install, and calibrate 30lbs of cast iron multiple times during a day.
Or maybe they are gym enthusiasts ;)
Very nice solution and an entertaining video.
nice
Wow...!!this is amazing table saw!!so best!!😍😍😍😍😍😍
Your job is great, smart young man
Nice video. Excellent engineering and design. Mahalo for sharing! : )
Nice
Awesome work! 😃👍🏻👊🏻
this is best table saw please review video
I'm also wondering what the second problem is
I think this saw have many other big trouble and I strongly recommend that you sell it to me .. please please please
What was the other issue with the saw?
1. What was the second problem with the saw?
2. What is 19 seconds in metric?
Got my Sub immediately I saw this, Cosmas!
This is why I love your channel, well done!
On a side note: I thought KREG was an American company?
Getting a millimeter scale seems outlandish coming from 'murica?
Sehr schön 😊👍🏼
Geile addition!
Did I hear "5 1/2 horsepower?" Holy mausers.
I was waiting to see the build. And it never came.
So sad. Maybe next week. Maybe never :D
Buy a second saw for ripping then... You can’t have everything. Most larger Shops have two or more table saws for different tasks... Ripping, Sheet goods and Datto stacks... Nice saw you have for cross cutting though... Greg
Toll gemacht. Handwerklich haste was drauf.
